Asian Buffet
Jan 9, 2009 by Bill from Plymouth

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1
Food:[1] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[2]

  • There is a barbeque next door.
  • Poor service, bad food, and rude management.

“In a fortune cookie, the story of the Asian Buffet on five mile rd in Plymouth, Mi is poor service, bad food, rude management and great place to avoid. I'm sure there are worse places to eat in Plymouth, maybe the prison on six mile road. No prison food is probably better because they at least have to meet health code standards. I'll not be back and would actively not recommend Asian Buffet to anyone. 9 January 2009.”

E G Nicks
Mar 29, 2008 by Sharon from Plymouth

Overall Rating: 7 User Rating Score: 7
Food:[9] • Service:[7] • Atmosphere:[8]

  • We loved our server.
  • All the servers should be trained by her.

“I noticed that the review I read gave E G Nicks service a rating of 5. I think that could be the biggest flaw with this otherwise very nice restaurant. My husband and I use to go there fairly often, as it is within walking distance from our home. The food was always good. The seating is comfy whether you are at a table or a booth, and we enjoyed the atmosphere. Our favorite place to sit has always by the window, so we can do a little people watching while we dine. We stopped going there because we got so tired of the lousy service. We have had OK servers, and lousy servers. Overall, we stopped going as we felt the wait staff left a great deal to be desired. They were slow, and seemed unconcerned with whether we were taken care of. We usually had to try and wave them over to get refills of coffee, or ask for things we needed. One night recently, we decided to give it another go, and I was pleasantly surprised. I had to re-evaluate my service rating. We were delighted to have an outstanding server. My husband and I agreed that she should train the other servers. She was more than efficient and attentive. She was absolutely charming, and for the first time my husband and I were inspired to give more than the obligatory 20%. In my opinion, a good meal is expected from a restaurant establishment, but a great meal depends on the service. After all, there is plenty of good food to be had from take out restaurants. When we go out for a sit down meal, we walk out full and smiling, with a vow to return.”

Atlantis Restaurant
Mar 27, 2008 by gwen from Livonia

Overall Rating: 4 User Rating Score: 4
Food:[9] • Service:[9] • Atmosphere:[1]

  • Food, service.
  • It was not a comfortable atmosphere and it was COLD, very COLD and will not return for this reason.

“This was our second visit in many years - for the reason that we found out still existed. It is not warm in atmosphere and it was COLD on both occasions - requiring us and 8 or of 10 diners to remain in their coats. It was chilling cold and add that to the "non-cozy" atmosphere - it was not a good experience. The food was good though.”

E G Nicks
Mar 3, 2008 by James from Northville

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8
Food:[7] • Service:[9] • Atmosphere:[8]

  • Great Service every time we visit.
  • Needs better desserts.

“I have been to EG Nicks in Downtown Plymouth many times. The visit I had with my family at EG Nicks this time was again a very pleasant one. I was at EG Nicks on a Saturday Night the restaurant didn't have a line out the door but it was almost full. Our waiter was able to suggest at least one item from each category and giving us ample decisions. The food is priced very well making EG Nicks suitable for all occasions. Our Waiter was a young man and he seemed to be very good at handling the tables that he had, which was 4 maybe 5) and he was able to provide us with the attention that we desired. The salads were very large and could possibly have been 2/3rds the size they were but the entrees were very good, I had the Ribs and my wife had the Mahi Mahi, which was on there specials card. The only thing left to be desired was a desert that would have done the rest of the meal justice.”

E G Nicks
Aug 21, 2007 by nancy from plymouth

Overall Rating: 7 User Rating Score: 7
Food:[8] • Service:[5] • Atmosphere:[8]

  • Atmosphere, food.
  • Lack of training for wait staff.

“I enjoy the location of the restaurant. You can sit near the window and watch people on the street coming in and out of stores. I have been there three times. On one occasion, we had a young, nice looking waiter who could not answer any questions we had about the foods on the menu. He didn't even attempt to say he would ask the cook, manager, etc. for us. Another time, a different waiter seemed disinterested in being there and didn't smile. He brought me the wrong vegetables I had ordered and when I asked about them he said he must have written it down wrong. He was able however to answer questions we had about items on the menu. The food tasted good. The salmon is excellent.”

Cozy Cafe
Aug 21, 2007 by nancy rose from plymouth

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8
Food:[7] • Service:[8] • Atmosphere:[9]

  • Atmosphere, food.
  • Large bread rolls, hours.

“Love the restaurant inside and out. New management added a green fence to seating outside and changed the hours. It is only open until 3:00. That's somewhat inconvenient since I like to shop there with friends and stay later or may want a take out dinner. I absolutely loved their large tasty bread roll-it didn't even need butter to taste good. However, last time I was there it didn't taste good at all and the waitress said they couldn't find a baker who could make it the same way. I hope they keep trying to find one who can match the look and taste soon. That was one of the foods I looked forward to eating. I enjoy their omelets.”

Little Bangkok Cuisine
Jul 27, 2007 by Mike from Canton

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9
Food:[9] • Service:[9] • Atmosphere:[8]

  • Loved the food (flavor and bang for the buck). Service is great, too.
  • Lack of ambiance, not much of an atmosphere.

“The food here is, quite honestly, all you can ask for. First of all, you receive a large portion at a very reasonable price - yet, I realize that this means nothing if the food itself is of low quality. That's where little Bangkok comes through. Flavor-wise, it measures up with any Thai restaurant in the area. I've come back many, many times with my family and every dish we have had here has been satisfying - both filling and delicious. The service is prompt and incredibly friendly (it is obvious that it is run by a family). While they may be quiet at first (this is expected), if you show them a smile and a little small talk, they will open up. What is nice is that they will remember you - they'll ask how little Suzie is doing in softball or how work has been. This is what I mean when I say that it is family friendly. It's a small place, a little hole in the wall, but I highly recommend it.”

  • Food, wait staff.

“Great food and service. Try their breasted chicken, the best anywhere. All their soups are wonderful (Cabbage is my favorite). I would recommend this place to everyone. No credit cards. Cash only. ”

Three Brothers
Oct 6, 2006 by Bonnie from Youngstown,OH

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8
Food:[10] • Service:[8] • Atmosphere:[8]

  • Food, price and the waitresses.
  • Can be crowded after church on Sunday.

“Like being in Babci's kitchen. Good, good ,good Polish and American food. Newly decorated and seems to always be crowded with hungry people-but you don't leave that way. Excellent breakfasts at a small price. The Polish foods are to die for. I love the chicken dumpling soup and city chicken platter. Two large skewers of city chicken, mashed potatoes, gravy and green beans. Served with the best rye and white bread basket. Excellent pirogies, and if you can't decide the Polish platter is generous with kielbasa, pirogues and sauerkraut. A good place for family, cheerful wait people and you always leave with more food than you could eat. ”

Station 885 Restaurant
Mar 3, 2006 by John from Canton

Overall Rating: 7 User Rating Score: 7
Food:[5] • Service:[8] • Atmosphere:[8]

  • Great atmosphere, nice railroad theme. Low lighting nice fireplaces.
  • Menu changes not good. Food is lower quality and selection not as good.

“For most who would dine at Station 885 there will be good food and a wonderful atmosphere. But if you have visited before December 2005, you may be greatly disappointed by the menu changes. Some of the best items are gone and there were big recipe changes in others. Many of the best appetizers are now gone as well. Before December I'd rate their food as a 10. It is worth a try if you have never been there, but to regulars, you might be disappointed.”
