“This restaurant is one of the dirtiest in the Chambersburg area. The food is poor quality at best. The dining area tables had not seen a cleaning in a long time. We ordered vegetable beef soup that may have been made with some mammal, but I don't think it was beef. We ask if we could exchange the soup for another food item. The manager told us he did not do that. They took the soup from us and offered nothing. The restaurant was surprisingly empty on a Friday evening and I think we found out the reason. We would not recommend this eatery to anyone.”

• The great food/prices - good for kids.
• Cigarette smoke.

“I ate there on 12-5-08, the food was great but the smell of smoke put a damper on things. My grandmothers eat here religiously every Sunday morning. The waitress we had acted like she just wanted to go home and that we were bothering her. I know that doesn't represent everyone at your restaurant but overall everything was good.”

• The food was Awesome.
• The waitress could have been a little more pleasant. Enthusiastic.

“I think that this restaurant was very good and i really enjoyed the food, as well with the service. Even thought the place was busy i still got fare service.”

• Loved the food and friendly service.
• Outside is a bit rough looking.

“The food was absolutely wonderful. My wife and I went there based upon a recommendation of a friend in Chambersburg. We were delighted with the food and service. The outside of the restaurant and pub is a tad "antiquated" and simply does not prepare one for the great dining experience inside. If great dining and service is what you seek over "atmosphere" then this is definitely worth checking out.”

• Food and service were great, smell of cigarettes was strong even in non-smoking area.
• Cigarette smell.

• I liked the variety on the food bars especially the desserts.

“Each time we visit Hoss's in Chambersburg, it is great. Cost is good, service is good, friendly workers there and the food is wonderful, fresh salads and foods hot from the oven.”

• Magnificent food, marvelous value, excellent portion size
• They're not open for breakfast

“Excellent quality and freshness of food, generous portions, very fair prices and a very responsive management team make this restaurant my favorite of all within about a twenty mile radius. For all of it's virtues you'd have to go to at least Hagerstown.”
