User Reviews for Atlanta Restaurants« Go back to Pittsburgh RestaurantsResearch User Reviews for Atlanta (41-60 of 117)Pitty Pats Porch Restaurant
“I had read great things about this restaurant. Boy was I lied to. The atmosphere is mediocre. I walked in and was not greeted and had to hunt down the staff who were all talking amongst themselves downstairs. The bread was cold and the service was spotty at best. The main course was tasty but should have come with 5 plates for the price I paid. I was in a party of 3 and needed the check split up. This didn't seem to be a problem for the waiter but was obviously one since there was a 20 percent gratuity added to each check for the trouble. This is no place to go unless you are stuck Downtown with a business expense account.”

“The 'spicy' chicken was not spicy. The cooking oil was WAY over due for a changing and the chicken tasted like it. I had not bought anything from Mrs. Winners for a LONG time, now I know why. I don't fault the personnel, I fault the company for not enforcing rules that will prevent this from occurring.”

“One of the better dining experiences. When I went, the staff was all dressed like monks. Our server even chanted the specials in tune with the live classical music. The "monk" had a great sense of humor and after recanting a long list of possible desserts, I asked if there was going to be a test on what he had told us. He replied that there would be no tests on the dessert menu, only confessions. This place is only about 1 block from the Fox Theater where we followed a wonderful dinner with a performance of Cats.”

“Today is Sunday February 3, 2008. I invited another couple out for dinner and went to our Golden Corral. Our friends wanted steak. When arriving no steak was done, said it would be at least 15 minutes. We ordered done. During this time the steak was taken up in med. done and rare. Finally when we did get one it was black and crispy. My friends had to get up and go ask for tea, and when she came to the table to pour mine most of it was in my shoe. Because of them cutting up from table to table. I use to eat at this restaurant every day on the senior special. But the food got so bad until all the seniors have changed to Ryans. If they could send someone down here to talk to all of the seniors at Ryans they would all tell you the same thing? At one time we wandered what happen to all of Golden Corrals customers and we went to Ryans and there they were. But when we went in they gave us 8 extra plates, out of the 8 six of them were dirty. The waitress said all he does is shoot the spray on them and let them go. I had noticed when we went in they always check the plates before they give them to you and sometimes throws one or two under the counter. But tonight was my last night to ever step another foot in that place. But it is ashamed to have a restaurant within a mile of your home and have to go all the way across town and out by the mall to eat. For we eat out everyday. I have even thought about reporting them to the health office, but maybe some people can't go all the way across town. But I am sure they would really be interested in what is going on out there. Just spaying off dishes does not clean the germs. Since I was told that I want no part of their food or dishes. I am so sorry to be complaining because I am not one to complain, but at least if you could do something it would help the few that still eat there. It really needs some management. You can even talk to the waitresses and they will tell you the same. Their business has dropped off to nothing. Could you please check on it? For if it is left running like it is it would be better off closed. May save someone some health problems. As I said I am very sorry but it uses to be a good place to eat and take your family but no more.”

“This restaurant has the worst drive-thru in Atlanta. They have consistently given me food prepared contrary to my stated request. This last time, which has been the fifth time that the restaurant has given me the incorrect food, was it for me. I strongly suggest you stay away from this restaurant, its bad news.”

“I have been eating at the varsity for 50 years. I have eaten at the finer ATL restaurants and use to would pick the varsity over any or them. No more. They have changed their way of doing the buns and it is not original any more. I use to love the chili cheese burgers and chili cheese dogs (pimento cheese) but when I was their Monday, the buns on both were so soft they were almost soggy. What happened to the original way of doing they in the machine that made them crisp? That was what made the varsity so original. Why change the trade mark? Please go back to the old way of doing things. I can get a chili cheese burger most any place but I want the old good varsity chili cheese burgers and dogs.”

“Another worry I had been the service, since that seemed to be the number 2 complaint for Atlanta Fish Market. Well, no problems here. We were taken care of at timely intervals and treated very well. The food was definitely not a worry, and I am happy to report the food was very good! We had the fried calamari and Shrimp pot stickers for appetizers, the shared Greek salad and the main lobster baked with deviled crab stuffing. We even brought our own bottle of wine since we are very picky and they charge $10 for a corking fee. I will definitely eat there again!”

“The best Greek food ever. The meat, sauce, potatoes, the deserts all fabulous. My family has been going to this restaurant for 20 years. We Native Atlantes now living in Athens, GA but we still make a trip down as often as we can. The dining experience is always consistent. Its never a hit or miss place to eat! Always good always hot and always good service. We love the Greek music too. The best news is they have finally opened a second location on Lawrenceville hwy. Yeah.”

“This place is absolutely fantastic. The food was ok but the atmosphere on a Friday night is amazing. They have belly dancers and ask the patrons to dance as well. It's infectious and you won't be able to just watch. They're so happy and kind that you can't help but be happy yourself. The food is traditional Lebanese food so you have to be ready for almost everything to have lemon in it.”

“KC BBG pit is a nice place to go if you want some good soul food or Texas style barbeque. The atmosphere is nice for a family outing with the wife & kids or according your romantic preferences its a nice place to take your dinner date. They provide live entertainment every Friday night and you will experience anything good ole down home blues, sultry jazz, r& b and even pop-rock to country & western. I have actually performed there as an R&B performer and it were awesome for me as well as the crowd. Enjoy!”

“Front door stuck and it took real effort to open. Bathroom was disgusting, toilet soiled and would not flush, paper towels not working. Staff was too talkative amongst themselves and not paying attention to customers. Potatoes were cold, chicken was paltry. First and last time to visit this piedmont road in midtown location.”

