“Our server was a very lovely young lady, she was friendly lively and gave plenty of attention to our needs even though the were very busy. We had sat at the bar for a drink before we went to dinner the bartend was rude and slow she took forever to come take our order because she was standing there and talking to some friends at the end and then it took her forever to get our drinks. The hostess was rude when we came to the hostess stand she didn't even greet us. Our food was terrible it was salty and greasy, we literally pour a whole plate of grease of the top of our nacho it was terrible and the chips were so soggy you had to eat them with a spoon. The margaritas were pretty good but really small and overpriced. Our entries were okay the sever recommended a Navajo taco it was great and just as she described and for dessert we ordered a friend ice cream it was horrible and not fried at all. The manager never came by to see how our meal was in fact I never saw her leave the hostess stand except once to the servers in front of the whole dinning room how rude. We will not go back the only good thing about our experience was our server.”

“Home made food, friendly client and staff.”

“Absolutely horrible. Plenty of better choices out there. Was in a group of 8 and all shared the same opinion. Avoid like the plague. For example, lasagna was cold, drinks were weak, floor was filthy, bathroom was worse. Avoid this place like the plague.”

“All I can say is that if you want a really lively, fun happy hour with Mexican-type appetizers, this place is overflowing with people. Wonderful outdoor patio area in the warmer weather, and the physical space within the bar and restaurant is very inviting. As for going there for an actual meal, if you are particular about the authenticity or quality of your Mexican, there are better choices than Hacienda.”

“My boyfriend and I celebrated our 3-year anniversary at Al's. The food was absolutely delicious, but our server was incredibly rude. He refused to give us a side of ranch dressing with our salad, saying you don't put ranch on that specific salad. He also criticized my boyfriend for ordering pasta. He would spend countless minutes talking with his other tables, but would rarely say two words to us. At one point he blatantly rolled his eyes at us and laughed. The food was a tad bit overpriced ($20 for a 2-person salad), but overall very delicious. Just don't get Harold as your server.”

“This was the absolute worst meal I have ever had at a restaurant. We had one margarita and 2 beers along with two different sandwiches and they were absolutely horrible. I could have gone to the Wal-Mart deli and made a better sandwich.”

“What a disaster! We had a waiter that was untrained and knew nothing at all about either Italian food, or what he was doing. The owners were off that night (Tuesdays. Beware!). We ordered calamari as an appetizer which I had there previously and it was the best I have had. This waiter first forgot the order, and then came back with the calamari and the meal at the same time. The calamari was a joke. Hard as a brick with some sort of cement breading with olives and raw onion tossed on top. My wife's fork sent the first piece launching across the room! You needed a nutcracker to eat this mess. We asked them to remove it. Then my dish was a rigatoni that supposedly had peas, ham and mushrooms in it. It was a totally overcooked mess that resembled day old mashed potatoes. At this point I called the manager and some Italian babe sauntered over and got indignant at our outrage over this disgusting food.”

“Uneven service. One occasion at lunch, we waited about 20 minutes after finishing salads, to receive two sandwiches. Others who ordered after we finished the salads, got food about when we did. When food finally arrived, the flavor was good, but sandwiches and fries where lukewarm, at best. The waitress's response was indifferent. Said they had served a large party in another room. Does not explain why the food was not served hot.”

“This restaurant is wonderful! If you want genuine Italian food and atmosphere, this is the place for you. I felt like Tony Soprano could be sitting at the table across from me! My dish cost around $13, and it comes with a house wine. Salads are extra, but I didn't need one. They give you so much food. The meal that I ordered comes with a House pasta, which is a full plate of pasta in addition to what I ordered! Needless to say, I couldn't eat it all, and I was very sad that I couldn't take it with me, due to traveling. The bread is really good, and our server was from Venice Italy. You can't get more Italian than that! She was wonderful, very attentive to our needs.”

“I have been coming to Meshuggah for about 14 years and have become very disappointed with it. On the plus side, I like the coffee and food. On the other hand, they frequently run out of common items for long periods.”

“I have never had a bad meal at bristles in St. Louis or wing haven. I generally get scallops and they are wonderful. The salads are fresh, crab cakes are delightful and the crème broulee is to die for. I have never had a buffet there, but have never been disappointed by the food, service or ambiance. Yes it may be a little on the high end for a day to day meal, but for a date night or special occasion, you can't beat it! Did I mention the biscuits? Keep them coming and they do.”

“Such a neat place, in a very cute area! The interior has fun decor, and there is a back-yard patio too. The menu has a very large variety. I tried the French toast, and my family tried the chicken salad sandwich (on croissant) and a veggie sandwich. Service was good. On the way out though, we thought we'd get some baked items from the front. Bad idea! They didn't taste good, and we don't know why! The chocolate chip cookie in particular was just awful. It tasted like it had a chemical or soap in it. Stick to the menu, and you'll be happy!”

