Willows Pizza & Restaurant

• Management is horrifying.

“We have been customers of Willow's Pizza in South Portland for years as we like their pizza. We are low income family of 5, so we are lucky to even afford the pizza once in a while. We were harassed by the delivery person who looked like he was on some kind of drugs, and he refused to sign their buy 9 get one free card walking away & stating he will sign it when he gets a tip. At the time we could only afford to tip him $1+ as that is all we had extra. When I spoke to the manager I was told that if we threw them a couple of bucks now & then they wouldn't be that way and that we had been "stiffing" them for years. It was horrifying to hear the mentality of the manager. We are now scared to even eat the pizza for fear of them doing something to it since we did not know they take note of who "stiffs" them or not. Scary. We didn't realize they were keeping score of our tips. That is very wrong! They could do anything to that food. Beware poor tipper's.”

• The Antipasto Salad is huge, fresh and good.
• The atmosphere is basic diner.

“Willows offer home-style Italian food at a more than fair price. Their Antipasto Salad is the best. Too bad they don't sell the dressing in bulk. Service is fast and friendly.”

“My wife and I were in today for some chilli and garlic bread and what we got was a good bowl of chilli and two hunks of bread with no butter. I went up to get some butter and this girl had to ask if I could have any butter but before this as I was cashing out I told the manager that there were no tables available to sit at so he went out to clean a few and disappeared in the back room. We both had to tear our bun apart to put butter on it as the bun was suppose to be the garlic split bun with the meal but things seemed so out of way, we said nothing. When we finished our meal, every table was taken up with spent rubbish and nobody was even cleaning off the tables. Shame on this establishment. I spent half my life in dealing with the public and I have never been so upset with what I went through today---3 -27-07.”

“I went to this restaurant based on a review I read saying that it was one of south Portland¿s best seafood restaurants. I was unimpressed with the food. The lobster was really tough, as if it had been sitting in the pot simmering all day; the rice I ordered on the side tasted as if it came straight out of a box. The atmosphere was "cafeteria like." overall, I was really let down. However, the waitress was and service in general was very good.”
