“I love the Marinara Sauce at Trombino's! It's so rich and tomato-ee that I'm happy to not eat it all at the table and eat it again tomorrow. The portions are huge - you could probably share if you're not that hungry.”

“When I went to this restaurant, supposedly Italian, I was taken into a room so dark I was unable to see my food or drink with the same music repeating in the background the whole time. Our server was disgusting. He was too brief, the food he brought was cold. But worse of all, my wife saw him take a bite of our food as he was rounding the corner, and not just us. The food was tasteless, all the meat and pasta was way overcooked, and the sauces used to cover the horrid taste. The veal picatta had too many capers, and the sauce was broken, and the veal was of a horrid quality. Worst of all I spent the rest of the night hugging my toilet.”

“Such a wonderful dining experience, my husband and I eat here at just about every special occasion. You have to ask for a booth in the back to get the romantic experience. The service is exceptional, and the food is amazing! I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a special meal.”

“I ate there this weekend. I was very disappointed that they changed their fries, which was one of the reasons I went there. I believe they used to use fresh potatoes, but now I believe they are using frozen ones. Well, if you do stop by and wonder why the fries are not as great as you hear now you know the reason. I personally won't go there again.”

“They were out of my first choice of everything I wanted. from sandwich to dessert and it was still very early in the day. When I remarked that I wasn't doing too well at selecting things, I was invited to go eat somewhere else. I decided to take that advice. I haven't been back. Nor do I remember being treated so rudely in a restaurant ever.”

“This is no more than a drive through fried chicken stand manned by young kids who have no idea of customer service. Like many things in New Mexico, a state sorely lacking in good, healthy food, it has a very overrated reputation. The chicken is merely OK. The mashed potatoes are bland and pasty. The ribs greasy and hours old. Unless you are starving and don't mind a bout of intestinal rebellion, try something else.”

“The food here is authentic Thai and well prepared. One dish, I usually request, which isn't on the menu is pineapple shrimp in yellow curry and it's excellent. My family physician, (Chinese), has said this is his favorite restaurant in Albuquerque. I've been a, very, loyal customer for 7 years but have yet to try Bangkok Cafe which I'll review sometime! This is a great place to bring the family as the menu offers something for everyone and the Tom Yum Goong (hot and sour shrimp) curry base is the same one I use (which a friend sent me from Thailand). The atmosphere is a bit old and worn looking but the staff are friendly and helpful so this is, easily, overlooked (in my opinion).”

“The tables are linen covered, but then covered with butcher paper giving less than the ambiance of Carabas. The wine list is impressive, but they have none in stock. The bread was stale as we found that they do not bake it there. It is delivered weekly and heated there to make us think they baked it (nice). My in-laws recently visited us and my wife and I wanted to take them for a nice dinner. We arrive for our reservation to have the manager sit us at the front of the restaurant for over 30 minutes while being ignored and watching people who arrived after us without reservations seated prior to us. When I said something to the manager, she said "let me get you a glass of wine". I don't know where she obtained this wine, but it certainly was not from a bottle. Finally we are seated and when our food arrives after a short eternity, we faced further disappointment. The food (as they call it) was Luke warm and substandard. The pastas were undercooked (not aldente, undercooked) and the meats were tough and tasteless, as if they had been frozen and refrozen. My mother-in-law could not even palate her $29 rib eye steak. When we requested assistance from our waiter, he went to the manager, and older woman whom we heard across the restaurant raised her voice to the waiter saying "I don't have time!" never came to assist. Strangely, she was doing nothing but talking to the cook while having what appeared to be a cocktail. The waiter then went to another manager who was a very young looking woman who said, "I will be right there." She quickly disappeared into the bar where I later saw her sitting, never to return to our table. We were more than outraged and embarrassed. Finally, we chose to pay for our disappointing dinner and leave. The only person who even attempted to give us a good dinner was our waiter who I feel very sorry for. At least he cared enough to try....”

“The restaurant experience was phenomenal from the beginning to end. We had an energetic waiter who was fun, and friendly, and had extensive wine and food knowledge. The waiter was timely and remembered all 10 of our orders in his head without any mistakes (not to mention gorgeous). I would definitely recommend this place to my friends and family. I had the Almond Crusted Halibut, and my husband had a steak, both were the best I have had in Albuquerque.”

“Disorganized and confused seating there were two waiting lists going at the same time and customers who had been waiting were not being seated; new arrivals were. The hostess was absent; the manger was preoccupied; the wait staff was arriving after opening; the staff was more interested in private conversations that focus upon the customers.”

