Andover Diner
Dec 7, 2008 by dave from philly

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1
Food:[2] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[4]

  • Large sandwich.
  • Tasteless, tough, rude, expensive and slow.

“Older waitress was way rude. Potatoes were instant and tasteless. Pie was stale. Service was both slow and rude. The sandwich was large, but roast beef was tough. The prices were way high for what you were getting. I am not a fan of fast food as a rule, hence I tried the diner, but I would have preferred a double cheeseburger to this expensive, tasteless, and slow food. I love diners but I would never return to this one. Silk City in Philadelphia, Jenny's in Lancaster, Gap in Gap all wonderful but this one was terrible.”

Perona Farms Inc
Mar 26, 2007 by Jim from Tampa FL

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1
Food:[10] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[5]

  • The smoked salmon. Enjoy it at home or elsewhere.
  • Rude service, arrogant attitude and poor ambiance.

“Perona farms is known the world over for its outstanding smoked salmon, a unique and wonderful 5-generation specialty. Their smoked salmon is worthy of the special mention it gets in fine restaurants and their menus. Nevertheless, the quality of their specialty product does not extend to the quality of service, attitude and ambience in their Sunday bruncheon and holiday buffets. Their bruncheon and buffets are seriously marred by arrogant staff, unfriendly service and terrible ambience. Although dining room standards are well known, they are not encouraged properly and so people in their Sunday best will be mixed with people that are still dressed from just mowing the lawn. The staff will seat you next to a table of screaming toddlers and refuse to move you if you would like a quieter environment. They prefer large parties and show palpable disdain for small parties of one or two. They don't act like they want parties less than four or six or more. They staff will rudely insist you have their food their way when they want you to have it and where they want you to eat it. They will act as though they are doing you a great favor by allowing you to dine there. They may justifiably earn great respect for their wonderful salmon, but they lose it all and more with the service, ambience and attitude in their Sunday bruncheon and buffets. Having spent more than six months on business travel in the Newton, NJ area, my experience is that there are many better alternatives for Sunday brunch and holiday buffet.”

Porkys A Place For Ribs
Feb 3, 2007 by Judi from Newton

Overall Rating: 3 User Rating Score: 3
Food:[3] • Service:[3] • Atmosphere:[3]

  • Close to home.
  • Poor service, food was not up to expectation.

“I should have known better given the tacky plastic flowers in their pots outside, and the goofy pig artwork on the signs, however, we were hungry and the all you can eat ribs sounded worth trying. Considering we were the only ones there on this particular night (again, should have known that was not a good sign.) It seemed to take forever for the server to take our order. While we were waiting we discovered a small ant farm in our booth. When the ribs finally arrived, they were tough as could be and were full of gristle. It was virtually impossible to get your knife through the rib to separate it from the rest of the rack from all the gristle. Even with the offer of all you can eat, we barely managed to finish what was on our first plate before we said, "waiter, check please!" You would do better buying ribs from bj's or Costco and throwing a bottled bar-b-queue sauce on them and grilling them at home. They would be infinitely better. Save your $. ”
