Atmosphere.
Parking - there is a good size lot but can be jammed.

“I find Bessie's homey and fun. Doesn't look like anything from the outside, but inside it's family friendly, extremely busy, tables close together so you end up making friends with the people next door; just a fun, casual place for lunch (never did breakfast, but see the trucks packed in). Simple food, well done, pleasant waitresses - not fine dining, not the place for a first date, but great small town place.”

Food was awesome.
Floor was wet (because of snow) and it is crowded but it is also a part of the experience.

“Excellent food the chowder was outstanding, the homemade breads are wonderful. The atmosphere is a bit quirky, and it is definitely not fancy but small town friendly, and really outstanding. I thoroughly enjoyed the meal and the trip to Exeter. .”