“Nice for the value, if you have no taste buds. May 2007 we were in town for a family social event. Hostess was too busy on the phone to set us as we walked in we waited 20 minutes while she planned something via the phone. She didn't she drop crackers when we were sat with a small child, even after we asked. Wait staff was "bothered" by our child, yes she was a little loud but once we gave her a cracker she was fine. If we had been sat right away our daughter would have eaten before she got loud, the staff can't handle families! Food, out of the 8 people who eat not 1 order was 100% correct. The salad looked to be a week old, it was uneatable! Go to Olive Garden or Nanas there food is good and they welcome you!”

“I moved here from New Jersey in 2005. Like most people from their and New York. Living on the west coast is a big change especially when it comes to finding a good pizza, which is taken for granted in jersey with pizza parlors on every corner. My son found pizza castle first, and told me he was going there almost every other day the pizza is like home and for under five bucks he can get two slices and a drink. I tried it during my lunch break. The service was slow I ordered two slices and I had to wait approximately 15 minutes but it was worth the wait the pizza was made fresh and I got the first two slices out of a fresh pie. I find the pizza there is the closest to what real jersey and NY pizza is supposed to taste like. The atmosphere is another story, the seats can use some reupholster and the carpet needs to be replaced with maybe some tile. its pretty dingy, but the food makes up for it.”

“A wonderful Italian restaurant. Although trombones are not for those on a budget, its prices are not too high. But if you like a good Italian restaurant with great food, atmosphere, service, and an excellent wine list, trombones is your place.”

“Our meal included a steak that was "bad" and we didn't see our waiter from time of order until we left, other servers brought out our food, etc. We didn't get asked about wanting beverage refills, assumed we would want dessert in lieu of spoiled meat and the waiter wouldn't look us in the eye. Around us there were other servers who were awesome, the bread was great, would have liked to have been asked if we wouldn't have enjoyed more, we didn't order dessert but weren't asked if we wanted coffee or tea, manager brushed us off when we politely told the server about the bad meat. We didn't make a fuss; we just wanted to make sure the kitchen knew something was off. Never again will I go back.”

“Albuquerque's "66 diner" is a nostalgic throwback to bygone days of appropriately, the 60s, and "route 66," a.k.a. Central avenue. Lots of chrome, and vinyl stools and booths, "blue plate specials," plate sized cheeseburgers, authentic malts, music, and waitress uniforms that would have made the "happy days" crowd...well, happy! Fun for the kids of all ages, and especially those of the "baby boomer" generations. Prices are moderate, and the food is plentiful, and good. ”

“This hole in the wall restaurant serves the most authentic delicious Mexican food in town. Known to locals who stand in line for a table. The line moves quickly (even when it seems unbelievable). The service is very prompt, friendly and your food is there in minutes. Specials served during the week (carne) bring an ever bigger crowd and lots of take home customers. A treat and a true value.”

“This is fast food New Mexico style. The breakfast burrito's are amazing. The green sauce is the best. The lunch burritos offer many choices, and try with the red and green sauces together, Christmas. I get a craving for Twisters at least once a week. Very good value! Their iced tea is the great. Highly recommend this place. Many locations throughout the area.”

“I'm a wing-fanatic, and wing basket has the BEST I've ever had! I will order from them every chance I get! Their fries are very good with a slightly different taste, I think their sprinkled with salt AND sugar. They have a variety of flavors of which I have tried all! Their classic hot is for the spice lovers, but if your a heat seeker kick it up a notch with their fiery hot flavor. Their bbq wings are also my favorite. Their lemon pepper and garlic parmesam are equally good, very creative angle to wings. Near a wing basket and looking for food? This is a MUST HIT spot! Enjoy!”

