Salty Dog Bar Inc
Apr 24, 2009 by brent from warren

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8
Food:[5] • Service:[4] • Atmosphere:[1]

  • Food price, movies.
  • Small shots, barmaids are rude, only well beer.

“Barmaid has absolutely no interests except to complain and talk on her phone. Then she gets upset when I asked her to make me cheese burger at lunch! But I did have a lunch special burger and it was very good. I think that this place would make a great place for everyone who wanted to save a buck and have good food! Down fall of this bar is it only has well beer and the shots are very very small(3/4oz). Order a pop that well worth it with lunch.”

Food:[9] • Service:[8] • Atmosphere:[8]

  • Great Margarita's.
  • Occasional long wait.

“Our family has been coming to Juan's for several years now. Some relatives who have actually tasted authentic Mexican food say it's very good. Even better than downtown. The Traditional Margaretta's are so good. Stop in and check it out for yourself.”

Juan's Hacienda Inc
Apr 3, 2008 by Karen from Berkley

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8
Food:[9] • Service:[7] • Atmosphere:[7]

  • Hot salsa is actually hot & spicy!
  • Smoking. The smoking section is right next to the non-smoking section!

“The food was very good! I had the chicken burritos which were stuffed full of chicken! And this restaurant actually uses white chicken meat. I was very happy to not to find any mystery meat which you can find at some Mexican restaurants. Wait staff was a bit slow but friendly.”

  • Great food, prices great staff - Big selection, tons of low priced specials. Ordering breakfast? Your own carafe of coffee!
  • Didn't like the moussaka only thing that wasn't good (for years) though!

“Seros has been in the area about 30 years. Located in Royal Oak for ages before moving to nearby Madison Heights. Excellent values, wonderful breakfasts, as well as many delicious entrees. Rocky is a warm and wonderful guy!”

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9
Food:[9] • Service:[10] • Atmosphere:[9]

  • Excellent food, friendly waitresses.

Breakfast Club
Jun 9, 2007 by Laura from Clawson

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10
Food:[10] • Service:[10] • Atmosphere:[9]

  • The free first cup of coffee with flavored creamers if you have to wait.
  • The restaurant is not very big, and that actually is what makes is special.

“This quite little restaurant is very charming; right from when you walk through the door to when you get ready to leave after you are plenty full. The food quantities are generous and everyone on the staff is very friendly. They have a great menu with both traditional and non-traditional items. Anyone who decides to take a chance on The Breakfast Club will not be disappointed. In fact, you will want to return next visit.”

Boodles Restaurant
Mar 27, 2007 by Carolyn from Rochester

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1
Food:[1] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[1]

  • Did not get food poisoning.
  • Food, atmosphere, staff attitude, cleanliness.

“Smoke from the bar permeates the entire place. We wanted to sit at the window but we were told it was a smoking section. When I called for reservations we were told there was no smoking in the restaurant. Table side preparation? Do not be fooled. The preparation took place in the hallway under the restroom sign. We questioned this and were told basically, too bad. Caesar salad had at least 10 times the amount of garlic needed. Steak Diane was over-spiced. We left with our mouths burning and burping garlic all night. Staff and owner could have cared less about our concerns. Very expensive for a very bad meal that left a bad taste in our mouth. No pun intended. Will not return. We definitely got ripped off and I am sorry we did not walk out as soon as we saw the 'table side' preparation happening next to the restroom! ”

Juan's Hacienda Inc
May 30, 2006 by Brad from Hazel Park

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10
Food:[8] • Service:[9] • Atmosphere:[8]

  • Fresh flour tortillas.
  • occasional long wait.

“I have eaten at plenty of Mexican style places over the years, and while there are better places, this one is great and affordable. Not a small place, but not big either, it has a more personal feel than the larger "real" Mexican establishments downtown, but tends to fill up fast on busy nights. I don't really consider any Mexican foods to be "authentic" really, but this the same type of food the place in my hometown had growing up. That place had a single family that ran the restaurant (a woman and her husband ran it, she cooked most everything). That's as close to authentic as I have seen, as the woman was Mexican, and they immigrated in the 70s. This place had similar food. As for service, I've never been anything but pleased. I've actually said something at the beginning of my meal when something wasn't right, and they made it right.”
