• Food and service were great, good follow-up in planning the party.
• It rained when leaving.

“I want to thank the manager and her staff on the outstanding service in helping me to organize a party for my Mom's birthday. This was my first time having to organize a party, and manager and her chief were very professional in how they helped me in planning a menu, and staying within my budget. We had the party on Aug. 8th, and everyone keeps telling me how great everything was. The food, service, and accommodations were all excellent. I know that the next function I'm in charge of, or have any input in planning, we will be at the Buckhead, and I highly recommend you do the same! Again thanks to manager and her staff.”

• The staff was extremely above and beyond helpful.
• Did not give kid's meal for 99 cents like advertised.

“I shopped a store in Clanton Alabama and a sign caught my eye that said Kid's Meals 99 cents with the purchase of a value meal. When I ordered I had two children with me, so I didn't notice the price of my value meal and kid's meal. After I sat down to eat I noticed they charged me full price for the meal. I took the receipt back to the front cash to get a refund, only to have someone in front of me doing the same. The manager then said that she would do it for the lady in front of me, but next time she needed to remember to ask for it or else they wouldn't give her money back next time. I didn't want to be a burden for her, but if the sign says they are 99 cents, shouldn't they just ring up that way. I mean, I purposely purchased a meal to get the 99 cent kid's meal and didn't even get it because I didn't ask for it. That is just ridiculous and you should be ashamed.”

“Real romantic spot! Great date environment. Super friendly spot, warm welcome, pretty good food. Ambiance can't be beat for a first date. Candle lights and roaring fire. No where else in Columbus compares.”

• The menu was a great mixture of food!
• Nothing but the 10 minute wait to eat the great food!

“I really variety of menu options. Nice to get out of the chain routine of Atlanta. Service was friendly and prompt. I thought the atmosphere was great and really enjoyed the change of pass from the big city rush. Will and have come back several times.”

• Not many menu choices, decor needs updated.

“The food is absolutely fantastic! I was surprised at how good it was. The wait staff was also very friendly. As a previous poster mentioned, it's a small, quaint place, which in my opinion, could use some updating. The food was so great I would love to see more items added to the menu, as there aren't that many choices. They did have a children's menu though with a few choices. Can't say enough good things about the food - I'm visiting from out of town for a week and I'm sure I'll go there at least another 2-4x while I'm here!”

• Fantastic cheese dip.
• Canned chicken.

“I would say my food was just okay. I have had chicken enchiladas there twice and both times I was disappointed (I thought it was a fluke the first time). I would swear that the chicken came from a can! It was stringy and tasted like nothing. The cheese dip is very good but I can't live on chips and cheese alone! Service was fine. I felt a bit rushed and like they really didn't care but it was fine.”

“This steak and seafood restaurant provides all the extras you'd expect from a Southern-style establishment. A large, roomy bar, an award-winning wine list, and some of the best certified cuts in the area. For dinner, start with crab bisque, and then take your pick of a thick juicy certified prime rib, or a bistro surf and turf. We just had our office party there and had a superb time. Staff waited on us hand and foot and the Chef came out to ensure everything was alright. It was - no complaints whatsoever - will be going back for my anniversary at the end of the month. They are picking up the flowers and ordering our favorite French wine (not on their list) - I don't know of any other restaurant in Columbus that goes out of their way like that.”

• Ambiance was perfect - for either romance or business.
• Service staff need some fine tuning.

“I've had the great pleasure of dining at Buckhead several times and I must say I'm impressed. The service is wonderful with tons of class. The food is delicious as well. When dining you have the choice of a prime rib dinner or a twin lobster tail dinner. Lots of choices. All are fantastic. But the prime rib is so delicious. I recommend going on a Sunday and getting it - medium rare. Their portions are huge so you will never leave hungry which more than justifies the price tag per plate. In terms of ambiance I would recommend Buckhead for the couples that want a quiet night to sit and talk or the typical business traveler needing a restaurant that will impress clients and provide a great atmosphere for conversing without being bothered by rude teenagers or crying babies. Overall an awesome place to eat.”

“Our family (a party of six) visited Columbus to take part in Family Day weekend at Fort Benning and during the course of our stay we visited the Buckhead twice (it was in close proximity to our hotel). Dinner rolls were heavy, salads were unimaginative, salad dressing appeared watered down. Entree was less than memorable. Asparagus was hard, only the tips were tender enough to eat. Salmon was mushy inside. The loaded baked potato came topped with margarine instead of butter. A drink order was forgotten as was the pepper mill for our salad. We will be returning to Columbus in December and you can be sure we will not be returning to this resturant. We were automatically charged a 20% tip. A better meal was had by all at Ruby Tuesday.”

• Better Salads.

“I was very impressed. My daughter ordered the half chicken. It was cooked to perfection, the skin was crispy, the meat succulent. And this may have been the best creamed spinach I have ever had. The salads we started with where a bit disappointing, but overall, the food was incredible!”

• Spotless ladies restroom.
• Lots of overly cute waitresses :).

