User Reviews for St. Paul Restaurants« Go back to Australia HotelsResearch User Reviews for St. Paul (1-18 of 18)Cossetta's
“Every time that I am in my home state of Minnesota, I go out of my way to go to Cosetta's. The pizza is the best I've ever had and spoils me for anywhere else. The deli side is authentic and impressed my chef girlfriend. (She even had my Pop ship me some pies on ice here to Vermont for my birthday, amazing)One of few places that I rave about. Just unbelievable pizza.”

“A true comfortable community pub! Real people having real conversations with real Irish music (none of that fluty new age craps). Dance, laugh, throw some darts, eat some popcorn, and come see why the Irish Community gathers there for crack!”

“Avoid this place as owner is a scum bag and staff is rude.”

“One of the best restaurants in the Twin Cities. Good food, good prices, good atmosphere!”

“We have really enjoyed stopping for Sunday lunch at the Como lakeside pavilion, followed by a walk near the lake. Sandwiches are simple, but good, plus the menu and atmosphere are very kid-friendly! With high chairs available, and lots of fun to be had near the water, it is such a relaxing place for a family meal. It would also be a nice atmosphere for a casual date, or to settle in alone with a good book. We usually manage to save room for a tasty dessert, too!”

“Rock/metal club with little that appeals to the locals. Floor staff can be real jerks at closing time (unless you're a friend). this place could be great with better management and better music bookings...”

“The building's interior is beautiful, but the food is of poor quality, overpriced, and the service for "just drinks" is exceedingly slow, particularly at the bar. Unless you're a sty Paul good old' boy who's been spending his kids' college money at the bar for the past 15 years, don't expect a bartender to notice you until 10 minutes after you've sat down. Then, you can expect an expensive and substandard shot of Jameson.”

“Sweeney's is quintessential St. Paul. A pub and restaurant in a historic building that makes you feel like you've come home. This place has character and they have a really good regular happy hour and a bonus late night happy hour too. If it's nice out, don't miss their patio. It is one of the nicest in St. Paul. This place is casual with good food, but if you want fussy go someplace else.”

“A friend and I stopped in for dinner while shopping on Grand. The food was fine, nothing too special. The most disturbing part of the experience was the wait staff. Not only were they dressed entirely too revealing, but they came across actually smutty and rude. I don't feel like mini-skirts and tall black socks are appropriate and neither is wearing your hair down as a server or applying lipstick in the dining room mirrors. Our server was entirely too blunt with us and incredibly slow. Her whole attitude showed she didn't care. The worst part of the experience was when we frequented the establishment that Friday evening with friends of ours. Standing at the bar after ordering a drink I was literally smacked by a cocktail waitress, very purposefully. This very rude, oh so much better than me server, actually shoved me out of her way. When I said something to my group of friends, she got up in my face and confronted me. As a former server and cocktail server, I could never even imagine confronting a customer, let alone one minding her own business. She then proceeded to harass me the entire night, making snood comment as she walked by our table. We also saw her demanding a tip from another customer, also speaking to him rudely. This waitress should not have a job. The service and treatment paired with the trashy atmosphere will keep me from ever even approaching the door again. Save yourself from the horrendous experience that is "the wild onion".”

“Loud bar, rude staff and rude ownership. This place is to be avoided as I was accidentally hit on the head by a bartender and then asked to leave the bar. Avoid this dump.”

“BEST desserts in town. Good lunch spot or a late night stop. Can be crowded at times and is cafeteria style service. Very relaxed place to chill.”

“Great relaxed romantic atmosphere, above average food quality, reasonably interesting menu selection. A fair value overall, maybe even better than fair.”

“18 Year old hostess was a snob - bad first impression that ruined it for me. We walked out after waiting over 10 minutes for our waiter. ”

“I always buy crown, and cokes, and somehow this place cant make one to save their lives. If I wanted a coke I would sit at home and drink one.”

“I have never had a good experience at this bar. They have a history of making very weak drinks (so much soda you cant even taste the alcohol), and don't expect them to fix the drinks for you when you complain. They tried to tell me they would get fired for correcting a mis-poured drink. Because of this I didn't tip the bartender, and I was then mocked by the bartender. They will never take a penny of my money again!”

“I have been a regular patron for the last two years. Their recent remodel looks EXCELLENT!! I was pleased to find out that they are open until 1am on Saturday nights, with full menu until 11pm and sushi until midnight. They bring a dj in to play up-beat music in the bar/lounge area at 10p on Saturdays. It is an excellent place to enjoy cocktails and sushi with your friends. Their food is delightful, but their sushi is to die for! My vegan sister and vegitarian friend found their selection more than accommodating. Whether lunch, dinner, or the nightlife, it is worth a try!”
