“Quality. Catering is super. How they find such sweet responsible staff! Have frequently enjoyed catered meals around the area by The City Deli and it has always been great!”

“This was my first visit in several years and will be my last. The food was mediocre at best and the service was terrible. The waitress was rude and appeared to preferred to be anywhere, but there. She never asked us if we wanted anything after taking our initial order. She treated two elderly women at the booth next to ours like they were dirt. There appeared to be a problem with their food and she just stood at their table and yelled at them to the point of having the one woman (probably 90 years of age) in tears. It was the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I have never seen anyone treated this poorly in public, much less two soft-spoken 85+ year old ladies. It literally turned my stomach and to top it off, this waitress then placed around the dining room laughing and telling the folks at another booth (there were only 3 booths filled in the entire place and I can see why) how she was not about to give these old people any break on their bill because of their complaint about their food. NICE!”

“Not a big place, and not many tables, but the food is worth the slightly cluttered restaurant. My favorite was the chicken sandwich with garlic sauce. Might have been the best thing I have ever eaten!Very good quality food for a decent cost! The menu offers a wide selection, and plenty of vegetarian meals as well. All in all, its great.”

“Wow what a menu - everything was so fresh - the creativity blows us away - something every trip & the the amels salad salad is second to none.”

“We've been going to Sushi Two for 10 years, and feel that it's the best Sushi in town. The owners are friendly, but the wait staff is uneven. Some waitresses are gruff, others are terrific. The sushi chefs are unanimously gruff and haughty, but they make terrific sushi, and they're quick and efficient. Over the years, we have always gotten a great meal here for a competitive price. Their sushi is always fresh and the portions are generous. The location is good, too - in the heart of Shadyside on Walnut Street.”

“The Eat & Park in Bridgeville, PA is by far the worst one I have been to. The service was terrible. I ordered hot tea with lemon & honey. I received the tea and lemon. It took some time to receive the honey. I ordered the western omelets smile. It took 45-55 minutes to receive the order. The first cup of coffee received in our group was cold. Someone ordered white toast and received rye.”

“This establishment should not even be considered a restaurant. This is an adults only establishment, that does not allow. We were not allowed to use because my son was with us at 5:30 on a Saturday afternoon. The manager was rude in explaining that they do not allow anyone under 18. This is an anti-family establishment. This establishment chose to shun families in favor of getting a variance to allow smoking. By allowing smoking, they have chose to become and adults only bar and should change their name accordingly to remove the cafe from their name to remove any question on what type of establishment they are. Please choose to spend your money elsewhere.”

“Don't bother to call and order take-out pizza. They will palm off a stale, cold, old pizza on you. Go to Mineos instead. Their pizza is always fresh out of the oven.”

“This place is junk. It used to be great before their old owner passed away. The wife and I used to bring our kids here every weekend. Now it is garbage. The food is overpriced and always terrible. My son got a pizza that looked like a 5 year old made it.”

“The pizza is horrible and I can't believe that people eat this and pay that much for it. The older kid who runs the place is the worst part of the experience. He is rude and overall not nice. He will never work any where except his daddy's place.”

“Excellent food! Beware - Most of the waiters are very nasty with attitudes time and don't mind arguing with customers. The dinning area is very small and you are elbow to elbow with other guests. Almost impossible to have a private conversation. Best to get take out to avoid attitudes.”

“What a magical experience! The bistro entrance with twinkle lights sets the stage as you walk through the door, painted with a misty genie. Delightful, Colorful, and Artistic/Warm and Inviting Ambience. The menu reflected Middle Eastern infusion, sparkling with imagination. The service was attentive and informative. The chef painted a palette of intertwining, explosive flavors, with impeccable presentation, perfection and pride in a performance that cannot be matched. If you should experience any dining experience, let it be this one!”

“How this place could be in business for so many years defies all logic. My fish sandwich tonight was rotten, smelled like ammonia. If your hair is blue and you use a walker then this might be the right place for you. Otherwise, avoid it at all costs.”

“The food is excellent unless you get there right before the kitchen closes. But that's after midnight so most people won't have to worry about that. The TV sets behind the bar are usually playing Hollywood music videos and they can get pretty loud at certain times of the day. If the noise bothers you, getting a table near the back will cut down on it somewhat.”

“That smoking area is gone! I'd like the menu on the web, too. Its cafeteria style so ambiance is non existent, but the cooks are from cooking schools, so who cares?”

“We went to Cafe Zao before a show and had plenty of time. We first ordered the trio of cake for appetizer, which was a small portion but good. I then ordered the filet mignon (about $30). Once our dinners arrived they looked wonderful, I cut into my steak and all I could taste was burnt. I looked and the filet was black on the top and the bottom and had a burned taste throughout. I had a total of 3 bites just to see if I could stand it. I never send items back but I couldn't even enjoy my dinner it was so burnt. So the waiter finally came over and I explained that the steak was burned. He took it back and had the chef redo the order. I was fine with all the above as I know things happen. The next part is what was so rude and not excepted when you are at a fine dinning restaurant. I received my new dinner about 10 min later and the filet was a about the size of a golf ball. I was stunned since the first filet I had gotten I was actually impressed with the size. The waiter then told me that the chef gave me a smaller portion since I had eaten the other steak. I only had 3 small bites of the steak I had sent back! I was so angry. There was no apology, no trying to make it right. Basically by sending me that steak was a slap in the face and the chef trying to tell me there was nothing wrong with the item I sent back. I bet he did not taste it! We will never go back.”

