• The view.
• Everything else.

“Service was horrible. Manager was rude and could not care less that our food took well over an hour to receive. Never did get the salad, after an hour plus sandwiches finally arrived, well after everyone around us had been served. Watched our waitress play at the hostess stand and not get our order put in for a good 20 minutes. Manager's attitude was poor when confronted, we were told to go if we didn't like it, they didn't need our business.”

• Seafood is the best I've ever had.
• Staff is very rude.

“This is the best seafood ever. The prices are a little high, but the back water dock makes up for it. I would give it a perfect ten, but the staff is so rude (like every business in the Tybee area) you have to flag down the waitress if you need something. Then they act like your on their time. Food - great, people - rude.”

• Got refills when we asked for them.
• Staff uncaring, never got our food we ordered, we left and paid for appetizer.

“Staff is rude. Food has been okay in the past, but not worth the rude staff. Manager could care less. They do not have good reviews. Check out other places on Tybi, save your time and money. We went June 18th 2009 and never received our food. We watched several tables come in after us, get their food eat it and leave. We never got any explanation from the waitress or manager. We were not rude or loud and our kids were polite. Spanky's does not want families to spend their money there. They could care less about us or the lack of service. I've got complaints from my friends about Spanky's and I never believed them until now. Too bad I stuck up for them, and tried to tell my friends to give them another chance. I wish I hadn't, because I was wrong. We will be finding a new spot to eat at after a day at the beach.”

• Good prices, casual atmosphere (beach attire ok) and good service.
• Not the fanciest place if you are trying to impress go somewhere else.

“This sports bar is the best place on Tybee to get good food late. It has a relaxed atmosphere (don't expect the Ritz), a few pool tables and a dart board, but the number one draw has to be the oysters! Living in the Midwest, I love the fact that you can get a dozen on the half shell for under six bucks (they charge $1.99 for one here!). It is a little out of the way, but if you love oysters or if you need good food after a night of bar hopping (the kitchen is open until 2:45am every night), this is the place!”

• Always a healthy portion of food.
• I never have room for desert.

“The food is outstanding, Always served hot and in timely fashion. The wait staff is very helpful on the different dishes served and always offers suggestions. What more can really be said about AJ's if you have never been there before youre really missing out on some great food.”

“Great atmosphere, good food, very high prices on fish (the grouper was $25.99). Small menu. The staff was helpful and friendly. I would recommend this place and will go back but make sure you bring the bank.”

“I've been to Sting Ray's a few times during my visits to Tybee Island. I really enjoy dining on the patio. It gives one a relaxed, beach bum, and care free atmosphere. The food is always good. The soft shelled crab is great.”

• Location, right on the beach.
• Management and service.

“My friends and I never got to experience the food or the service of Fannie's because we were refused seating on the deck because we did not have enough people in our party. There were two open tabs on the deck; one of which seated five, the other seating four. We had three people in our party and we were told that the policy was that they had to have parties of four or more to seat at those tables. We couldn't believe the policy to be true, so we asked to speak with the management. We spoke with him about the policy and he confirmed that we could not be sat. I have never been refused a table because of the amount of people in my party before, so my friends and I will not be going back.”

• It was on the beach.
• Service and the management.

“My friends and I never had the opportunity to taste the food nor see much of the service past the hostess and the manager. We were denied a table on the deck because there were only five seat tables, and because we were only three people. We were told that they will only seat parties of 4 or more at the tables. We couldn't believe the policy to be true, so we asked to speak with the manager; he told us that the policy was correct and that he would rather us take our business somewhere else than to wave the policy by one person. I've never been denied a seat because there were not enough people in the party. We left after speaking with the manager and were very disappointed by the service that was shown to us.”

“The artichoke dip is awesome! I can not say that this location is geared toward the tourist. I think the locals enjoy the location more than the tourists. (They have a different expectation). We also had the hot wings - once again awesome! ”

• It's beautiful, tasty, great service.
• Nothing bad to say.

“AJ's is fabulous! You're on a dock looking out at a beautiful ocean front view. The food is a little expensive, however, you have to take into consideration your surroundings...you're having a meal on the ocean for goodness sake. People from Sandra Bullock, Billy Currington, John Cougar, and Sara Evans have all dined at this amazing restaurant! They have 42 different types of beer, and all types of sea food, the shrimp Po Boy, and the pasta are both amazing! Try it out...you'll love it!”

• Food great.
• Outside eating gets afternoon sun and can be hot.

“This is a beach restaurant, what can you say. Throw on a pair of shorts, shirt and shoes and have a great dinner in a super casual place. The beer is cold and the crab stew is exceptional. The fried shrimp, oysters, and scallops are lightly breaded and wonderful. Looking forward to going back to Tybee Island next year and going to AJ's.

“The staff was more interested in eating their own plates of food at the bar than waiting on our table. I find it gross for staff to be eating while on the clock. Isn't there a health code violation here? Though I admit the food was good not however worth the wait or price. ”
