Pizza Palace

• The owner was actually there talking to customers, that speaks well of the place to me.
• Pretty busy & crowded.

“Finally a restaurant in a tourist town that knows about service and how to be friendly to travelers. The food was the best we found in the area (Darrows was recommended and good, too, but was too much a Grey hair hangout for us). The pizza palace servers were good even though the place was really busy (a Saturday night) and the pizza is really the best we've had anywhere. One of the owners actually asked us for our suggestions on anything and also said they make dough and sauce every day. We used the pizza sauce to dip our appetizers its that good. We were surprised to see so much variety, its not just pizza, they, ribs, chicken, steak salads, on and on. We'll definitely be back our next trip.”

• Atmosphere is really clean and servers are great, friendly and fun.
• Can't think of anything.

“The menu has so much more than pizza (the pizza brought us back the second time, but the menu coaxed us to try something different on visits 2 and 3, and are we glad we did). We'd eaten a lettuce wedge in other places and were surprised to find that the Pizza Palace's was better than most.”

• Most everything.
• Pretty busy place, but I guess that's because it's good!

“Wow - big menu with lots of variety. Loved the Entree Salads and Ribs (way to go, Pizza Palace). The place is clean (looks new) and was great for my kids (cartoons on TV for them, Red Wings hockey for me). Great servers make it fun to be there. As they say, I'll be back!”

• The pizza was great.
• The dive/old bar feel is gone.

“I was there in the summertime and it was my first visit back since the remodel after the fire. The pizza is still great! I do miss the old bar feel and the funny T-shirts they used to keep upstairs along with the museum. The service can vary depending on the time you're there but we didn't have any problems. If you have to wait, have a few beers! We took a pint glass home as a souvenir.”

• All staff members constantly wore a smile.
• None!

“The pancake chef provides hands down the best service in mackinaw city. Great food and a great value make this little restaurant well worth the visit. They have maintained a family atmosphere with a personal touch to service not usually seen in a tourist town.”

• Service and food.
• Small space for large crowd.

“Overhearing other tourists talk about the food at Pizza Palace we went there for dinner and were not disappointed. It was very crowded when other eateries were not (a good sign). They made every effort to seat guests promptly. Our food was brought to us fairly quickly considering the crowd and was excellent especially the supreme pizza. The service was very good as well.”

• Quality, service, cleanliness, friendly.
• Sometimes had to wait for a table, but not too long.

“Our first visit was on a Sunday at noon after arriving at our vacation destination. Cunningham's offered a turkey and dressing dinner at a very reasonable price that made us feel as though we were eating at Grandma's house on Thanksgiving.

For excellent quality food at an affordable price, (which is hard to find in a "tourist town"), Cunningham's will never let you down.

We returned during our week's stay several times, for breakfast, lunch and dinner and were never disappointed.”