“The place was very busy and much too noisy. They took my reservation when I called, but then when we arrived we had to wait for a table. Then they informed us they don't take reservations! There were way too many people squeezed in around too small tables, and our seats were continually bumped by wait staff as they tried to pass through. It was very hot and unpleasant - no a/c? Service was rushed and sloppy. Food was fine, but nothing was out-of-this-world. Hard to enjoy eating with all the chaos in the restaurant. Dining out shouldn't be this stressful!”

“I have been to many bistros in Paris, Lyon, New York, San Fran & Napa among many others and would definitely recommend Le Pommier if you are stopping in Pittsburgh. Although not as high end as some of the restaurants I have been Le Pommier feels you with soul-satisfying food and an atmosphere that you can be comfortable in. The Hanger steak I had was the best I have ever tried (if they still have it) but you might be disappointed with some of the wines, the last time I went they were out of my first two choices, so next time I might have to take them up on their no corkage Monday. ”

“Great place to see rock-n-roll, down to earth real rock-n-roll atmosphere. You will be entertained by the interesting oddities that dot the "decor. The space is pure rock, you can't help to notice the walls lined with a guitar collection signed by National acts that have rocked the pub, the ceiling is made up of cymbals signed by band members that have played the pub or have just dropped by, and the owner¿s original collection skulls still amuses. Check out their space page for a private tour. While you are there don't forget to take home a 31st street logo shirt, hat, jacket or g-string for that someone special. Available via You don't know what you are missing if you haven't visited the 31st street pub, a truly unique experience!”

“My husband and I went to the red bull on Campbell¿s run, for the last ten years, we always went on new years eve also, and where there this past 2006 ,. Well we went this past sat. 1/13 and were shocked, surprised, disappointed --the sign on the door said--closed. Please settle whatever problems caused this and reopen. The food, service and everyone there was wonderful for our ten years of visits, never a bad meal. Please come back.”

“The food is really good, but the service isn't always the best and its some times really hard to understand them, but as a regular customer they get more friendly as they get to know you. I like the music videos, but the restaurant is generally loud. The half off specials between 4-6, 10-1, are just awesome and they have a buffet at lunch from 12-3 maybe, I don't know but I know its yummy”

“Got a cal zone at Aiello's in Squirrel Hill, it was one of the best cal zones. I've ever had. The environment could be a little nicer for eating in, but I have a feeling that the majority of their customers do take-out (examples of this are the boxes of their ingredients everywhere -- at least you know it's fresh!). The service was fairly quick, and the staff serves with a smile. I'm on my way out the door right now to get something!”

“If you are an East Coaster (NY/Boston corridor) this is your place - it's as good as most anything on Canal Street. They've been around for 32 years doing their thing in a very low-key manner. It is where in-the-know restaurateurs eat. You will not find it on any top lists ¿ it is not that kind of place. Just great food - thinnest pot sticker dough in the Burgh. Also try the Singapore noodles. ”

“An extensive menu plus reasonable prices and great food make Amel's restaurant one of my favorite restaurants in Pittsburgh. It is a little loud, but if you get a booth conversation is private and easy. It is not at all pretentious. Wait staff is friendly and helpful. Overall a great place. ”

“China Palace is located in the Shadyside district of Pittsburgh. A friend once described Shadyside as a Georgetown wannabe and that aptly describes the area if you have ever had occasion to spend time in Washington D.C. The neighborhood is filled with boutiques and shop handling all manner of overpriced merchandise. Many restaurants in the area a likewise overpriced and shouldn't be. One of the few exceptions is China Palace. When you enter the restaurant one thing you notice is all of the awards this Asian restaurant has won in the many years that it has been on Walnut. Despite a rather nondescript exterior this is one of the most popular lunch spots for business people working in the area and with good reason. Great food, Comfortable atmosphere, excellent staff and the prices are an absolute bargain. There lunch menu has about twenty or so choices and nothing in excess of $10.00. For that rather frugal sum you will be getting a much tastier and more nutritious meal than at any fast food chain and I don't think one can go wrong with anything on the menu. One thing to keep in mind is that the items they list as "hot and spicy" are. That isn't a complaint, just that those that like their Asian little milder might want to stay away from the hot and sour soup.”

“This pizza shop is disgusting! EXTREMELY DIRTY! While standing waiting for Pizza and wings to be ready for pick-up, a mouse ran under the pizza ovens. A young man working behind the counter was swearing and making rude and cruel comments about patrons in-front of my young children. From all of the Pizza shops I have visited, this would rank the worst! Beware!”

“The four in our party ordered the 1902 Pasta, chicken piccatta, and the salmon meal. In all cases the main dish was excellent, but the side dishes were lacking. The salads were plain, the vegetables were overcooked and the potatoes were not hot. We used two Entertainment cards, which were punched and returned to us. However, just as we were leaving, the waitress at the table next to us announced to her party that she had not punched their cards so they could use them again. It made me wonder what the criteria was to determine if your card would be punched. It was annoying enough that I probably will not return”

“A really wonderful meal. Had one of the specials, which was Elysian Fields lamb roasted en route, with goat cheese pine nut stuffing, and finished with a cherry sauce. Fabulous!! The Cafe Zao salad is just lovely lots of great Vegas along with field greens, and a elusive-flavored dressing, which was light enough to let the vegetables shine through. My companion had the menu stuffed trout and pronounced it delicious. The homemade style bread is too good, hard to control diving into it. Loved the wine fleets; we tasted three wines for $10, about 3 oz each. Dessert was a lime tart with fruit, superb; my companion had reduced chocolate mousse, which was just too much. Very dense, delicious, but so rich should be shared by 3-4 people. Service was attentive but not hovering. ”