“Wonderful Experience. I had the shrimp and grits and a Chocolate Tini. Very warm and inviting atmosphere. The service was excellent and the manager (who is a woman!) checked on us three times. She made us feel special. True Southern hospitality! Highly recommend to all out of Towner looking for upscale friendly dining.”

“Shogun in Columbus is by far the worst Japanese restaurant I have ever eaten in. The house salad is served with so much salad dressing that is looks more like a soup. The Miso soup is salty. Do not order the salmon skin roll and check any of your menu items with avocado as half of my California roll was made with bruised, mushy avocado.”

“Don't bother. Atmosphere was loud. Cleanliness of table suspect. Waitress looked unkempt - if personal appearance is neglected I suspect the approach to cleanliness is the same. Meals were delayed with no explanation or apology. The food was less than mediocre. The menu was rubber-stamped of many chains with no particular personality or specialty. Nachos appeared looking like they had been prepared so far in advance that the cheese had progressed from melted to coagulated and rubbery. My grilled shrimp were OK but looked like they had been slapped on the plate in an assembly line with the other two items. Better to go to a chain where you know what to expect and what not to hope for. No redeeming qualities.”

• There isn't a Bulkheads in Chicago area.

“We loved this restaurant! The service was the best! The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. The food we had was perfect, too. We couldn't believe it. We were in town for the weekend for the NFCC College Softball Tournament. We ate there every night! We couldn't believe the value, we had the surf and turf every night and shared it because there was so much food. For $29.99 you can't beat it. It came with a salad and a side plus the warm rolls that were delicious. We can't speak about any desserts we were to full to have any! I wish there was a Bulkheads nearby.”

“Great food. I love their chicken slake; I guess it's spelled like that. It's awesome. And their gyro wraps, pizzas and their pasta. You guys really rock. I love every kind of their food. Whatever they make tastes awesome and fresh. They make everything from scratch which makes anything they make taste awesome. I eat there almost every other day for lunch and dinner.”

• They could have a little more room.

“I have been going to this restaurant for years and they have never let me down. It is really hard to find a place to eat in Columbus where people actually care about their jobs. I have noticed the same waiters and waitresses there for years and they really seem to like their jobs, which does a lot for atmosphere. I have even built a casual report with the owners. I always promise myself that I will try something different when I go in there, but I always order the pizza.”

“Tasteless from the under-cooked zero-flavor pot-stickers to the to the flavorless shrimp to the crispy duck that was deep-fried and over-fried at that. It had accolades on the walls that it had received in the past, but those days must be over because it was really pretty bad. Decor was cute. Service was good. We'll never be back.”

“This restaurant is extremely dirty and don't even think about using the bathroom. They keep it in disgusting shape and you won't want to eat your meal after you eat it. It has great potential, but is not kept clean at all.”

“The first time I ate at this restaurant, I was hooked; I was visiting my niece for the weekend. The wait time is short the service is prompt and friendly and the food is so delicious, my favorite thing to get is the catfish Brock/fries/. The food is good and they give you more than enough, I tell everyone I know about it , I only tell them not to take my word but just go and see for themselves, the only thing I wish is that we had more locations especially in my area. I will be going again this weekend with my best friend.”

• Steak was good, not great.

“This place was crowded on a Saturday night around 7:30pm. The wait was only 15 - 20 minutes. We were hesitant to eat here because the prices were so reasonable....especially for items like salmon. We just knew quality would suffered. I wanted the chicken pot pie after seeing about five people in my area order it. I ordered steak, which was okay, not the best, but well seasoned. I got a steak over onion strips, loaded baked potato, and a side. There is almost too much on the menu. I had a hard time choosing. I had the best frozen drink ever - a Peach Bellini's. You have to pay extra for the WONDERFUL croissants. I was visiting a relative and we were at the table deciding what we were going to eat the next time I came back to the area! Service was good. We were out in about an hour. I will definitely go back.”

“The only thing I can really say is if you are ever in Columbus GA, Please pretty please do yourself a big favor and try this place. The theme of this restaurant is very unique and the food is delicious. Everything is freshly prepared and the staff is just wonderful. The prices match the quality, taste, and presentation of the meals. A++++++ in my book.”

• Friendly cute wait staff. Good sweet tea.

“Excellent catfish. Comes hot and crisp from fryer. Good coleslaw and hush puppies served when you are seated. If you like bone-in catfish, this is one of the better places in the south. Side of choice should be the very tasty cheese grits. Family owned since the 40's. Very friendly service and clientele. Locals favorite and not too easy to find near Peachtree Mall but off the beaten path. I have never had cold food and usually have to sit and wait for the fish to cool down before trying to eat it. A unique environment with galvanized tin and faux-screened-porch, southern ambiance that the brick storefront doesn't give away from the street. Excellent all around experience for couples or families.”

“This is the best place I have ever eaten. I worked here a while. The people are very nice, and they meet all your needs. The food is great, the cooks take their time to make sure the food is the way you want it. This is a great place, they will deliver to you or you can pick it up.”

“If you enjoy a 40 minute wait to get your food, or if you enjoy having other customers come in 15 minutes after you and receiving their food before you, you will luv this place. The food taste great however the service and GM will make you throw up!!!!”
