Soonja's Cafe With Sushi
Jul 7, 2009 by Sean from Plainsboro

Overall Rating: 7 User Rating Score: 7
Food:[7] • Service:[7] • Atmosphere:[7]

  • Good sushi.
  • Bad ramen.

“Sushi is fairly good for the price at least. However, there ramen leaves much to be desired. The Salmon Miso Rament taste extremely bland. The miso stock is very diluted. Miso ramen should be rich in the miso flavor and I did not find any miso taste until the last bit of soup. Not worth nearly $10. The ramen itself is a grade above instant, but no where near what true ramen should taste like. It lacks any firmness whatsoever. The entire meal just seemed tasteless. The sushi on the other hand is pretty good, definitely the best bang for the buck in the area. For over that Sushi Palace will offer better value with their AYCE.”

Sunny Garden
Nov 5, 2008 by Keith from Englishtown

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9
Food:[9] • Service:[10] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • Food, atmosphere and parking.
  • Hard to spot at first.

“The decor gets your attention at first, the entire experience is very different from PF Changs across the street. The sushi...excellent, try the tower of tuna thing, as good as it gets, looks like something from the food channel. Great value and atmosphere for me, wife and kids. Seems more formal than it actually is, very friendly and staff and service is very polished, unlike other chinese restaurants. Believe it's under new ownership, like the fact it's byob. Overall, food is great & the service is professional & friendly.”

Tre Piani
Mar 27, 2008 by George from New York City

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10
Food:[10] • Service:[10] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • The seafood was incredibly fresh and we haven't had osso buco that good even in Italy.
  • It is a shame that there is only one location.

“We found this to be some of the best Italian food that we ever had. Being frequent diners at the best that NYC has to offer, we were pleasantly surprised at how good the food at this place in the middle of Jersey was. We highly reccomend and will make the reverse commute often. Great wine list and service as well.”

Sakura Express
Sep 19, 2007 by j from princeton, nj

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9
Food:[9] • Service:[8] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • Great quality food, great price, great people.
  • Is very popular, so indoor seating is limited. Don't be afraid to eat at the bar though, the sushi chefs are super friendly!

“$20 can easily buy a lunch or dinner for 2 (with leftovers) at this Princeton mainstay. The sushi is fresh and abundant, the staff friendly and funny. Favorites are spicy tuna, chirashi bowl, squash avocado rolls (lots of vegetarian options), unagi don, and the pickled vegetables at the salad bar. (PS: the comics in the bathroom are not for the faint of heart)!”

Princetonian Restaurant
Jul 23, 2007 by neal from princeton

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10
Food:[8] • Service:[9] • Atmosphere:[9]

  • Good food, good service, friendly staff.
  • Nothing.

“I love this place; I've been eating here for almost 20 years. The staff is friendly and the service excellent. Its diner food - good dinner food, lots of it (i.e. large portions) and well prepared at very reasonable prices. I got out of my way to eat here.”

Sunny Garden
Jul 23, 2007 by neal from princeton

Overall Rating: 4 User Rating Score: 4
Food:[4] • Service:[5] • Atmosphere:[8]

  • Not much.
  • Not in the least bit authentic, surly service.

“you want real, authentic Chinese food? don't go here! this food is overpriced and features American versions of Chinese food - many dishes are nothing like the food I ate during my 12 years in china, and many commonly eaten dishes in china are not on the menu here.”

P Js Pancake House
Jul 23, 2007 by neal from princeton

Overall Rating: 3 User Rating Score: 3
Food:[3] • Service:[2] • Atmosphere:[5]

  • It was close to where I live.
  • Pretty much everything about the place.

“This place has been around forever, and is still popular - maybe that's the problem. People line up outside for a chance to eat very mediocre diner food. Even for diner food, the quality is poor, the service indifferent, and the prices high. I suppose they can get away with it because it's been around so long that everyone wants to say they ate at PJ's. I can say it too.”

Zorbas Grill Takeout
Jan 12, 2007 by Jacqui from Princeton, NJ

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9
Food:[9] • Service:[10] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • Everything you could want from a take out place!
  • Place is very tiny.

“Just a hole in the wall, take out kind of place. But, the food is excellent! The services are excellent, and the atmosphere for such a tiny space which is often filled to capacity is excellent. The great thing about this place is that the quality of the food is consistently good. I have been going there for lunch for years.”

Peacock Inn The
Mar 10, 2006 by Susan from Basking Ridge

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1
Food:[2] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[1]

  • Nothing.
  • Rude, arrogant manager.

“I stayed there one dreadful night in January with my daughter. The steam radiator burst while we were out at dinner and when we returned the alarm was ringing and the beds and all our clothes were wet from the condensation from the steam. My daughter and I were forced to triple up in the two other rooms our extended family were in. There was no heat at all in the room I stayed in and there was a snowstorm that night. Needless to say, the room was freezing. No one was downstairs at the manager's desk, so I had to spend the night under the blankets fully clothed with my coat on. ”

Peacock Inn The
Jul 23, 2005 by Majorie. from Tulsa OK

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10
Food:[10] • Service:[10] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • Very pretty restaurant, wonderful food, good wine selection

“We discovered the Peacock Inn by accident while we were lost one day. We enjoyed our Inn stay so much that we decided to use their restaurant as a venue for a family reunion a few months later. We were very pleased. The food was terrific -- great flavor, pretty plates. Staff worked with us so the kitchen could provide us with a wonderful meal within our budget. The servers, couldn't have been nicer. We lingered for hours catching up on lots of details and memories. The staff set up a big screen for a family slide show. Everyone enjoyed themselves immensely.”
