Aangan Rest & Caterers
Dec 15, 2008 by Clirr

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9
Food:[10] • Service:[9] • Atmosphere:[9]

  • I liked their value menu - food is always great.
  • Desserts are all dairy based.

“Don't have to say a whole lot - it was a perfect experience. I have always liked this place but I love it for the value menu they have added with the specials. I have read reviews about gratuity at lunch etc. I have never had lunch there but the waiters depend on tips - I don't think it is unreasonable. There are not many places that list prices of specials - Aangan does that.”

Moore's Inn
Oct 29, 2008 by K.Nielsen from Brooklyn-Freehold

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8
Food:[8] • Service:[10] • Atmosphere:[8]

  • Great meeting place for fellow freeholders.
  • I don't like bars that face bottles of liquor; square or rectangular bars are best!

“This place has come a long way since the 70's when it looked like a strong wind gust could have blown it away. I met up with two friends here last Saturday. They ordered 20 huge chicken wings for $8; I ordered a chicken pot pie. Prices were excellent (well, compared to my current city of residence, Long Beach, CA) and the servers were nice and very accommodating.”

Food:[10] • Service:[9] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • Great food and relaxing atmosphere.
  • No liquor license.

“I went to this place for the first time last night - WOW! The best food and they don't skimp on extras. No charge for basmati rice and poppadam - where do you see that. One dessert I had - Khulfi was to die for. No wonder they are the highest Zagat rated Indian restaurant.”

Golden Bell Diner
Feb 9, 2008 by Jessica from Hamilton

Overall Rating: 2 User Rating Score: 2
Food:[1] • Service:[3] • Atmosphere:[3]

  • Nobody died.
  • The food, the service, the prices.

“This place was disgusting. The dessert carousel was filled with old, dried out desserts, my tuna fish was served warm and it smelled old, and the French fries were uncooked. Oh, and did I mention that even the soda was flat? The hostess was rude and condescending, the server couldn't be bothered. The ceiling was covered with a thick layer of dust.”

Golden Bell Diner
Dec 22, 2007 by Ron from Freehold

Overall Rating: 3 User Rating Score: 3
Food:[2] • Service:[5] • Atmosphere:[6]

  • Nothing.
  • Everything.

“This restaurant epitomizes mediocrity in American dining. The desserts look great but taste like cardboard. The service s, at best. While there may be 1,000,000 items on the menu, most are various inversions of others, and all are bland and of poor quality. If you don't like food, this is your place.”

Lorenzos Restaurant
Oct 20, 2007 by Sean from Freehold

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10
Food:[10] • Service:[8] • Atmosphere:[9]

  • The food.
  • Parking can be a challenge on busier nights.

“Lorenzo's is one of Monmouth county's best kept secrets. Located in the heart of the freehold downtown district, this 15 year old restaurant is still on the top of its game. Chef Lorenzo specializes in northern Italian cuisine but can make most any dish to order. The complimentary Bruschetta is an excellent way to begin the meal followed by fresh bread and a glass of house wine. For an appetizer we chose the Antipasto which was better than most others. As an entree we chose the Chicken sorrentino. Unique, and superb! We finished by splitting a most delightful tiramisu. all in all, an excellent meal. We waited too long for the check at the end, and the parking lot was going through some construction but all in all we had a great experience. Lorenzo's gets our strong recommendation.”

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10
Food:[10] • Service:[10] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • High quality food and service.
  • Nothing.

“Everything we've tried off the menu is Excellent!! It may be more expensive than those chain restaurants, $39 for drink, appetizer, salad, meal, and dessert, but well worth it! (or you can choose ala carte if you're not as hungry, about $20 or so per meal). Portions are big, we always come home with leftovers. It's also BYOB, which is a plus. Highly recommended!! :)”

Golden Bell Diner
Apr 27, 2007 by Lisa from Freehold

Overall Rating: 5 User Rating Score: 5
Food:[2] • Service:[10] • Atmosphere:[3]

  • The waitress was very nice, honest, apologetic and attentive.
  • It was not fair that this place charges people for terrible food.

“I went to the Golden Bell Diner because of a coupon in the paper and the early bird special advertisement for $8.95. I ordered the eggplant after asking the waitress if it was any good. She said it was. I trusted her because she was honest to my husband about the ravioli being frozen. The eggplant came out cold. I sent it back and it when I ate it , it was horrible. I have eaten frozen dinners that have been better. I did tell the waitress and she asked if I wanted something else. I was full at that point andsaid no. My husband's chicken parmigana was fair. My daughter ordered potato pancakes and they were out of them. Her quesadilla was good and her waffle fries were very good. When I paid for the eggplant, I told the manager he said that I should have asked for something else. I think I should have been reinbursed. I know it was only $9.00, but it was money thrown away. I should have ordered something else and took it home. The waitress was very nice.”

Golden Bell Diner
Jul 22, 2006 by Greg from Jackson

Overall Rating: 7 User Rating Score: 7
Food:[8] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[5]

  • Food is good
  • Customer service was horrible on two occasions.

“I have eaten at the Golden Bell diner twice in two weeks. Both times the customer service has been horrible. The waiter on the first occasion and waitress on the second occasion were both horrible. My family and I had to call to the waitress last night as she walked past us. She never came to our table on her own. The diner was not crowded or busy at all at that time. She was also very unfriendly. I will never eat there again because of the customer service. The food was great and I enjoyed the taste.”

Golden Bell Diner
Jul 22, 2006 by Greg from Jackson

Overall Rating: 6 User Rating Score: 6
Food:[9] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[5]

  • Food.
  • Customer service was horrible! Never go there again !

“I have been in this diner on two occasions recently. The food is very good but the customer service is less than desirable I went last night (07/21/2006) with my family. Our waitress had to be called over to the table as she walked past us. She never came over to our table on her own. She also was not very friendly towards us. I reluctantly left a 15%tip because that is what you are supposed to do. I really wanted to leave her a penny and a note explaining what customer service is. When I was there a week earlier I had a similar experience with a male waiter. He was inattentive and unfriendly also. After the first experience I figured it was a fluke and decided to return. They will never get my business again unless they change the customer service.”

“I have lived in England that has some of the best Indian restaurants in the world. This place has been up to par since I have going here for the last three years. The food is authentic Indian - no Americanization of the cuisine. The food is as prepared at Indian homes - it is not hot - and it is not all curry. Absolutely fantastic.”
