“This place was terrible, The fried rice tasted burned and had big clumps of plain rice mixed in with it, the egg roll was burned on both ends and when we asked for another one we were told they were all the same.”

“August 26, 2009 first and only visit, disgusting is the word. The food was okay but the bar was dirty. When you make the mistake of trying to use the men's room you will never ever finish your meal. The overwhelming stench coupled with the sticky floor says it all. Try to wash your hands and you find there is no running hot water. When you mention the condition to the staff they laugh and say not my job and there is nothing I can do about it. They insisted there was no manager on duty and then tried to blame the customers for the filth. If they let an area of the restaurant the public sees gets this disgusting, what is going on behind the closed doors of the Kitchen? If you are reading this, do yourself a favor and stay away!”

“Do not order a burger. Worst I have had at any restaurant. Pre-cooked weight is supposed to be 1/4 pound but when delivered to table the burger was totally dried up and had no taste. What a disappointment! Best to avoid eating here if at all possible.”

“I had lunch at Fuji today - a basic sushi and sashimi meal. I paid the bill and left to shop, and in about 10 minutes began to cramp badly and need to visit a rest room, symptoms anyone who eats raw fish would recognize at once. recognize as food poisoning. Fuji was around the corner, so I went back in, heading down the stairs to the rest rooms. A cook was coming in at the time, and when he saw me going down he informed me that the restrooms were not public. I replied that I had just dined there a few minutes ago, but was not feeling sick. He repeated his warning, a little more threatening. I replied that I was sick from their food and has been in the restaurant a few minutes earlier, and headed down to the basement where their restrooms are. While I was waiting, very uncomfortable, for someone to exit the toilet area of the men's room another person came down and very rudely ordered me to leave, saying repeatedly public rest room outside. I replied, again, that I had eaten there a few minutes before and was now getting sick. This man grew increasingly belligerent and threatening, crowding me in the little restroom. I stumbled outside and walked 50 very uncomfortable yards to the cold, damp public restroom, where I had a moment that people in such situations will identify with. It was not my last such moment today. There is another restaurant nearby, Ben Kay, that serves reliable sushi and where the staff seems to be very civil.”

“My eggs were cooked too fast and you had to wait an hour to get a seat. Marcy's is way better.”

“Tons of TVs, great music a friendly staff and Jello Shots for all. We went in because of the name and stayed because of the staff and atmosphere. A fun place to meet some people watch a game, play some bar games and hang out with friends. Definitely worth checking out!”

“Our whole family goes to panda garden often. All I have to say I think they are the most kid friendly place I have been. The owner/manager has always been so friendly with my child, who is one. He has always came over and chatted with my child and has done everything possible for making it a great experience. When my child was 6 months old he went out of his way there once and heated him up some warm water so I did not have to use the bathroom water for baby food. The food is great and the beef teriyaki is luscious!”

“Lobster roll is the best in new England. Fresh and not fishy, pure lobster meat-no fillers. And not those tiny finger rolls you get on the waterfront at the tourist joints. This is a local's restaurant. Fairly priced with quality food. Take your meal to the scenic back bay to eat because the atmosphere is no better than a public restroom.”

“My family and I are very frequent visitors of Sapporo restaurant. The staff is wonderful and extremely accommodating to our various food allergies. They treat us like family and we know the staff on a first Name basis (and vice versa!) It's refreshing to be able to have such a wonderful dining experience for a change!”

“We stopped in Portland up on our way from Boston to Bar Harbor and were looking for a nice place to eat. Walters wasn't on the local map that the hotel offered us, but we found it tucked away on Exchange street. The restaurant had a warm brick interior with generous wooden tables. We were immediately seated and asked for our drink preferences The kitchen has been designed to give patrons a nice view into the preparation process without being a distraction. The food was great; I had the filet and my girlfriend had the milano pasta. Both were cooked to perfection. We did not have dessert, but noted a nice array of choices. We would definitely return again.”

“If you are looking for authentic Japanese food, this is the place. The sushi bar is a feast for the senses, artfully presented and very fresh. The bento boxes (samplers) are a wonderful way to tantalize and explore. Set in the heart of the Old Port you can either sit inside amongst the distinctly Japanese surroundings, or enjoy people watching on their terrace near the street. The wait staff is friendly and informative. We dined with our Japanese friend, visiting for a month from Aichi, and she was very happy with the authenticity. She loved the miso soup and variety of sushi served on "iced" platters. If it's authenticity you want, you must try Sapporo. ”

“I'm a NYC native, so usually when I go out of town I like to get out of the hustle and bustle areas. This is why I love this hotel. The tourist stick to the fancy places on the main strip and this little gem caters to the Portland locals and the tourists who know better. Great Oysters of course and the lobster plates are fantastic. Great bar with awesome bloody Mary's and beer on tap. The bucket of steamers (is a must if you love clams) with a pint of beer is perfect for happy hour. So if you're in Portland definitely check out this hotel.”

“Whenever we are in Portland, we usually end up at Walters. The food is always very good. If the daily specials don't appeal, there are always the old standbys on the menu like the fried calamari over salad. Have tried many places for lunch around the port area, but Walters is our favorite.”

“Vacationing in Maine for over 15 years, for 10 years I have been eating at the same restaurant for lobsters rolls and wicked good seafood. In a coastal town in Waldoboro is a restaurant with a bright red roof called Captains Fresh Idea. I absolutely believe they have the best lobster rolls. The lobster roll basket is so good. I recommend their home made coleslaw and homemade potato salad if you get a lobster roll basket. They also have wonderful homemade lobster stew and a great fried clam basket. I must say its a very clean place and a real family restaurant. I always leave full and very satisfied. The price is reasonable, especially the lobster meals. If your not into seafood they have all kinds of cheeseburgers, chicken burgers, chicken tenders, vegetarian meals, tasty salads, homemade chowder, homemade lemonade and desserts and a bar that serves beer and wine. ”
