“The food was overpriced, the service was terrible. As I am local business owner I have entertained many clients at local establishments. I have a number of places that use frequently. On the advice of some locals I decided that the 20's Hideout Steakhouse would be a nice change of pace. I did visit the steakhouse prior to bringing in the clients. It was dead and the service was sub par. I blamed this on the lack of clientele. I settled for an appetizer which was fairly sub par as well. Avoid it.”

• Service is always friendly. Steaks are great.
• Men do not remove their caps. Embarrassing to bring out of town guests.

• My steak was very good!
• The problem with the live bug in the salad was not handled well.

“We were having a meal at the hideout in Marion, Illinois. The food was good. However, there was a live bug in my wife's salad. So I told the waitress and thought she would tell the manager. She did not. So later, I called the restaurant and talked with a manager. He apologized and said that he would send me some coupons for food and hoped I would give them another chance. Well, the coupons never came either.”
