“I have wanted to visit one of the Ruth¿s Chris steak house locations for awhile because I¿d heard a lot of good things. The meals are fairly pricey, but for a quality steak, not unreasonable. The steak I ordered was very tender and flavorful, but I could only eat about 1/2 so took the other 1/2 home. Imagine my surprise when the second half turned out to be 96% fat. There was a very thin layer of meat along the cut line, but the remainder was nothing but fat. I won't be returning.”

“The Italian bistro of center city is the best Italian cuisine restaurant I have ever been to. The service was great, the food was even better, and the manager, Greg, is a very good manager, if I may say so myself. I highly recommend this astonishing restaurant!”

“This establishment is one of the finest restaurants out there. I had the new York strip which was second to none. Having eaten at the best steakhouses in the country, this was one unbelievable steak. All natural, stamped slab of steak, done wonderfully with great side sauces to your choosing. The chicken livers are to die for. My brother had a veal chop which was equally magnificent. The service impeccable. A host of waiters surrounded you at your every need, like hawks though not intruding. Extremely knowledgeable. The management surveying their premises was very hospitable and made sure of a fine dining event. Deserts, wow equally excellent. You must try the Philly egg roll, great idea n one word sensational ”

“I took my parents to Morimoto for their 20th wedding anniversary. We chose the Omakase nine courses dinner. Each course was better than the last. We enjoyed everything! Chef Morimoto even came out and autographed a menu for my mother (huge Iron Chef fan). There were only two downsides. One, the restaurant is extremely loud and you have to shout across the tables. Two, the food is very expensive, but worth every penny. ”

“I am a sushi lover and have tried numerous restaurants locally as well as in other major US cities. I have even had sushi in Singapore. I believe that without exception, You Zen has the best sushi. The atmosphere is pleasant and cozy and the service is usually very good. But it's the food that will bring you back. ”

“Stay away from this place. Horrible, simply horrible. I fly into and out of Philly frequently (usually late at night) and this is the only place in Terminal D that serves alcohol. The service is horrendous! By far, the largest and most surly group of unfriendly staff ever collected under one roof. You'll sit at a table for service for what seems like eternity while you watch the staff go about cleaning up the place. When you finally go up to the bar to inquire about table service, they rudely inform you that there is no table service. And finding a bartender is next to impossible. Finally, a word about their prices. I was there one night where the staff switched the blaring music from rock to rap (where every other word was beeped out) and the manager was yelling at one of the busboys. Avoid this place like the plague.”

“I'm a Baltimore, Maryland crab cake girl...but Snockey's has won me over. I'll be back to Philadelphia and Snockey's. After reading about Snockey's in PW, I thought I've got to give this place a try...and I'm glad I did. I love their traditional oyster house atmosphere. I enjoyed sitting at the bar, noshing on their oyster sampler, cajun shrimp and hard-shell crabs while watching the 1:00 football games. I even had a crab cake, delicious food at great prices. Ken and Skip, the owners, and their staff, are down to earth people, a rare find today. They've been around a long time and now I know why. Can't wait to get back to Snockeys.”

“After reading and hearing from various people that this restaurant was a good choice for a large group of friends, for an intimate celebratory dinner I was very disappointed at the food, the quality of service, and absolute disorganization when it even came to taking orders!! First, the chicken dish came back so undercooked the entire inside was pink. Only to return the plate back claiming the product was cooked, but you couldn't tell because they poured so much gravy on top that the chicken was indistinguishable from the potatoes. Another person's rare ah tuna, was guaranteed by the waitress and the server to be absolutely rare, mean while, there was barely an inch of pink to be seen within the dish. Instead of strip steaks that were ordered, the waitress didn't bother to distinguish the patrons that ordered filet mignon versus strip steak, and brought out filets for all (a big price difference). Oh, and they were all cooked to one consistency...so why bother asking how you want it cooked? They forgot to take people's orders. They forgot to put all of the orders in to the kitchen, so half of the large group didn't have food for a good 20 minutes while everyone else¿s' food was getting cold. They brought out dishes that people did not order. Food was not prepared properly. And the only dish that came out on time was the beef burger. I'm sorry to be writing all of this, but as a place that supposedly has a good reputation no manager/owner ever stopped by to make sure everything was okay or to manage the food situation, especially when the place only seats about 60 people (both upstairs and downstairs). Service was bad, food was bad, and it¿s really unfortunate, because we all had great hopes about our dining experience there.”

“I stopped by the bar on 9/18/06 at 14:39. I was greeted by the rudest barmaid I have ever encountered her name was Monica. No Hello How are you doing, No Thank you, All she did was complain about every one else that was sitting in the bar area to her coworker that was working the Tables. She never smiled and seemed like she hated being there. I work for Hilton Hotels as Bar Manager for the past 10 years and if I had a bartender that worked for me that was that impersonal I would dismiss her. I ordered a White Russian that was made with bar Vodka and a 1/2 shot of Kaluha and 20 little 1/2 and 1/2 containers that she complained about opening. ”

“Ishkabibbles is a little hole in the wall but where all the locals flock for an authentic Philly cheese steak or original chicken cheese steak. the sandwiches are made when you order, unlike some other places, and the fries are the best!! the walls are covered with pictures of famous people who have stopped by to grab a bite to eat. its Philly's best kept secret!”

