Mill Steaks & Spirits
Aug 21, 2009 by Stephen from Boise

Overall Rating: 4 User Rating Score: 4
Food:[3] • Service:[5] • Atmosphere:[6]

  • Quaint decor.
  • Food.

“I can cook better steaks at home after buying them at Costco. The meat was flavorless and overdone, the char marks are cute, but the steak literally tasted burnt. The vegetables were the consistency of baby food, perhaps a rubber-coated spoon should be supplied. Note: for my $35.00, I got bread, meat, pureed veggies and?”

Pancake House
Sep 28, 2008 by Julie from Moapa, NV

Overall Rating: 3 User Rating Score: 3
Food:[8] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[7]

  • Food was good.
  • Very unprofessional behavior.

“I came for the first time with my sisters (one of whom recommended it as she has been there before). Food was good, but we did not get served until l hour and ten minutes after we ordered. People came, were served, ate, and left all around us. Our waitress kept apologizing. We asked to see the manager. She refused to come and speak to us; simply told the waitress they were training new cooks. Never apologized. The waitress didn't charge my sisters-in-law for the 2 cinnamon rolls, but the rest of us felt a little stiffed. I will never go back, even though we will be spending a lot of time there, only because the management couldn't care less.”

Mill Steaks & Spirits
Aug 4, 2008 by Judy Carlisle from Tacoma Washington

Overall Rating: 5 User Rating Score: 5
Food:[1] • Service:[5] • Atmosphere:[8]

  • Decor.
  • Tasteless overpriced food.

“Will never recommend or go back. Prime rib was $22 and the 10 oz filet was 32$. They couldn't provide any tomatoes because they said the rate was up and down. Surprise all the other restaurants had them. It was a good thing my prime rib had au jus and horseradish because, except for the skin it was below Denny's standard. Margaritas were served in a tumblers. I would not recommend this restaurant to go - maybe you could get permission to walk around and look at the decor. After looking around, go down the street and around the corner to Steamers. Very professional staff, food is presented very artistically, delicious meals, they even have tomatoes.”

Panda Restaurant
Feb 15, 2008 by Claire from Boise

Overall Rating: 6 User Rating Score: 6
Food:[7] • Service:[6] •

  • Decent Chinese food at a good price.
  • Takeout seems to take forever.

“I think Panda is the only option for Chinese food in McCall. Or maybe I just don't explore enough. I would give it a mixed review. Sometimes I think it is fantastic, and sometimes I am under whelmed. Overall it is good, and you can't beat the view. Especially in the summer time.”

Romanos Italian Ristorante
Jan 12, 2008 by Andrew from Pollock, Idaho

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1
Food:[1] • Service:[3] • Atmosphere:[7]

  • Nice view of the lake.
  • Everything else, the food was horrible.

“You have to be desperate to eat at Romano's. The food is overpriced and underwhelming. Unfortunately, there is no good Italian food in McCall, stick with steaks at the Mill, Panda's or Mexican at Chapala's.”

Mill Steaks & Spirits
May 23, 2007 by Sonja from Caldwell, Idaho

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9
Food:[9] • Service:[9] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • Love the Prime Rib - creamy horseradish - and baked potato.
  • Bit pricey for the whole family.

“All I can say.. Prime Rib.. The Mill is an upscale dining option in McCall, Idaho that offers all of the best steaks and seafood menu items with one of the best sides in the world. The baked potato (you can choose something else - but what Idahoan doesn't love our potatoes?) The atmosphere in the Mill is that of a very quaint ski lodge - using old ski lifs as seating options surround their amazing fireplace in the lobby. All I know is that as a child, this was the place all of the grown ups got to go. Now as an adult, I never miss the chance to enjoy the Savoy meals. Pricing is a bit high for the family, but is definitely worth it for those that enjoy a good steak. ”

Pancake House
May 23, 2007 by Sonja H from Caldwell, ID

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10
Food:[9] • Service:[9] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • One of my most favorite places - from childhood on - Love the Pancake House.
  • I didn't like the Chicken Fried Steak - but it home made and not pre packaged.

“The Pancake House has been always been "The place to go" in McCall, Idaho. I grew up in the mountains of Idaho every weekend during the summer as a child and I remember when the Pancake House was a tiny little place. Their new larger home is just a testament to the popularity, quality and value. Watch out for busy seasons though, you will want to arrive early to get on the reservation list. I have waited up to 3 hours before to eat at the Pancake House and frequent it ever time I am in town. There are so many great items on their menu, and I can never leave without taking a stroll through the Christmas House store. I love the pancake house. You are missing out if you don't take the time to stop here while you are in town.”

Bryans Burger Den Fastfood
Jan 15, 2005 by Brett K . from McCall, ID

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8
Food:[9] • Service:[6] • Atmosphere:[7]

  • Great tater-sticks!
  • Not much to look at

“This is one of your typical all-American joints. Looks like a run-of-the-mill roadside burger joint, but for some reason they can really crank out some tasty food and drinks. Definitely order the tater-sticks and scotch & soda (kid-friendly drink, short for butterscotch!). The service is usually quite slow, thanks to the high-school staff, but usually worth the wait. If you just want a cold soda, stop off and order the jumbo size. They crush the ice nice and small.”

Home Town Pizza
Jan 15, 2005 by Brett K . from McCall, ID

Overall Rating: 7 User Rating Score: 7
Food:[7] • Service:[7] • Atmosphere:[6]

  • Good western style pizza, especially after a long day of skiing
  • Don't do deliver...always a bit cold

“This won't be the best pizza you've ever had, but when you're up in the mountains it seems to hit the spot after a long day of waterskiing or snowmobiling. They do have a salad bar inside that you can load up on...but don't expect a broad selection. Just the basics.”

Bistro 45
Jan 15, 2005 by Brett K . from McCall, ID

Overall Rating: 7 User Rating Score: 7
Food:[7] • Service:[6] • Atmosphere:[8]

  • Nice place to pick up a pannini sandwich
  • Tight fit if you want to sit down

“Small menu, but generally tasty. This is a good place to grab a pannini sandwich or a salad. A little classier than your standard sandwich joint. You can squeeze inside (4 or 5 tables max) or you can sit outside in the summer time and play a little batchi ball in the courtyard. The service is a bit slow, but everyone's friendly. Probably not my favorite place to grab a bite in McCall...I would recommend the Pancake House or My Father's Place.”

My Fathers Place
Jan 15, 2005 by Brett K . from McCall, ID

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8
Food:[8] • Service:[7] • Atmosphere:[9]

  • Very fun roadside burger stand
  • High-school cooks...not always perfect

“This is the best place to get a juicy burger and a hand-made shake in McCall. They have been around for years and have always served up tasty food. They probably have 50+ flavors for big, thick shakes. Tasty onion rings, and foot-long hotdogs. You can eat outside and watch the boaters/fire-fighters drive by in the summer. Enjoy!”

Pancake House
Jan 15, 2005 by Brett K . from McCall, ID

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9
Food:[10] • Service:[8] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • Fantastic breakfasts, good prices.
  • Almost always a wait.

“This place serves up one of the best breakfasts in the country. It's a wide open eating area (probably 5,000 square fee floor space with a rustic lodge feel. Some of our favorites include their huge cinnamon rolls and in the summer...be sure to order the huckleberry pancakes. These are the best! If you go to McCall Idaho, this is a must-visit for a real Idaho experience.”
