“Show was excellent. Would highly recommend for special occasions - with children. They got a kick out of our personal chef!”

“Exceptional service and atmosphere. Absolutely enjoyed the experience. Some of the best local brewed beer that I've found. You must try it.”

“Although the restaurant is priced reasonably, some of the food flavors really arent that great. You wont leave hungry though if you buy enough. Each food, vegetable, salad, dessert are all priced separately. So like if you get Turkey, with dressing and gravy. 2 vegetables a piece of pie, and a glass of tea you pay about eleven dollars. The downer side to this is you supposed to have a member of the waiter staff to come around and see if you need a drink refill or anything, and in the two times Ive been to this restaurant Ive had to flag someone down, Im not sure if they are understaffed or if their staff just cant handle the job.”

“The best sushi I have had. It was all fresh. The service is good. The sushi chef is the best. This is my new Japanese spot.”

“My husband and I had a nice dinner date at The Barn. The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was very nice. I ordered the Filet Oscar. The Filet itself was a nice cut and very tender. However, I could barely taste it or the crab and asparagus that accompanied it from all the Bearnaise sauce that was slathered over it. I also ordered the stuffed potato, which had an interesting taste that my husband and I both thought was an excessive amount of garlic. My husband ordered the Chicken Italiano, which he thought was a great variation of chicken cordon bleu. It was also covered in sauce, but he enjoyed his meal. My husband and I will definitely give The Barn another chance.”

“Three of us had dinner at Red Lobster Saturday at around 4 pm Saturday, the 3rd of January 2009. The waiter was pretty good and he forgot one person's water, when reminded he got it. I ordered the Ultimate Feast, the lobster was overcooked and it was very hard to remove from the shell. I remember in the past when it was firm not hard and on top of the shell. This one was settled inside and very hard. Most of the crab legs were puny and hollow. The baked potato was good, the salad was pitiful but typical of Red Lobster. The bread was very good and hot. Red Lobster was my favorite place to go, but the last couple of times I went, stopped me from going back. Saturday proved that this will be my last time.”

“When I came into the restaurant it had a nice atmosphere, decor was very nice. The hostess's were not that friendly however. Our appetizer was pretty good and our main course was good, not seasoned enough, but good. We had good service from an older woman. However, it looked like much of the wait staff was just playing around and standing around. After dinner we went to the bar for a cocktail. The bartender was very nice, she made some suggestions on martini's. Overall, we would go back and would recommend.”

“By far the best restaurant in Fayetteville. When it comes to quality and great service they are the best. My wife and I go at least once a week, and have never had a bad experience.”

“Me and my husband and my son and his girlfriend enjoyed a wonderful dinner at the Barn last Saturday night. I could not have experienced a more enjoyable dinner. From the appetizer to the dessert everything was wonderful. From the food selection to the preparation everything was over the top. It was truly a fine dining experience! The best restaurant I have ever been to in Fayetteville!”

“Where do I start? This place is very overpriced! Wilted salad bar, unfriendly and old, tired staff. I had a drink before my meal and a very pretentious blonde disdainfully served me. The gentleman next to me informed me she was the bar manager, what a joke! Seems the only thing keeping this place going is the aging locals that are used to this cut rate restaurant. Be aware. Also bigoted atmosphere. Minorities, not really welcome, only tolerated.”

“Our children live out of town. Whenever they come to visit and we are going out to eat, they always suggest 316! The entries are outstanding. Usually when a restaurant is famous for seafood the side orders suffer. Not true at 316. I love your slaw, corn on the cob and fresh salads ! Keep up the good work!”

“Very overpriced. The food is average, the steaks are of a very good quality, but they do not season them at all. The twice baked potatoes are small and dry. They serve cheese whiz as an appetizer.”

“This restaurant is a breath of fresh air compared to a lot of over priced establishments in Fayetteville. The food is rich in flavor and is promptly serviced. The service is great. I recommend for everyone to give this place a try.”

“This place has some great burgers. There aren't too many places that make burgers and hot dogs like this. You must try this place. You can get a burger, fries and drink for $4.00. Yes. I said $4.00. This is a little hole in the wall place. You would never go in there from looking at the outside; however, once you try the food it's amazing. This is a place for good food and gets a local culture. It's not a place to take your date or business meeting. They're extremely busy during lunch. It's a line outside the door.”

“I can't rate the food because we never had a chance to eat it. I was visiting my mother and we decided to go out for lunch on a Saturday. When we got to Joes it wasn't very busy (about 10-15% capacity); yet, the hostess said that we had to wait for a table because they were short servers. About 3 or 4 other families were waiting along with us. They made us wait at the door rather than seat us. A gentleman who arrived after us, and was told there was a 30 minute wait, asked for the manager (for some reason he was in the back room and didn't seem to be concerned about customers waiting at the door). When the gentleman explained his disappointment at the service the manager appeared unaffected. I said to mom, lets go". The gentleman followed out of the restaurant and we both made a comment to a family heading into the restaurant "empty tables, but a 30 minute wait"; at which time the man going in turned towards his family and said, "we are going somewhere else".”

