• The manager offered to take off the wings and ribs, we just wanted to leave.
• Service and the food quality.

“The service was awful, our waiter would take our request, say he would be right back, and never fill our requests. We asked for extra napkins and two small plates for our bones when the kitchen brought out wings out. He never brought them. He didn't bring my salad until I reminded him. Our glasses were empty most of the meal. I don't think he remembered to bring our bill, we had to ask, after waiting 20 minutes. Also, our wings were cold when they got to the table, as was most of our food. Worst Applebee's I have ever been too, and I love Applebee's.”

• The Pie.
• The rude waitresses.

“Although the pies are scrumptious, the waitresses ruined the visit to slice of Pie. They are rude, didn't care about their customers or how they treat them, and exhibit their obvious dislike of their jobs. We ordered $20 worth of pies and were treated as if we were bothering them. And it does no good to tell the management because the night the help closed 15 minutes early and then stood snickering at us through the window, we wrote the owners and have yet after 2 years to receive an apology or a reply. Summary: great pie; rude and uncaring help.”

• Lovely service, atmosphere and food.
• Hard to find as it is off of the main roads.

“The food was very good. Sauces offered were made on-site. The service was fun, friendly and attentive. We will go back again if in the area.”

• The food.
• Packed parking lot - is that really a negative?

“The name says it all. Maid-Rite! I always stop in when I'm heading down I44. I can't speak for anything else on the menu other than the Maid-Rites and fries. I see other things on the menu I want to try, but I just can't give up my Maid-Rite. Oh and the malts are great. I love my chocolate and peanut butter malt.”

“My family and I lived in Rolla for 2 years, and fell in love with a slice of pie. If you love pie, you will not be disappointed. They have an awesome selection on hand, an outstanding variety to choose from and the slices and whole pies are huge as well as delicious. Well worth the extra money you may spend. We have since moved to the Jefferson City area, and I can't tell you how delighted I am to find they are starting one here. Give them a try you can't go wrong. God bless on the success of your new store, as well as continued success in Rolla.”

• The pie.
• Service, atmosphere, lunch menu.

“I dearly love the pie, but I truly dislike the two young women who routinely work the evening shift. They are rude, clearly unhappy, never ring my bill up right (they usually overcharge by about 4$, which is a lot seeing as the total bill usually is about 8$), they are very slow even when the place is empty, the kitchen in the back is in shambles, the dining area is not bussed. I have stopped going there after 2 pm. (the ladies who work the day shift on weekdays are great!) Also, the lunch meals are pretty lousy; the quiche's are rubbery, the chicken pot pie is bland. Coffee is good though. The atmosphere is pretty typical of Rolla, mo; nothing special.”

• Pie.
• So many pies, so little time.

“I had to sample the pie yesterday with my son-in law. He had chocolate chip and I had pecan and I had to take home lemon meringue for my wife. All pies were outstanding and as I recall A Slice Of Pie has been surveyed as the number one pie house in Missouri by several surveys. Since I live near another famous pie hose. The Blue Owl, which was surveyed below A Slice Of Pie as I recall, I was curious. My first hand test report was They Deserve to be Number One. We met Ron and his wife on a tour of NYC and Wash DC two years ago and had a lot of fun together. If you should see him in the store he just may have a joke or two to liven up your day.”

• Open 10am-10pm, huge variety, will make pies to order.
• Blueberry pie is a special order only.

“When I started college in Rolla, everyone raved about this restaurant, so I had to check it out, and it quickly became my favorite restaurant in Rolla, and a reason to stop in every time I passed through. They have a huge selection of pies on hand, and if they don't have it on hand, they can make it special order, generally in less than 2 days. The slices are huge, so a half slice usually is enough for the average person. They also make sugar free mini-pies. They do only take cash or cheques (luckily, they do take out-of-state cheques), so plan ahead. The hours are wonderful, and the people are extremely helpful. It's not easy to find (it's tucked in a strip mall behind Century 21). Slice of Pie is the non-college aspect of Rolla that I miss the most.”

• Homemade whipped cream & large slices.
• Very small facility and hard to find parking.

“All the pies are great! I lived in Rolla for 5 years while my husband was going to school at the university of Missouri, ump. It has now been 10 years since I have lived there but I visit annually. I have to stop at a slice of pie eve time I stay there. Their chocolate cheesecake is amazing! Neat mom and pop shop.”

“Excellent, cozy hotel for the area and very clean. We would stay here again. Excellent value. Fresh food, good menu and nice wine selection in lounge. Pool area clean for families--need I say more. Try it, you'll like it!”

• Food service from the kitchen was awful.

“My last visit to the sirloin stockade was very disappointing. Food was not as good as it has been in the past. Restroom was filthy! Food coming out of the kitchen was slow. People were waiting for things that had run out. As an example; there was no fried chicken on the buffet for at least 45 minutes. I believe the manager was at fault. He didn't seem to be supervising anyone. We have eaten at this restaurant a number of times and this was the worst experience I have ever had there.”

• Their pie is the best pie I¿ve ever had and there is a wide selection of pie.
• They only accept cash and checks.

“Everything about the food and the restaurant is excellent. I stop there every time I¿m in the area. The place is great. It is tucked away in a strip mall and for a small town restaurant that specializes in pie the atmosphere is great. There are minimal choices besides pie. So, don't go if you don't like pie.”
