• The drinking water.
• Food, service, price and arrogance of the establishment.

“This place has been the only game in town, until the new chef arrived at St Charles Hotel, so the uninformed folk of Pierre have made this owner somewhat rich. Pretentious. Staff not very polished. Appetizer of clams were okay. My entree was Sailfish. Should of stopped there, according to the menu's description of this dish, it favored Swordfish. OMG! Fish was dry, and swimming in a broth of the unknown with soggy veggies. Mind you I requested to not have the veggies, but to instead have a caesar salad. WOW, you' d think I was asking for the keys to the restaurant. Meltdown in the kitchen. Couldn't fill my request. Overpriced and horrible food.”

• Refillable soda.
• Microwavable junk food.

“Big tado within the mall. Costing sandwiches. Order at the counter type deal. I would of rather gone to BK.”

• Cold beer.
• No selection other than over sized plates of beef.

“The name says it all. Cattleman's. One other item was fried shrimp. Oh boy! Tacky plastic containers with salad items, onions, tomatoes, etc. Very noisy atmosphere. Nothing fancy at all. Would never go there again.”

• No one was in there imagine that.
• No flavor to the meat - cooked wrong.

“My husband & I ate there last week. It was the worst steak & prime rib I have ever eaten. We could hardly finish, what we did not eat - we took home for the dogs. Not at all worth the money.”

• Great, unique pasta creations.
• Its ok for wait staff to write things down. It might help with mistakes.

“The restaurant itself was nice. It was a romantic setting but almost too dark especially in the bar area. It was busy but we were seated right away. It took a little while to get our waiter and drinks seemed to take forever. One thing I noticed is that none of the wait staff used pens or paper to take orders; they all just "memorized" what you wanted. I thought it was neat until our dinner arrived and one of the plates was wrong. It was immediately replaced but with some gruff from the waiter. The food was phenomenal. It was full of flavor and the portions are huge. I expected some kind of discount on the wrong food but when we got the bill there was nothing there.”

• Excellent service, good value on food.
• No dessert menu.

“This place was awesome. The food and prices were fantastic. We really enjoyed the "Big R" special. An 8oz steak and potatoes for It was fantastic. The service was excellent. Our drink glasses were never empty, our dinners were correctly cooked and we never had to wait for friendly service. It was a great place to have dinner then enjoy some live music and dancing. ”

• Nice diverse menu.
• Terrible service.

“Although the food was hot and quite good the service was awful. We waited almost 45 minutes for our dinners to arrive and once they did both dinners were not what we ordered. It took us another 10 minutes to find the waitress, once found she insisted that it was our fault the dinners weren't right. 15 minutes later we had the correct dinners in front of us but never saw the waitress again until she walked by and dumped the bill on the table. Our wine and water glasses were empty the entire meal. Great food, Horrid service. ”

• Best restaurant in Pierre!
• Evening prices.

“The lunch specials are my favorite. I love the fact that there is something new to try everyday. I feel that they are fairly reasonable in price. The evening dining is much more expensive and I would eat there more often if it was a little more reasonable.”

• Love the open grill behind the bar!
• Wish you were open on Sundays :-)

“You feel like you just walked into a fine restaurant in Chicago! In the middle of S.D? Mark and his staff are super friendly and knowledgeable! The food is EXTREMELY excellent! Second to none! I make La Minestra a mandatory stop EVERYTIME I cross through the state of S.D!”