“No matter what day you go, the food is always excellent! I really love their thanksgiving buffet with the tofu turkey. I always have one problem there. I always eat more than I say I will. Try the pap dam, they are great. Park in front as the back parking lot is tricky in trying to get to the restaurant. The path is too narrow and not handicapped assessable. Make sure you try the tea, it's so good. For $7, I could eat there everyday and did except for Saturdays when it's closed, for over two years. Take a friend who says they hate vegetarian food, and see how quickly they change their minds. Eat there and learn what good food is really all about. .”

“Menu of burgers, sandwiches, wings, and wraps; pretty basic stuff. Sadly the place is un-managed; there is no attention to service, our food arrived cold. OK, half of our food arrived cold, the wraps were actually hot and good, it was the hamburger, fries and wings that were at or below room temperature. It took a ridiculously long time for our cold food to arrive, and the apparent head server told us that it had just come out. I don't particularly care if it just came out; I only expect it to be warm when it gets to the table. Could be a decent restaurant if they can find someone who knows how to manage a restaurant and how to train servers.”

“Spectacular food. Order the saganaki if you love cheese. I can't remember the names of most of the food, but if you put a menu in front of me I know I'll order just about anything on the menu. (I just haven't acquired a taste for anyone's humus yet) Man, what am I doing typing, I need to go get me a Gyro.”

“The Hofamberg Inn closed April 1, 2002 to build a posh strip mini-mall but the Biergarten, Weinskellar and Kaffee Haus still remain. Food is pretty good, prices are in line with others in the area (not too pricey), family owned, friendly service with a number of loyal employees and thousands of loyal customers. Waffles are great, sandwiches, soups, salads, overall great place to eat. Bright atmosphere at the Kaffe Haus. Biergarten is great on a nice day. Weinskellar is a bit dungeon type and dimly lit " great place to get a drink and hide from the world. Interesting decoration with a fireplace for brisk days!”

“Cardwell's at the plaza is entirely too loud. I shared dinner with a group of adults at card well¿s at the plaza. Despite having reservations, we were placed at a table near the bar. The food was excellent; however, the guests at our table had to shout to hear each other due to the excessive noise generated from patrons at the bar. Placing the loudest part of a restaurant, the bar, in the middle of the restaurant creates an offensive atmosphere. If you wish to engage in conversation during your dinner, do not go to card well¿s at the plaza. If you wish to patron the bar, be loud, and be seen by others, card well¿s is the place for you.”

“We have a large Italian community in our Hometown, so we are very spoiled with Italian food, but to go out of town and find excellent home-cooked Italian is a bonus. You won't be disappointed. ”

“The food is excellent, blending exotic African and South American flavors to staple foods such as fish, meat or chicken. The blending of the various flavors makes for an exciting food experience. If you would like to try an exotic drink to go with dinner, try a Caperinha. It is a mixture of Brazilian Cachaca, made from sugar cane, limes and sugar. Excellent!”

“This was the best part of my trip to STL. I grew up in Queens and I never thought in a million years that I'd find an Italian place in St. Louis that rivaled the ones from back home. What a pleasant surprise Charlie Gitto's was. Keep up the good work Charlie - you're A+ in my book.”

“4 us visited Mike Shannon's the third evening after the grand opening. We were seated right away and although the restaurant was only about 1/3 full, we waited for at least 20 minutes before the waiter attended to us. The whole dining experience was disappointing. We ordered onion strings as an appetizer and they were Luke warm when brought to our table. We waited over a half an hour for our main course and when it was brought to our table, the food was cold. For top dollar being paid, the meal and service was bad. Mr. Shannon visited the tables, but was not in any condition to carry on any type of conversation. We will never go back. ”

“Heard lots of good reviews about this restaurant and they must be based on the service and atmosphere, which were both good. The food on the other hand was not worth the money. With the exception of the Omelette and Waffle bar, all other items on the Sunday Brunch Bar were cold and less than appetizing. In fact some items were not appetizing at all in look and taste. For a Sunday Brunch less than $20 per person, I guess you get what you pay for. We will not be having any more Sunday breakfasts there again, that's for sure. ”

“The atmosphere at Mike Shannon's is high class sports atmosphere. Very neat memorabilia. Excellent food, excellent service. Everything is served separately. A steak will set you back about $25-$40 and that is before you add a salad or side item. However, I must say, this was one of the better steaks I have had. I wouldn't say the best, but one of the best.”
