Zest Cafe And Home Art
Oct 7, 2008 by lee from san mateo,ca

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1
Food:[3] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[1]

  • Not any.
  • A lot.

“I have seen the owner and his wife yell at female customers. The owner yelled at a female customer complaining about service, his wife yelled at a female customer that asked for a female waitress. She said it is none of your business. Waitresses are a problem. They try to sell cosmetics or tickets for a fund raiser. They also tell customers they need money and will only give service to females that look like have a lot of money. The waitresses tend to be rude to female customers. Just walk away from female customers without explanation. and not come back. Some waitresses just walk away from customers to gossip with co-workers. Some of the waitresses complain about management and the hostess is rude to, she is only nice to groups with males and the female cashiers are rude continually to female customers and only nice to male customers. They will not volunteer to wait on female customers and sometimes will wait on two females at a time. The waitresses push food from the tables, crumbs onto the floor and will not pick them up, though I saw one waitress pick up food from the floor and not wash her hands.”

Zest Cafe And Home Art
Aug 26, 2008 by Fred Gee from Raleigh

Overall Rating: 2 User Rating Score: 2
Food:[5] • Service:[2] • Atmosphere:[5]

  • Decent food.
  • Awful management.

“If overpriced gifts, overpriced food, and bad management are your thing, visit Zest. We used to be regular customers to the restaurant, but the food prices went up, and the manager's idiosyncrasies became downright customer un-friendly. At our last and final visit, he actually refused to fix a meal that was badly prepared and told us that we had to order something different.”

Zest Cafe And Home Art
Aug 12, 2008 by Fred from Raleigh, NC

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1

  • Decent food.
  • Awful management.

“We used to be regular customers here. The food is priced high, but we thought we were getting good value. Then we started to see some inconsistency, and had to send back some food once because it was overcooked. Everything was ok with that (no apologies, though) however today we had lunch and had to send back a turkey burger that was burnt. The manager came back and told us that he would not re-make it, it was cooked the way it was supposed to be and in fact, we could order anything else on the menu but we were not allowed to get another turkey burger! He did not even apologize for the burnt food nor did he engage us in discussion or ask us what he could do to make things better. Bottom line, he is a individual who should not be in a service industry. Buyer beware - if you have problems here, don't expect any of the kind of customer service you should expect from a high-priced bistro - you won't get it. We walked out and won't be back.”

Raleighwood Cinema Grill
Jun 15, 2008 by Denise from Raleigh

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9
Food:[10] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • Great movies, food and spirits.
  • The get their movies 4-5 weeks after they come out.

“The logo says it all great movies, food and spirits. Our favorite movie theater, and the highest rated one in the Triangle, we have been going there for years. They serve you food and drinks as you watch the movie! Very popular so get their early at least 30 minutes before movie show time. Movie admission is only $4.50/2.50 and the two theaters are upscale and spotlessly clean. No kids under 18 without their parents so it's not overrun with teenagers.”

Bahama Breeze 3005
Jun 10, 2008 by Anita from Clayton

Overall Rating: 7 User Rating Score: 7
Food:[7] • Service:[7] • Atmosphere:[7]

  • Nicely decorated and feels like a special event outing.
  • Seemed basic in many ways, lacked the pinache of fine dining.

“Neighbors all encouraged us to go, but I found it over-rated. It is what I would expect for the prices. Can get very loud, but it was not the "wow-factor" that people had led me to expect. Our server was kind and attentive; allowed my hubby to flirt gently (important to us old farts) and kept her sense of humor throughout. I would recommend to others who wanted a special event place, just wouldn't drum it too high!”

Two Guys Restaurant
Jun 10, 2008 by Anita from Clayton

Overall Rating: 6 User Rating Score: 6
Food:[6] • Service:[6] • Atmosphere:[5]

  • Italian - Americanized food that is filling and portions generous.
  • Run down from countless NCSU students passing through.

“Generous portions in a NC State atmosphere, always tends to be crowded and at times feels dirty in the dining areas. Stripped bare by the traffic, this place is obviously well-loved by the students. Hillsborough Street would not be my choice to bring little children, but older kids-teens etc. are going to enjoy it.”

