“I used to eat here when I attended Iowa State back in day. Now that my son is going, I thought I would stop in and try it out again. I guess the original owners are running it again I never knew ownership changed hands but I guess it did. I would recommend any of the steaks with the De Burgo sauce it's good stuff. My wife had the Orange Ruffy and loved it. She said it had a nice light flavor. It seemed a little on the pricey side but considering we had steak and fish, the price isn't any different from any other places.”

“I've been going to Wallaby's for over ten years now. In fact, I met my husband there. It is a great place to go after work and hang out with friends. There were many a night that we we went in right after we got out of work and would stay until the place closed. The wait staff they hire are friendly and willing to go the extra mile. Most all of them are constantly smiling and seem to enjoy their jobs. Now that I have two kids, we still go there! The owner is amazing and knows us by name. He acknowledges us and thanks us for coming every time we see him there, whether we are spending money on dinner or just there for a beer or two. It is no wonder it has stood the test of time 20 years! (Yeah, we were at the celebration party!) it is just a fun place to watch games, hang out and be with friends or family.”

“It's an Arbys like others, but this one isn't corporate owned so good luck if you're looking for a nationally advertised special - they might not have it! The service has been slow, the past few times I've been there.”

“What this hole-in-the-wall diner lacks in service it makes up for with exceptional home-style cooking. My personal favorite is the secret recipe pancakes served daily.”

“I love the taco pizza here, and the lunch buffet is great (and a good value for your money). It gets a little bit noisy because of the kids running around, but it's a fun atmosphere and different from most sit-down places.”

“Unique and excellent tasting meat in tacos. Potato oles are also good. The hard shell tacos are the best deal.”

“I love this restaurant. We eat here every time we are in Ames. It is filling and the prices are reasonable. Any time that you want to get full, come here. It is not too Mexican and that is perfect for my tastes. It is not too spicy and there is not too much of Mexican garnishments (like avocado). It is tucked back off the main road next to Culvers and across from the newest HyVee on Lincoln Way. ”

“It is far away. Meat was impossible to chew, rice came cold, salad was horrible and waitress did not know anything about the food she was serving and kept forgetting what we asked her to bring, plus she was pushing us to finish our food even though the restaurant was empty on Friday night (bad sign!). We paid $100 for two dinners that did not worth that money! Forget it! The owners should rethink if it should stay opened! ”
