User Reviews for Columbia Restaurants« Go back to Fishers Travel GuideResearch User Reviews for Columbia (1-18 of 18)Chris Mcds
“Chris McD's is by far the best restaurant in Columbia! Every time I'm in town, that is where I go! Their 8oz filet is phenomenal and the scallops are to die for! I have never had a bad experience at this place and have eaten there over 50 times! Also, their desserts are all homemade! I'm hungry just thinking about it! A+.”

“After paying over $30.00 for an "All American" chocolate cake for my wife's birthday, it reminded me of a bad piece of hospital cafeteria cake, although the servers at most hospital cafeterias are much friendlier.”

“Don't miss this Columbia landmark. 30 plus years of serving the city of and community around Columbia Missouri. Great place to see old friends, meet new ones and keep in touch. Food is awesome and you can't beat the "Nice to be back again" atmosphere. Truly a homecoming experience every time I get back there. Looking forward to the next trip.”

“Ordered two dinners. One was perfect the rare one; the other over-cooked. They re-did the order and then it was under-cooked but I said it was fine. We'd already been there over two hours! I can only conclude that the only way they know how to make a perfect steak that everyone else raves about is if you like your steaks rare! Too much cracked pepper on everything. No I did not ask for any at table side or I'd have been in the ER. Will not go back again.”

“I have to admit, I was very disappointed when I went to Bamboo. I went at about 1 p.m. in the afternoon and the place was empty. I had my husband and 4 year old with me. At first glance, decorating was minimal, not so Japanese as more Pier One but the pale green coloring was pretty. The music was less than traditional for a Sushi Bar. They had rap music blaring throughout, so loud in fact it was hard to hold a conversation. It appeared that all of the sushi rolls had crab (or Krab, imitation) which I thought showed a lack of variety as well as imagination. We tried about 6 different items on the menu and found it hard to find something for the 4 year old (who loves Japanese by the way). Service was sad. The waitress was nice enough, but lacked expertise of knowing the menu and couldn't answer questions. She was so busy talking with other employees that our drinks were never refilled, not once. The Sushi chef seemed put off by our order and took his time preparing the food. The price wasn't bad for the food received. I hope they can step it up a bit, but at this point it will be hard for them to compete with Osaka or Sake or even Jina Yoo's. I may try it again just hoping it will be better the second go round.”

“I took my girlfriend there a couple weeks ago and we absolutely loved it. The atmosphere & environment was amazing (check out the cool fans on the ceilings), the food and service was even better! We got our food within about 8-10 minutes of ordering. I'll definitely be going back!”

“WOW! The Encore downtown is a really neat little dessert bar. From what I can gather the Upper Crust bakery turns into a dessert bar at night and it is fantastic! I would recommend to anyone who wants a really fun night on the town.”

“This is a great location. I have been to other Chevys before but this one is great! You must try the shrimp fajitas. They are the best.”

“I must admit, the food is good, but the service stinks, especially the delivery!”

“This is the best restaurant in Columbia - it's always busy - the prices are great for a ton of food! You can't leave hungry! I lived in Columbia for 3 years. It's been 8 years since we moved and we will be traveling through on vacation. It's the only place I want to eat!”

“Love their food. Large portions. Huge brownie sundae! I love the wet fries (fries with white country gravy) we go there about every other week.”

“First, it's all carryout and delivery, so if you're eating wise guys you're after the food. Which is good frankly, because wise guys are the best cheap pizza Iżve ever eaten? The pizza is filling, always delivered hot, and the type of pie you'd expect to pay quite a bit more for. While Shakespeareżs is obviously the Cadillac of Columbia pizzas, wise guys is the second best in town - and their liberal delivery area and late hours are huge pluses! Wise guys are great!”

“This is a traditional Japanese sushi bar restaurant. Their sushi is always fresh and good quality. Having eaten there over 100 times, I enjoy their sushi bar. Their menu is not extensive but very tasty. The proprietor, jenny, is very friendly and attends to the restaurant patrons. The service is good but not flashy. In the evenings, they offer a hibachi style seating at three large grills in addition to the sushi bar and traditional seating. It is very busy on the weekends, a testament to their good food. It is moderately priced compared to other Japanese/sushi restaurants. They offer a traditional Japanese sitting room for large parties.”

“We had reservations. They were not ready. The food was slow and not cooked to order. The atmosphere was not at all private. The service was snotty. Not a good experience at all. Would not go there are recommend it to anyone.”

“Wonderful food! Their steaks are excellent, and the chopped salad is unique and tasty. They're a little on the pricey side, but it's worth it. It's a high-end place, but you don't have to be dressed to the nines; shorts/jeans will do as well as dressier attire. Don't know if they have children's selections or not--we'll find out soon--we're taking our son along for our anniversary dinner tonight.”

“Buckingham has wonderful food and a family friendly atmosphere. It is good for business travelers who want a warm and delicious meal, but it is not an ideal location for a business meeting of more than two people. If you get the opportunity to stop by, don't forget to try their pit beans, they're the best in town!”
