User Reviews for Gallup Restaurants« Go back to Sherwood Travel GuideResearch User Reviews for Gallup (1-12 of 12)The Chili Factory
“I ordered a bowl of chili in this restaurant & it was served in a huge bowl, the size of a salad bowl with the biggest Jalapeno pepper sliced in half that I had ever seen. The chili looked more like green moss than regular chili & by third or fourth bite I was throwing back an iced drink to try & put the fire out. I loved it. They have more selections of chili than I have ever seen (thus the restaurant name). For chili lovers, this is the place for you. Next time I'm in the Albuquerque area I will seek it out. My wife would hate it however.”

“The worst service I have ever received at a Cracker Barrel. Wait staff and managers down right rude.”

“Wait until you have tried the green chili cheese fries. My brother-in-law who had never here, thought I was crazy. He helped me eat my heaping plateful of chili cheese fries. We made a 3+ hour drive with my family just so we could have lunch. You should have seen the extra orders we took home. You can't beat the price for the platter of food you get. I ordered extra green chili and froze it when I got home. A few months later I defrosted it and poured it over fried potatoes. I was sorry I didn't buy more. Looking for another trip soon.”

“I grew up on family get together at Earl's. It was the best place to go for breakfast and dinner. I recently revisited Earl's with my family of four expecting to have the best biscuits and gravy. We waited 38 minutes for our food to arrive and 16 minutes for our drinks. When we cut into the small looking biscuits it was hard and as soon as the gravy hit our lips it was just as cold as our drinks. When we left to pay we made a small comment about how we ate and the cashier motioned the manager over. He argued with our comment and told us he served our food myself and it was not cold. He then told us that we did not have to return again. He said, I don't need your money I have more important customers to attend to. Good-bye Earl's and old family memories.”

“The food was good. The cafe needs to be more structured While I was there I was told they ran out of straws, chili rellenos, and to top it all off the sodas were flat! The owners or what seemed managers watched television while the cafe was occupied with customers. Also the employees need proper uniforms. I am not talking tuxedos but a clean black shirt with the cafe logo and jeans would be great to see. The place needs some attention from the managers.”

“Moved to Gallup in 1987, today was my second time eating there - no improvement. It will be another 15+ years before I try them again. It has all the excitement and flavor of a grade school cafeteria except you'll need a weeks worth of lunch money, for just one meal.”

“Genaro's is a great little restaurant off the main drag. The atmosphere is very basic but the food is the reason to go. The service is quick and friendly even when the restaurant is full. The Chile relleno plate is out of the world. Two large cheese laden chilies dipped in batter and fried. On the side is Mexican rice, unbelievably flavorful frijoles, the best Posole (hominy) I have ever had and a tortilla. The tamale plate my wife had was also excellent. When I told the waitress that I liked menu do she brought out a cup for me to sample. Get off the interstate and come into downtown to have one of the best Mexican meals you can find.”

“I ate here with my spouse since we never ate there, and out of all other great places to eat and spend our money on, so we ordered and sat down, the flour was ugly, dirty, it was ewww, and my cheese sticks were not even cooked, it was cold and the cheese sticks were still frozen. My chicken sandwich was still cold in the middle. I was grossed out and now I am telling my friends and relatives never to eat there, that is a sick place to eat. ”

“CHON, Earl's ROCKS! The BEST burgers in the nation! It was amazing, I spent $3.99 on a meal and $49.99 on turquoise! The only negative experience we encountered at Earls was a lady from across the room was always yelling, Parakeet to her kids, kind of confusing to us.”

“if you've never been to Earl's, you missed something GOOD - the local native Indians pass thru with their wonderful hand-made items - you can't resist buying something and the food is something else. Earl's is one of our favorite places to eat in the entire USA. When my husband asks me where I want to go for my Birthday - I say Earl's.”