“Manager was rude and didn't bother to thank us; I mean if it was a normal associate. I wouldn't expect it but a manager. It wasn't even busy. No music on or anything, just awkward silence hearing people joking around in the back. Messy tables. This is the one on Lawrenceville Suwannee road. The chicken breast was super dry and salty. Gravy was clumpy. Asked for sauce and she just threw sauce down. My 1st time eating there since I heard good things about it but this location ruined it for me.”

“Lunch on main street is a nice, down-to-earth family restaurant, family owned and operated. I took my family there last month, and I was very impressed with the southern-feel, and southern food. They have different specials every day on their "off the wall" menu. I've been a couple of times with business partners since. I've noticed there are many regulars that come every day there, mostly because of the family-friendly and caring atmosphere. Everyone is on a first Name basis, and it's just a really great place to have lunch. Highly recommended if you are ever in the college park area.”

“Great food - there is something on the menu for everyone. The lobster bisque is wonderful - and not loaded with fat grams. The chicken salad is the best I have ever had. Each time word gets out in my office that I am going to Reuben's; I get orders for lunches to bring back. Fast service, noisy - but worth the trip.”

“I attended the NCTM in conference in Atlanta and had the opportunity to eat lunch at le petit bistro. At the counter, you chose the side you would like, the hot bar or sandwiches & salads. The hot bar offered 3 types of chicken, 2 types of rice, steamed veggies or different types of salad. I chose the honey mustard chicken, brown rice, and steamed veggies. It was wonderful. I was full and didn't feel I had just pigged out. They also have a huge assortment of sandwiches, pasta, salads, and desserts. It was not overly priced and the staff was very friendly and helpful. I ate there everyday of the conference one I discovered this wonderful place.”

“The food tasted great for the most part, but it was overpriced. There's a bar beneath the restaurant, so don't go there if you don't want to listen to obnoxious muffled karaoke during your otherwise fancy dinner. Menu is varied, specials every day. The mixed dryings weren't so hot, but the wine was great. Desserts were amazing.”

“Absolutely one of the best restaurants I have ever been to! The ambience is most appealing. The food is exquisite. The service is top rate. “Every birthday and special occasion, I love to head to M&S. I am a seafood fan and they always have something fresh on the menu each day. The seafood fettuccini is to die for. What something lighter? The seafood cob salad is great and filling. You get such a large portion that you will have take some home. The atmosphere is great for a romantic date and still works well for a business lunch or dinner. The wait staff is great. Glasses are always kept filled. You can achieve some privacy by requesting one of the enclosed booths for you and your sweetie. I highly recommend this restaurant.”

“I was here from NYC. I miss the falafel in NYC, but found it at olive bistro. Now moved here, found it on a relocation trip. Crunchy, tasty, cooked to golden perfection. The Tahini is so good and the hummus is the best. Love the tapenade and all the small plates. Great place to unwind, read a book, sip wine, and munch that falafel all day. Almost forgot that tasty Tabbouleh. So good with a Chardonnay on a hot day. Going back today. Prices are so cheap, they moved to midtown.”

“We went to chops after seeing a show at the fox. This was to celebrate a three generation birthday. When we got there we were told that it would be a short wait, even though we had reservations. This was not a problem; everyone should realize that in today's time you have to wait for everything. Our party of six waited patiently for about 35 minutes. The general manager was so kind to us because we had to wait. He made sure that we were treated like royalty. This had to be one of the best birthday dinners I have ever had and one that I will not forget. I just want to say thanks to Kevin, josh, and the rest of the staff for a great night. My husband and I are working middle class people, are raising six children (not all of them our ours) so this night wasn¿t something that we get to do often. That¿s for making it so special!”

“This restaurant was a great experience. It was my first time in Atlanta and the restaurant was our last stop before we left Atlanta. I must say eating there was one of the biggest highlights of my vacation! The atmosphere was urban chic with a twist of down home southern hospitality at the same time, the food was excellent, the best catfish and grits I have ever tasted, service was upbeat and fast yet still warm and inviting considering the number of people they had to serve on a labor day weekend! I can't stop talking about the place and it will definitely be my 1st stop next time I am in town!”

“Love to eat at your restaurants when in the area. Had dinner there Oct., 4. 06. Ordered my favorite salad. After eating a few bites, I found a wire in the salad about 1 and 1/2" long. Showed it to the server and she never said sorry or anything. She asked if I wanted another one and I said yes, but could not eat much of it. After a few minutes the server came by and wanted to know if I found any debrief in this salad. This completely turned me off. My husband ordered prime rib and was served rib eye steak, we let that go. Will not ever eat at this Houston¿s again. By the way, we were charged the full amount of the bill.”

“Best of best in affordable, even better than most expensive Mediterranean food that I have had in Atlanta. Rivals the east in Chicago. Falafel, just right, crunchy, right amount of spice and great sauces. Grape leaves are simply wonderful and the gyro is great with some Stella. Hummus, is perfect, but do not share, you will eat it all. Tell your friends to get their own. I went back for a lamb kebab and the marinate is so good. Rush, do not walk to Olive Bistro for good, affordable, healthy food. Forget those fast food junk places.”

“Some of the best Greek food I've had can be found at this little hole-in-the-wall diner. It's been here forever and a favorite for Delta employees because the headquarters are right across the street. I love the Gyro plate with potatoes and you must have extra of the heavenly sauce that comes with them. My kids love the Feta Pita, but don't forget to save room for the Baklava which always tastes fresh and homemade. It's not ultra cheap, but worth the visit if you're not counting calories or worried about cholesterol.”
