• Hush puppies were great.
• The fish was over cooked and dried out.

“The food was great and that was 2 years ago. Just recently went back to Smithfield for a visit. We were excited about eating at Holt Lake again. We were very disappointed. The total meal was terrible. We will not go back there again.”

• Food prepared very well, great salad bar.
• Allows smoking in the restaurant, but does have a non smoking section and we were not bothered by others smoking.

“Excellent salad bar that comes with every meal. The steak was cooked just right. The baked potatoes was a little over done, but still good because I got to smother it with sour cream, fresh graded cheese and real bacon bits from the salad bar.”

• More space.

“This is the best fried chicken ever! You've got to taste it. The Chicken Barn was voted #1 chicken by Smithfield Herald readers several times over the past few years. Been in business since the 70's and owned by the same local family, so it's got to be good, huh? They have recently remodeled and it's truly a place worth visiting. It's only a couple of miles off of I-95, so it's convenient for travelers to visit as well. Excellent customer service. Been a favorite of mine for a long time. Try the wingettes, also. ”