Overall Rating: 2 User Rating Score: 2
Food:[8] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[1]

  • Waitress was very good.
  • They don't respond to complaints.

“Rude treatment at Johnny Carinos in Briar Creek by manager Leslie. Letter of complaint to region mgr. Rob Newblat has gone unanswered. I will tell anyone interested about their attitude and lack of customer satisfaction follow up.”

Kuki Japanese Restaurant
Nov 12, 2007 by Ryan from Greensboro, NC

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9
Food:[10] • Service:[8] • Atmosphere:[9]

  • The rolls are very imaginative.
  • When busy, the service can get slightly slack.

“Delicious! A very small restaurant, but amazing sushi! You have to try the wolf pack roll; you'll want to ask for it specially made at every Japanese restaurant here after.”

Angus Barn Restaurant
Nov 3, 2007 by Alice from Reston, VA

Overall Rating: 4 User Rating Score: 4
Food:[5] • Service:[9] • Atmosphere:[4]

  • Very good service.
  • Too expensive for what you get.

“I have been hearing about this place for years and how wonderful it is. We moved here recently and decided to try it. Quite frankly, I don't get it. The food is ok, the atmosphere leaves nothing to be desired and the prices are outrageous. I will say the service is very good but the dollar value is just not worth it in my opinion.”

Waraji Japanese Restaurant
Nov 18, 2006 by Eric from raleigh

Overall Rating: 4 User Rating Score: 4
Food:[8] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[4]

  • Great fish.
  • Long wait, poor customer service, lousy sushi bar experience.

“To long of a wait is the bottom line here. Sushi bar etiquette is non existent here. You won¿t get one piece of sushi at a time you will wait an hour or longer at the sushi bar and then you will receive your whole meal. Poor customer service! Great fish but they can¿t deliver it!”

Overall Rating: 7 User Rating Score: 7
Food:[7] • Service:[8] • Atmosphere:[5]

“First of all this restaurant was never Crawleys; it was Crowley's. It is now Edwards Mill restaurant and the review I have submitted is for that restaurant. It is a typical neighborhood place. Very pleasant when weather permits outside dining.”

  • The atmosphere is very authentic!
  • Maybe have a few more lighter choices for food.

Crystal Palace
Jun 5, 2006 by Beth from Wilson

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10
Food:[10] • Service:[10] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • The attentive staff, atmosphere, and grill!.
  • Being stuffed after leaving...

“Crystal Palace has to be the best Chinese restaurant in our area. Our whole family loves it and we never leave dissatisfied The food is amazingly good and there is a large variety. Not only is there a huge buffet full of typical Chinese dishes but there is also a grill where you can get things such as grilled zucchini (which is delicious!) along with grilled tomatoes, eggplant, chicken, salmon, and ribs. The restaurant also includes a salad bar, kids bar, and dessert bar, which is stocked with fruit, cookies, banana pudding, carrot cake, and lemon-meringue pie, to name a few items. Not only is the food excellent, but the staff is very hard-working and attentive. The atmosphere is also beautiful with its dimmed lights, fish aquariums, ample space, and cleanliness. The only regret I have when going to Crystal Palace, is that I've eaten way too much!”

Assaggios Italian Bistro
May 12, 2006 by Todd from Raleigh

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9
Food:[10] • Service:[10] • Atmosphere:[8]

  • Pizzas, Market, Service.
  • Nothing Negative.

“The food is excellent. Pizzas are huge and delicious. They have a nice market inside where you can get all kinds of imported Italian foods. The atmosphere to eat in is nothing special, although there's nothing wrong with it. It is like a little cafe. Great food and service, and convenient location between N. Raleigh and the Brier Creek area. if you are traveling and staying in RTP it is worth the few extra miles...”

Andys Pizza
Apr 6, 2006 by Howard from Oxford

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10
Food:[10] • Service:[10] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • Fast, great price, awesome staff
  • I live too far away.

“The Original Andy's Pizza is awesome, its been there for over 30 years, great pizza, I loved the salad bar. The put quality before quantity. You just have to try the Greek pizza; the fetta, tomatoes, onions, and black olives are a prefect match. I can't wait to get back to Raleigh to eat a REAL PIZZA again!”