“We had 7 in our party. Most of us took advantage of the all you can eat crabs. It was great. Crabs were sweet, hot and done to perfection!!! Service was fast. Our waitress was pleasant, efficient, and knowledgeable of the menu. Whenever we are up from Florida, we make a special trip to Kelly's. We usually bring a bunch. Everyone loves it. Never a bad day. Keep up the great job. You are on the top of our list of great places to eat. Plus the cocktails were excellent. ”

“Big on flash and hype, falls on its face with the delivery. The waiters were either inexperienced or worse, just did not care. What promised to be a great evening was abruptly terminated with the quality of service and the exceptionally bland food. Yes, the room is beautiful and the plating of the food exquisite however the fore grass, lobster and the omakase dinners were not exciting. With dishes such as these, it was no wonder that Vancouver's Rob Feenie beat Morimoto on Iron Chef America.”

“I recently had dinner for the first and last time at Vetri and was EXTREMELY disappointed. Following the kudos the restaurant recently received in an issue of Bon Appetit, I made Vetri reservations for a Saturday night. We decided to go with another couple to dine on the 8-course chef tasting menu. Although I recognized that the flat $115 per person rate was steep, my husband and I often treat ourselves to elaborate dinners for special occasions. If you can believe it, our bill at the end of the night was almost $700 for four people and, we left hungry!! It was totally embarrassing for me since I suggested we go there. Be warned this restaurant takes the concept of tasting to the extreme. My advice would be to eat before you go.”

“This place is by far the best sushi house I have found anywhere in Philadelphia. It's slightly expensive, but anyone who eats sushi on a regular basis is used to that. Their sashimi is always fresh, and the rolls are delicious. They also have a good number of Japanese Kitchen type items on the menu for the non-sushi eater in your party. The atmosphere is great, although some will be put off by the fact that they have a smoking section. They have a couple traditional floor tables for romantic evenings. Highly recommended, well worth the money.”

“Nicholas has excellent food, lots of choices (it's not really a seafood restaurant, as there are many choices), they serve alcoholic beverages, and they are a huge favorite with seniors in the area for their "early bird" which seems to be available most of the time. It's handicap accessible but still a nice place to dine. Parking is limited, and they are in a multi-ethnic strip in a very diverse area. Service is friendly, portions are generous, but not enormous. The snapper soup is excellent, and don't forget to ask for the sherry.”

“Service was indifferent, we were part of a larger party and we arrived early. Staff gave me a lot of hassle when I asked to be seated. Food was below average. For a seafood restaurant, the variety of dishes were limited. On the menu, I saw the normal shellfish, crabs, lobster, scallops, clams, etc. The only fish I saw was flounder, trout & salmon. You would think a seafood restaurant would offer a better selection of seafood and more than 3 kinds of fish. I ordered Flounder Florentine. It tasted like mashed potatoes with spinach and covered in cheese. Couldn't taste the flounder at all and there wasn't very much of it in the dish. Someone else in our party ordered the crab cakes and they were far more cake than crab. The mussels I had for an appetizer were filled with sand and I had to send them back. I've only ever had to send 2 other dishes back to the kitchen my whole life. Give this place a miss if you like seafood. ”

“Introduced ourselves to man that server said was owner. He would not even admit to being a manager. Was screaming at other employees, then quite nasty to my wife and I. Lunch did not go down that well, but we were not complaining. We both got horrible stomach pains and diarrhea, though. Server was fired while waiting on us and not replaced. Establishment seems poorly run, could be a gold mine.”

“Last year, because we are such big Iron Chief fans, I took my husband to Motorist's for his birthday. We were both extremely impressed with the atmosphere, the menu the whole restaurant. The design of the restaurant and all of the dishes were exquisite. You know as soon as you walk in that this is a dining experience that you will not soon or ever forget.”

“I performed a wedding ceremony here in one of their private rooms, which included about 20 family members. The steaks were INCREDIBLE. I've never seen such a huge, wonderfully flavored piece of prime rib! Others also raved about the seafood. & the children were happy with their food as well (hamburger, fries, chicken strips, etc.). Service was very attentive. Beautiful decor. Happy atmosphere. Piano player was really fun.”

“I was at awe, the food was the best. I went to many japanese restaurant but Morimoto tops the bar. I had the 6 course meal and the sushi and sashimi combination, and it was the best. choose the 6 course meal and shushi combination, but go all out. We spent over 400 dollars with a party of four and it was worth it. The 6 course meal we ordered was the 100$ and the sushi/sashimi combination was 70$. If you love going to sushi restaurants this is the best, but i have to stress the importance of spending big. It's worth the money.”

“Very dissappointed. All 4 of us were unhappy with our entrees. For appetizers, my shrimp spring rolls had shrimp that weren't totally deveined. YUK. My friend's pot stickers were salty but lacked normal spices. The bass entree, on the menu, doesn't say anything about being dissected into spikes of fish, to look nice and then, batter dipped and fried. Result is, you can't even peel off the batter and just eat the fish. The carmelized sweet and sour sauce was just too sweet. My friends pork stuffed with crab was nothing to write home about. 2 of us ordered the bass on the waitress recommendation and it's one of the priciest dishes. The last one ordered Kung Pau Chicken, on menu sounds like chicken with mushrooms and some veggies. She didn't know that this is a spicy dish and has an ulcer and couldn't eat itl. Again, menu lacked detail. My individual bill: 2 glasses of house chardonnay, $20, spring rolls(2) $8, bass entree $33 plus tax and tip, a very dissappointing $75 meal. I don't mind price if it is somewhat worthy, this was not. Nothing was great, most wasn't good, and the vast majority was bad.”
