“Soup on salad bar smelled burnt. Salad bar just okay. Salad/soup bar is extra $2.99. My wife ordered the fillet $18.99, and I ordered the porterhouse steak $22.99. Both were ordered medium, both were served very well over done, dry, and tasteless. My wives sweet potato was good, but my baked potato was dry, and overdone, even with the 0.99 cent extra charge for the toppings. Waiter was great, but his management failed him. Very noisy also.”

“Visited in September 2008, and was struck by the friendly greeting at the door and great service by our waitress. Clean is important and found that here. Went back the next morning for their breakfast buffet which was all you could ask for and more! Will definitely be visiting there next year when we visit Branson.”

“Great food and great service. The old time soda fountain is a great place to go after a show for a treat. A stage is under construction and after show entertainment will soon be available.”

“Six of us went to Dixie Stampede, including two children. What a fun night. The show had lots of variety, lots of action and even some humor. We all had a ball, adults and children alike. Tickets are a little high, but if you went to dinner then a show you would probably pay the same. And we found coupons so that helped. The food was super and plentiful! And ok, I know eating with your hands is part of the experience, but I could of used a fork, but that didn't spoil the evening. And I have to say, the staff at Dixie stampede, the performers and especially the wait staff is probably the hardest working staff in town. Our waiter was really getting a work out! He was running (literarily) back and forth but smiling and cutting up the whole time. He provided excellent service and a couple laughs too. As we drove off after the show we all had the same comments that was so neat, we got to figure out the spice rub on the chicken and can you believe how hard the staff works? Would definitely recommend to almost any group of travelers. Just my opinion, but didn't care for the photographer coming to show me pictures in the middle of dinner, but no biggie, he wasn't pushy at all.”

“A few years ago, my friend & I took our first trip to Branson. Our first stop after depositing our luggage across the street at Fairfield was Pizzazz which was recommended by our Armstrong shuttle driver. Was he ever right? From the time we stepped in Pizzazz, we were treated like family. That was our hang out when we had time between shows. The staff was the best. Everyone remembered us & knew what our favorite drink was. The food was fantastic. Planning another trip to Branson in Oct. & sure hope this place is still there as we will be staying at the condo near by.”

“We were lured in by the flashing sign advertising the best pan fried chicken. We walked in and it was a scary sight. The place was very dark and smelled funny. The server was very nice, but the buffet was in bad shape. The floor in front of the buffet line was stained and part linoleum/part carpet. The food at the cold bar was lukewarm. The food at the hot bar was mediocre at best. They really pushed the "homemade cobbler" which was not like any cobbler I have ever had before. It was runny and had a strange crust on it. I would not recommend this place at all. Stick with chain restaurants while visiting in Branson. If it is bad, at least you can call a corporate office.”

“We had eaten at Shoneys the day before. Penelope's had better food, service and prices (it was about $10 cheaper for the 3 of us). The coffee was amazing. Our waitress told us it was from liquid concentrate, and, as a coffee-alcoholic, I was surprised that it tasted so much better. She even gave me a cup to go.”

“We wanted Mexican food while on our family vacation. We went to eat there on the 18th of March. My husband and I ordered fajitas for two mixed. The chicken was brought out under cooked. We told the waiter we would not be eating that raw chicken as you can get sick from that. They brought us out more beef. By that time I was afraid to eat any of it. My 9 year old ate her food and said it was ok. To top it off we had to pay for this food. As we were leaving they had the nerve to ask if they beef they replaced the chicken with was ok. I am not sure how Missouri runs its state but in Texas they food would have been on the house. I will be making a complaint to the health department as well.”

“We went to Starving Marvin's for the seafood buffet - $24.95 - which would have been a reasonable price for a decent buffet. I am not a picky eater by any stretch of the imagination, but the food was terrible, better make that a capital T. The crab legs tasted as though they had been sitting there a week and had been boiled in used dish water. The boiled shrimp were almost mush by the time they were peeled. Their attempt at pan-fried potatoes was pathetic. I didn't realize it was possible to completely miss any resemblance to fried potatoes - they were grey. The fried shrimp were edible only with the help of liberal amounts of cocktail sauce. The waitress was either inexperienced or just had no clue, any request - such as a drink refill - was met with disdain. (I only asked for one.)”

