• Good Dive bar.
• Should even allow it to be a restaurant.

“We loved this restaurant years ago, good food and service but with recent state laws and the owners sloppy business practices have turned this restaurant into a dive bar. No wonder this place does less then 20% food sales.”

“I live in Maryland but make a trek to Linglestown to visit the Eagle Hotel on visits to family and friends a few times a month. Contrary to the negative interview on this page, I know that the service staff is very professional, and have been going here enough to know the owner takes the customer's satisfaction very seriously. The wings are indeed famous for the area, and I can honestly say that they are the standard to which I measure all wings. Great flavor list as well. All of the servings are fresh, delicious, and big portions for a fair price. The chicken Parm sandwich is my favorite, but everything is good (if you're on a date try the Funnel Of Love Sundae, it's amazing!). If you go to the lounge the beer is always fresh and cold, and the bartenders courteous and prompt. Great relaxed down-home atmosphere. This place has veteran customers for a reason.”

• They could use more seating.

“Leo's is the best! I was a regular customer for years until I moved to Portland Oregon. When I go back the first food I crave is a large Leo's cheese pizza. Leo's is the best in Harrisburg!”

“WOW! My boyfriend and I have heard stories about the Eagles' wings so we finally got over there to try these big wings, we kept hearing about. We travel all over for wings, my boyfriend is addicted! I can't believe how good they were. We had the hot garlic and sweet and tangy. The were truly amazing. Do not go anywhere for wings!”

• Delicious food.
• Parking is the only thing I can think of-it was really that good!

“Just recently went to the Eagle and was very pleased with it! They are known for their wings and crab cakes so we had both. The crab cakes were amazing they had huge chunks of white crab meat in every single bite. My husband loved his wings too. The were large and meaty, not wimpy tiny cheap ones that you get out a lot.”

• Wish there was more space in the building sometimes there is a wait.

“This is my favorite place to go; its very close to me, casual neighborhood feel to it. The food is ALWAYS wonderful and we frequent the Eagle at least 2 times a week for over 5 years. The owners are there often and are very nice and friendly. Most of the food is homemade and you can tell.”

• Fortunately there are other established restaurants and bars nearby, so we can avoid making this mistake twice.
• Late and rude service, cold and overcooked food, definitely not recommended for locals, travelers and/or family dining.

“There wasn't any table seating so we were seated at the bar. We waited so long for our server/bartender to return and take our order, that my wife left to use the restroom. Throughout our dining experience there was a lit sign placed on the floor that was knocked down by patrons not once, not twice, but three times and yes it was loud and annoying. Finally and most importantly, my garlic wings were completely cold when served and my wife's fries were burnt. When I inquired about the cold and burnt food I received no response, just the check. This place is recommended for their wings. Based on my experience, I will not return nor recommend the Eagle Hotel in Linglestown to anyone.”

“The place to go in Harrisburg for good steak and fresh cut fries. Tenderloin is to die for. Prices are a little high, but portions are large so bring an appetite.”

“I visited this shop on Sunday, 6/8 in the afternoon with my sister and a girlfriend. I've been there many times before since I used to live there. The ice cream is always fabulous but I'm disappointed to say that the service we received was not. The young ladies behind the counter acted as if they had never seen black women before. They seemed frightened and I was offended. Not only that I ordered water with my ice cream but ended up forgetting due to their behavior. Not one girl came out of the shop to make sure that I didn't forget it. I live in MD now so it's not like I could turn around and get it. I just felt it was really poor customer service. Thank you.”

• Only downside is you are not allowed to go up or down the cast iron spiral staircase!

“I ordered take out, first time using this restaurant since all I have ever heard about this place is that it's very expensive. I ordered the neon sign advertised seafood Alfred. The food was ready in a timely manner, and the people very pleasant. The only decent part of the meal was the tiny salad I got with it. While digging through the small portion of linguini to find seafood I was very disappointed to find only 2 pieces of shrimp, 2 scallops and 2 clams, with very little Alfred to top. The bread was tasteless. I am very disgusted that this cost me $25.00 and no drink to boot. Gilligans will never see ken enter their doors again. I understand word of mouth is the best advertisement, so I will advertise at any chance I get.”

“The food and service have declined drastically. On a recent visit, the breadsticks were stale (we asked for more and got fresh hot ones), the salad brown and limp and pasta (which used to be homemade on the premises) was seemingly from a box. The variety of sauces, which were a signature of the restaurant are now, sad to say, like something I can pour out of a jar. No garlic. No spices. The only difference between their bland "pomodoro" and the "abbriatta (spicy)" is that the spicy has chopped peppers on it. I think management needs to step up and get back to the old ways of "homemade" and for pete's sake being offered fresh ground pepper and grated cheese wouldn't be too difficult, would it?”

• Front was so dirty I avoided the bathrooms.

“Today the restaurant was filthy. No one had cleaned the counters or tables for hours. Everything was sticky. Condiment station & drink station counters covered in spills & trash. No toys, as promised with kid's meals - mother with young son in front of me waited 15 min. To learn this, walked out unhappy. Received no apology. My suggestion to post a sign, so no one else would have the same negative experience, not taken. No one seemed to care. The only employee who came into the dining room while I was there, got a new pack of napkins for the drive-thru but took no action about the mess, nor did he alert anyone else. Normal situation? I won't go back.”

• Service can be slow and/or poor.

“Pagliaros is a favorite of mine and my husband. The atmosphere can't be beat for a date night. The lasagna is excellent. The only downfall I can think of is that the service can be sketchy depending on who you have for a server. I still would highly recommend this restaurant.”

“The people they have working there are lacking customer service, it is a dirty "hole-in-the-wall" environment, if it wasn't so dirty it would look ok, people there are just flat out rude. I've worked in food service for 6 years, I have never worked with any employees like that more than once or twice only because they got fired for their attitude”

• Every aspect of meal carefully prepared.
• Restaurant is sometimes warm.

“Best restaurant in HBG. Could be dropped in DC or Philly and compete w/ the big boys. Ricotta, mozzarella, and most other offerings are made in house. Cef/owner ALWAYS present. Menu changes often. Repeat customers abound. Can't miss dining experience.”

• Unique entries cooked by a top notch chef.
• A bit small and cramped if full of customers.

“Excellent 5 star food and very good service. Gourmet entries of seafood and meat with great salads and deserts. Set in a small intimate room with a small outdoor patio available. In a restored historical neighborhood right by the river on Front street. Not cheap, expect to pay $100 to $125 with drinks for a couple. Worth the money. ”

• Great service, great prices.
• Out of business thanks to lawsuits.

“I really miss the Chichi, it was a great place to meet for happy hour, the drinks were cheap and service was excellent. The Americanized Mexican food was appetizing and actually looked palatable, unlike the piles of unidentifiable cat food you get at a real Mexican beanery. ”

• Too far away from where I live

“If you like Indian food, this is definitely the place to go. They have a buffet ($7.95) that is truly magnificent. The people are friendly, the food is fresh, and there has been a good variety on the few times I've visited there. We not make a point to go there every time we're in the Harrisburg area.”
