Angelos Bar & Grill

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8
Food:[9] • Service:[9] • Atmosphere:[8]

  • The warm loaf of bread.
  • Vegetables are ok.

“Outstanding shrimp Dejonghe as an appetizer or meal, best I have ever had. Meals come with soup or salad (try the Greek style salad w/olives, feta, and sardines +++++) my favorites are Grecian style skirt steak and Basa. Reasonably priced meals.”

Tsukasa Of Tokyo
Oct 24, 2007 by Alex from Chicago

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8
Food:[10] • Service:[6] • Atmosphere:[8]

  • Fresh fish, tasty food all around. Good lunch for Asian businessmen.
  • Too busy for me on the weekends.

“Omega amazing sushi for a landlocked part of the country. I usually come for the fish, but once in a while Ive sat at the Tappan tables as well, and the results are mixed. The food is always delicious (filet and garlic shrimp for me, thanks) but if you're going for the whole show aspect, some chefs are better than others. Ask the host for a fun chef eventually you'll have a good rapport with one of them if you're a regular customer. In response to the other reviewer's complaints about the service I guess Ive spent enough time around first generation Korean immigrants. They have a different idea of what gracious service is sacrificing niceties that Americans like in exchange for efficiency. I'm not saying its right it's definitely something they have to work on but it doesn't bother me like it does other people. In regards to the soup, salad, and appetizer all coming out at once, while the chef is cooking that's only happened to me once and it didn't bother me. I had plenty of time to eat my soup and salad, and besides the chef is cooking at that point, not serving me anything to eat, so the meal still flowed tolerably well. I didn't feel rushed. Bottom line asks for a fun chef, and if you dont like to be rushed just tells the server you don't want to be rushed. Or sit at the sushi bar and relax with a glass of cold sake and some awesome fish. Their Saba is the best.”

Tsukasa Of Tokyo
Nov 1, 2006 by A from Wauconda

Overall Rating: 6 User Rating Score: 6
Food:[9] • Service:[4] • Atmosphere:[6]

  • Food is terrific.
  • The price, the wait staff, and I don't like being rushed through my meal.

“We love the food and the chefs are extremely entertaining. However, the wait staff are terrible; borderline rude and not very attentive. The owners and staff alike are too obvious in rushing you through the meal in order to turn the table more quickly. During peak dinner hours on weekends, it is not unusual to have your appetizer, soup, and salad brought to the table in rapid succession (within 2 minutes of each other). On numerous occasions I have had all three in front of me while the chef is preparing my entree.”

Ruby Tuesday
Sep 19, 2006 by Matthew from Libertyville

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9
Food:[9] • Service:[10] • Atmosphere:[8]

  • Samantha, the waitress who served me, was a true gem. Superb, nearly precognitive service, delivered cheerfully.
  • At my table, and at either table on both sides of me, there was a chilly draft that affected 3/4 of the seats.

“Ruby Tuesday: it fills a niche for the discerning diner. Bright, athletic, efficient wait staff serve piping hot portions of high quality food - if you fancy yourself a burger gourmand, you are in for a treat. The environment encourages quiet conversation, rumination, and provides peace in which to savor your food. The salad bar is better than adequate, with the peas being cool, fresh, and delicious, and the salad dressing ladles kept meticulously clean - no sloppiness here. If you've gone out to eat and regretted it, you didn't eat here. I did not feel "singled out" for excellent service - apparently, everyone gets treated this well here. Not as brightly lit as other restaurants, and not crowded, it seemed like the good wait staff had all been poached for this restaurant. No clue why. Don't really need to know, either. I just enjoy the results.”