“This was a bad experience. Left feeling overcharged and poor entertainment value for a small child. Avoid this place.”

“We ate breakfast at the Baldnobbers restaurant on our recent vacation to Branson. The restaurant didn't look clean, the waiter we had was rude and inconsiderate. After sitting at our table he told us after we got our food from the buffet he would get our drinks. Well, after about 15 minutes we still had nothing to drink. One of us got up and went to the kitchen to ask for something to drink. At this time, our waiter actually admitted that he forgot about us but there was no apology. Instead, he acted like we were bothering him. The food on the buffet had been sitting there quiet awhile and was as hard as bricks. They also lure you in by the $4.99 buffet, however, be careful a cup of coffee or soft drink is $2.00, and you almost have to get them yourself. Upon leaving even the cashier stated that she didn't like working there either. We most certainly will not eat here again and would never recommend it to anyone. There are plenty of really good restaurants in Branson. Don't waste your time at the Baldknobbers restaurant. ”

“We go to the plantation every time we go to Branson. Its a place you know what to expect. Nothing fancy just good food at a good price. We always ask for weezie to be our server, she has been there for years. However this time things were different. You could tell almost the minute you walked in. As soon as we found out who the new owner is were sorry to say it was our last trip, as we have seen what has been done to the other restaurants that this same person owns.”

“I would not advise anyone looking for good value to eat here. My husband and were looking forward to the 50's atmosphere and food. We were greeted by a less than friendly host who also looked very unkempt Our server was also very unkempt and did not seem to know what he was doing. We ordered our cokes and looked over the menu. We were interested in the cheeseburgers that ran about $6.99. When we were going to place our order I asked if the cheeseburgers came with fries, because the menu did not mention a side. The server said that the $7 cheeseburger came with chips, fries cost extra! We paid for our drinks and left. Bran son has so many places to eat, that paying that much money for a cheeseburger was ridiculous. We went over to McFarlin's at the IMAX and had a delicious meal of cheeseburgers with fries, no extra charge! Cheeseburger $5.69. I can't honestly rate the food at the Uptown because we did not eat it. So for those prices that burger should be gigantic. Who knows, I was not about to waste time and money to find out.”

“We stopped in here for breakfast one morning because the sign said best breakfast in Branson for $3.99. Upon entering, there was a older lady upset because she had to pay for a coffee that she didn't order and the manager told her that if she wanted her dollar back to go get it from the waitress. I found this very disturbing but we were all hungry and decided to give it a try anyways. Our waitress was more than friendly and the buffet was average at best. When we went to check out I told the manager that I felt sorry for the customer that had to argue with him over a dollar and that I felt it was very poor customer service. (All with a smile on my face as I paid) He looked at me and replied, "Oh Well!" We will never be back needless to say.”

“Being from TX, I eat a lot of Mexican food, however La Casa del Sol is probably the best I have ever had anywhere. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone, even those who do not really like Mexican Food as much as others.”

“From the beginning our experience was awful. The "Gilley on the Rocks" was so watered down that I am sure there was more alcohol content in Kool-Aid. We heard about the famous ribs and all of our party was urged to try them. 5 out of 5 plates of ribs were so tough and dry they had to microwave. The sauce was pretty good, but would of tasted better on the wet nap we received with our plates. When my wife and I complained about the ribs, a female manager visited our table and in the middle of speaking to us answered a cell phone then proceeded to argue with someone on the other line, after excusing herself from the table. Then after about 6 minutes of waiting our meal was 10% off. We were degusted and left NEVER to return. ”

“This was the worse place I ever ate at. The service was awful, we were seated and that was it, nobody ever came back, we had to find our own silverware, go find someone to get us drinks, the table was dirty the surroundings were dirty, the food was awful for the high price. I was very, very dissapointed. ”

“I believe this had to be the WORST place I have ever eaten at in my life. The food was awful. We spent $62 on the buffet and left hungary (that price was just for food & 2 soft drinks). I would not recommend this place to anyone ”