“El Patio New Mexican food is outstanding! Get the flan (if you have room left over as their portions are rather large). I have house guests on regular occasion and when I want them to have a New Mexican dining experience, I take them to El Patio. We can sit and relax on the patio outside with tasty margaritas and spicy green chili. Although I prefer outside dining in Albuquerque weather, the inside is nice: a converted home where you can see right into the kitchen as they home cook everything for you. In case you want to bring that taste home they also offer jars of their green chili for around $5. Just like everywhere in Abq, the crowd is mixed from casual college kids, those in bus. attire, families and dates. The prices are very reasonable. Enjoy! ”

“Salad Bar was extremely fresh and offered a diverse range of cold and hot foods. My steak was cooked perfectly, and tasted great. The quality of food and the reasonable price made this a great stop. ”

“I went to Charlie's with my 84 year-old father, expecting to spend an enjoyable, relaxed evening out. I hadn't spent time with my father in a while, and I wanted to try out a new restaurant. The service was prompt, and the food was okay. The chips and tortillas were very stale. I think they use cheddar on their enchiladas. After 24 minutes exactly, a teenage boy working there tapped on my shoulder, "Is that all for you guys? We've got a bunch of people waiting for your table." I looked at him in shock. We had barely been there. I had eaten about one-third of my meal. Then, about five minutes later, the manager asked me, "Are you expecting me to put your food in a to-go box?" They obviously didn't want us around. For the next half-hour, the manager stared at us almost constantly, told waiting customers that we were holding up their table, and then those customers would look at us, too. I couldn't believe it. My father felt so uncomfortable, we could hardly keep up a conversation. The manager was doing this to other customers, too. Even the elderly couple sitting next to us. They took the hint and left, though. I expect to be in a restaurant for at least an hour. Not at this place. If you want their so-so food, you might as well order it to-go.”

“Actually I am forwarding some comments I received from a visitor to our city. This gentleman from San Diego has Celiac Disease (gluten intolerance) and had contacted me prior to coming here as I represent the Albuquerque Gluten Intolerance Support Group. I had not included La Crepe Michelle in a short list of ABQ restaurants for him, but he had such great experience at your restaurant that he shared it with me. Now, I can recommend it to our members and visitors who require gluten-free foods. Here is what he said: "I also wanted to share what may be a new find with you. The brother-in-law and family had been here for conference/ vacation a few years ago and found a crepe restaurant in Old Town which they really wanted to revisit. At worst, we figured a small place would be able to produce something suitable (gluten-free). As it turns out, Le Crepe Michele (400 San Felipe St NW # C2, 505 242 1251) was excellent. They offer crepes made from buckwheat, and the fellow who waited on us (a tall blonde man) said his girlfriend was gluten intolerant, and he knew all about it. He was wonderful, and took excellent care of us (and me). I'm not sure if he's the head waiter, chef, or owner, but he was all over it. For example, when the server delivered my dinner, he saw that the kitchen had put potatoes au gratin on my plate. I noticed him frown, and before I could raise the item with anyone, he swooped in, apologized, took the plate away, and said he'd bring me a clean plate - which appeared shortly. At dessert, he mentioned that he didn't put any whipped cream on my dish because there was a stabilizer listed that he wasn't sure of. Oh - one more thing - this was all after squeezing us - a party of six - in without a reservation. "What a wonderful tribute especially from an out of state visitor! I would definitely relay this to all our members.”

“This is one of the places for "power lunches" for professionals who think they are impressing clients and colleagues. It's a "see and be seen" kind of restaurant. The atmosphere is snooty, but fortunately the food is always excellent, if you can get your wait staff to remember you're actually a paying customer.”

“Annie's is a unique, local restaurant. The decor a little bit much on the "country side" but it's "homey." Majority of patrons are local old ladies who are die-hard loyal customers. Food tastes like grandma made it, if grandma still cooked. Overall, it's a fun place with solid, dependable food.”

“This is the best little chicken wing place. Every time I travel to Albuquerque I have to stop. Their Lemon Pepper wings are the best. What's better is that they let you purchase the sauce so you can take it home and make your own. ”

“Having had a good meal and good service from Jason on one occasion, we were ready to make the Cooperage one of our favorites. Now I doubt that we will ever return, unless it's for the salad bar. On my birthday on December 6, we were seated in a small room with four tables, right under some irritatingly flashing Xmas lights. Not sure why, as there were plenty of other tables available. The waiter was kind enough to let us move, as well as the next 2 couples the hostess attempted to seat there. It was drafty and freezing cold in some areas of the restaurant. I ordered fillet and crab legs, and my hubby ordered one of the big steaks. Our food arrived before we'd had a chance to eat a few bites of salad and it was barely warm. Sent the big steak back for warming, but there was so much gristle that hubby ultimately traded it for some mediocre prime rib. Fillet was tepid, potato barely warm and hard, dry and undercooked, and crab legs were stone cold. Waiter Colby was attentive, though he made excuses for the poor food, rather than takes responsibility or get a manager who would. What a way to ruin what I'd hoped would be a special birthday meal! We won't go back. Don't recommend.”