“Overpriced, extremely small portions and the rudest servers I have ever experienced. Would I go back? Never. Would I discourage anyone from ever going? Yes. The waiter acted like a spoiled brat, was slow, said he didn't appreciate my wife's attitude for asking why her salad wasn't delivered when the other 3 in the party got theirs and had the audacity to complain that he usually received 20% for a tip as this was an "elegant" dining establishment or words to that effect. We endured, but his tip wasn't 20%. I would not have left him anything, but the other couple felt he earned $5 for his meager efforts on a $200 bill and we all left hungry.”

“Excellent food, a little expensive, but as compared to Chris's Steak House or Trios, twice the value and portion sizes.”

“We had a rotten restaurant experience. The other night my wife and I went to dinner at The Barn on Bragg. We had dined there quite a few times in the past and both the food and service were excellent. Actually, it was a favorite place for us and our friends when we wanted to dine out and didn't much care how much it cost. Well, things sure have changed there. My wife ordered linguini with white clam sauce and I ordered crab stuffed shrimp. The linguini was drenched in some brownish, greasy sauce that defied description. The stuffed shrimp were tiny little things stuffed with crab tainted bread crumbs. My wife simply couldn't choke down the pasta and asked that the meal be replaced. They sent her a fish platter with a few more of the tiny, cooked to death shrimp, crab tainted breadcrumb cakes and a small overcooked fish fillet of some sort. I decided, since I had lost my appetite anyway not to bother reordering anything else. I called the owner over and told him how we felt. He was apologetic but still sent over our check. It was for $51.00, the full cost of the meals! I wrote him a letter, again expressing how we felt, which was never answered. Needless to say, neither I nor any of my friends will ever eat at The Barn again.”

“They make the best barbecue in Fayetteville or the state in my opinion. This should be a chain instead of some of the others. Barbecue is so tender it melts in your mouth.”

“Interesting place. I would go again, if only for the Fish Tacos. We have been there three times over the years, and have been pleased each time. Certainly not a destination restaurant, but a good place for an easy lunch/dinner.”

“It is so sad, as a European, to see what some folks do to their cuisine. You enter the restaurant and have your hopes up for true Italian ambient and cuisine. The usual American booths and plastic tables, no tablecloths. Oh well. At least the food is authentic? The original owner, now deceased, was from Sicily; and the menu is full with choices from Tuscany. But the worst thing is, I see it all the time: Can I have some cheese on my seafood Alfredo? Never fails, it is on this menu, too. Cheese and seafood, every true Italian would slap you in the face if you asked for this cheese sauce with seafood. The flavor of cheese is too pronounced to be served with seafood. All in all, if you decide to drop in for some pasta, try the Chicken Elleora. ”

“ We like the steaks at this restaurant. The wait staff are friendly; but a bit slow sometimes. We are non-smokers and sometimes we end up sitting in the smokers area as it is lower than the non-smokers level and hence, less smoky from cigarettes. When we are seated in non-smokers section on a busy day, the cigarette smoke drifts upwards which I don't like, so I just move to the lower level.”

“Best seafood restaurant in North Carolina. I didn't like know I liked seafood until I ate here. You can dress up or dress down. It has the style of a 50's era diner, complete with "rock-n-roll" music", neon lights and a low-light, casual atmosphere. Not your usual fried fish southern restaurant, either. There is a separate oyster bar where the food is cooked in front of you. Full bar while you wait. Challenge yourself with a rooster shooter and get a free "T". The restaurant caters well to large parties. After eating fine-dining California seafood, 316 Oyster Bar is still one of my favorites. Go early, it is a very popular restaurant. I have not tried the desert, yet.”

“Perfect. Absolutely perfect. I can't stop thinking about how good the food is! The hush puppies served before the meal are fantastic, and a great touch. We did ask for a second batch before ordering our appetizers! The grilled Tilapia is the best I have ever tasted, and the side orders are great too. I highly recommend the 316 Oyster Bar. Actually, at this very moment I'm doing a Goggle search to find a 316 near my location in Washington, DC, but to no avail *tear*. It's a shame more of these restaurants aren't around. Until one surfaces near me, I'll continue to travel to Fayetteville, NC from Washington, DC for my monthly supply pf hush puppies and Tilapia. The service is great (well worth the wait, mostly busy on the military pay days), and the staff is friendly and helpful. HIGHLY recommended. Two thumbs WAY up!”

“Captain J's is a small restaurant, however, it is the oldest and still standing seafood restaurant in Fayetteville for a reason. With cheap prices and good, fresh seafood, you will definitely enjoy a meal in this southern atmosphere establishment. They serve beer and wine and have a jukebox.”
