Tommy's Pizza
Jun 7, 2009 by Aleasha from Pittsburgh

Overall Rating: 6 User Rating Score: 6
Food:[7] • Service:[10] • Atmosphere:[4]

  • Fast and affordable.
  • Cramped layout, tables needed cleaned.

“While the pizza is good and the people are friendly I couldn't figure out what people are raving about when it comes to this place. The pizza is fresh with a crust of medium thickness, sweet tomato sauce and a decent amount of cheese.”

  • The servers have always been friendly, talkative, helpful.

Blue Parrot Bistro, Inc
Feb 16, 2009 by Shelly from Spring Grove, PA

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10
Food:[10] • Service:[10] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • Exquisite food, perfectly prepared and served.
  • None.

“I recently tried this restaurant and absolutely loved it. The meal (their version of surf and turf) was exquisite - perfectly prepared, as was my Margarita. They serve a grated Parmesan/spice mix with the warm, fresh rolls along with dipping oil - and it was quite a taste treat. The service was very good - attention to detail. The meals are not cheap, so not sure this is really a place to bring little kids. The atmosphere was charming - perfect for a quiet dinner. The chef turned out a truly extraordinary dinner! I will definitely go back!”

Jan 6, 2008 by Vic from Rochester, NY

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9
Food:[9] • Service:[9] • Atmosphere:[9]

  • Will be going here again on our annual trip to Gettysburg.
  • A little pricey but worth it especially if you get the romantic package.

“Always got to Gettysburg every year. Have gone to the other fine restaurants in the area and the Dobbin house is the best. We get the romantic package and get the nice chairs. I would recommend the Roast Duck.”

Tommy's Pizza
Jun 4, 2007 by Andrew from Queens NY

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10
Food:[10] • Service:[10] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • Food, people, service, price, atmosphere.
  • Nothing.

“I visit Gettysburg at least once a year--my first stop before checking into the hotel is always Tommy's pizza. Best pizza I have ever had without question and I live in a city where there are some supposedly great pizzerias. The folks that work there is just great and the price is shockingly cheap for the quality of food served.”

Farnsworth House Inc
Apr 25, 2007 by William

Overall Rating: 3 User Rating Score: 3
Food:[2] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[3]

  • The waitress was very nice and sociable.
  • Everything else.

“I have never had such horrible service in my life, and my wife and I have been traveling for many years! It looked like a good place from their site, but Iżll tell you that this is false advertising. When we checked into our room, the receptionist was about as sweet as an under ripe lemon. The bathroom didn't have a door and there wasn't even a proper garbage can liner. We ate at the tavern where the musician, who wore a rather neat confederate uniform, actually played hostess and told the waitresses that we were there and wanted a seat! The waitress was actually rather nice, but slow. It would take her 15 minutes to place our drink order, and another 10 for us to actually receive it. The food was over priced and definitely not of high quality. The music was very nice and was the only positive point of the evening. My wife and I decided to stay and listen to the music a bit longer, but the waitress left and we had to go to the bar to get drinks. I don't know about you, but I hate fighting a crowd and standing at the bar begging for a drink when I would rather have the drink come to me. The room was too warm and we couldn't get our air conditioner to work properly. When I addressed this to the receptionist, she made it sound like it was my fault it wouldnżt work. Now, I am typically a good tipper, and I try to vie people the benefit of the doubt, but it was hard to do in this case, and I decided to save my money...”

Tommy's Pizza
Feb 27, 2007 by Allan from West Bloomfield MI

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10
Food:[10] •

  • Food. Food. Food. Food. And food.
  • Nothing.

“My family came to Gettysburg over the Christmas holidays and stayed at a local motel. I asked for pizza and they recommended Tommy's. Yeah sure, I thought, a local grease pit. It only took one bite of their pie to squelch that thought, it was wonderful! I've had lots of pizza in my day, and Tommy's makes some of the best. We ate there three of the four nights we were in town, should have the fourth night as well. Pizza, breadsticks and salad, try it! You'll be a fan...”

Pub The
Feb 22, 2007 by Scot from Gettysburg

Overall Rating: 3 User Rating Score: 3
Food:[9] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[9]

  • Great food/atmoshphere.
  • Ownership is very rude.

“I actually live in Gettysburg and have frequented the restaurant often and have never had a problem until one night the owner of the establishiment actually hit me with menus when I simply asked for a different server. She then continued to cuss me out. The story goes on and on, but I won't bore you with the details. As it turns out, the owner had been arrested about two weeks prior to this for assaulting a police officer. The shame of it is-the food is great, the atmosphere is great, the ownership extremely rude and unappreciative of its local clientele. I have not been back since this happened, about 3 years ago, nor will I go back. This restaurant will survive-not because of locals, but because of travelers who do not know any better. I have talked with many locals and most that I talk to will never patronize the establishment again because of similar sitiuations with the owner.”

Tommy's Pizza
Aug 22, 2006 by Debbie from Toronto Ontario

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10
Food:[10] • Service:[10] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • Pizza is delicious - prices are excellent.
  • Nothing.

“We (myself, husband, daughters 15 & 18) travel to Gettysburg every year over Canadian Thanksgiving and the first thing we do when we arrive in town is go directly to Tommy's for pizza. We love the atmosphere - the pizza is the best anywhere and there's nothing better than having delicious pizza and ice cold beer in the bottle directly from the cooler on the main street in small town USA. We're anxiously awaiting Tommy's to increase their delivery area to include Toronto:) lol A trip to Gettysburg isn't completed without a trip (or two) to Tommy's. You will love it!”

Ritas Italian Ice
Mar 19, 2006 by GB from Gettysburg

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9
Food:[10] • Service:[9] • Atmosphere:[9]

  • Great Italian Ice.
  • Stand up outside or walk away.

“Great refreshing Italian ice, the Gelatos (ice and custard mix) are awesome; limited selection of Rita's flavors, but a fun, stand up outside place right next to a cigar store and The Dog House which has an incredible selection of ways to eat a hot dog or subs or quesadillas, etc.”
