“I thought the food was delicious. The shrimp were fresh and very tasty. I was there for business and was looking for a good seafood restaurant. I found it with this place. I starting planning a trip for me and my husband to visit this restaurant in the very near future. Excellent!”

“My traveling companion and I fell into the Warehouse whirl traveling in 2007.we didn't leave for a month. This bar sums up everything that is good down south in the USA.”

“I had the best time in this bar! The bartender was a blast and the patrons were friendly and relaxed. It's also nice to sit and watch the ships sail up and down the Savannah River! Give it a try for sure. I also really enjoyed Kevin Barry's Pub, also on the Riverfront.”

“We accidentally discovered Tapas, a most serendipitous event. The soft shell crabs were the best we've ever eaten. Service was quick and attentive. We loved being able to sit outside and people watch. Portions are large enough to share and are priced fairly. We look ofrward to coming back again and again. Our favorite place to eat in all of Savannah.”

“Eaten here twice. First time everything was great. It is Applebee's, so not haute cuisine, just good eating. The first time everything was perfect. The second time however no food got out of the kitchen, everybody was complaining. It took them an hour to get a salad out. Really bad service. We were fortunate that we had a salad since it was cold already, the people on the table next to us got their food cold. Cold hamburgers. To top things off we wanted a dessert. Instead we got the check. Was this because we complained? Who knows. We don't want to know. These bees will no longer fly to this apple tree. Fortunately most other Applebee's got good service.”

“My wife and I stopped for a drink, we are in our 50s. My wife did not have her ID so she was refused service. Later we were told that we had to leave. When I pointed out that it was obvious that we were both over 50 we were told, if you don't like it, don't come back". We will not be going back.”

“Food was very good and fresh, casual atmosphere. Reasonable price . Had a bad experience with the waiter that he gave us totally wrong directions to something, said he had been there and marked our map where it was and not at all the case. Hope he had fun with that!”

“We had eaten at this restaurant in the past and loved it. Having lived in another state for several years (a military family) we had to try it again when we returned to see if it was as good as we remembered. It was better! The server was terrific, knowledgeable and all around terrific. We had a reservation, we arrived a bit early and we were seated and treated as if we were the only guest for the evening. It was a completely wonderful evening and I was full of terrific food when we left. Thanks.”

“This is the perfect place for a romantic dinner. The food was phenomenal but heavily biased toward seafood. This is not a cheap night out but if you want a low key, extremely romantic evening ask for a table upstairs and enjoy.”

“I took a party of 8 to moon river brewing for a birthday celebration while we were waiting to be seated, I tried to get the attention of a waitress to find out the location of the rest rooms. She ignored me and made a face as if I was bothering her. I immediately informed the manager of her poor conduct. When we placed our dinner orders, we were informed that they were out of onion rings and sirloin steaks. At this point, we canceled the entire order and left. I spoke to manager again to let him know our disappointment. He told me that they ran out of many of the menu items because they were busy Friday and Saturday nights. This is poor food inventory management! We will never return to this establishment, and we will inform others to stay away!”

“The food was edible but that's all I can say. We were told the "catch of the day" was a hi-grade tuna. We'd also been told it was fresh. It was barely chicken of the sea grade tuna and it was most like frozen, not fresh. I'd asked for medium rare and you could tell by the color that this was not fresh but frozen tuna. The rice was heavy and greasy and the vegetables limp. Sitting on the balcony was very nice for people and ship watching and the waitress was friendly and efficient. The guitarist was nice also. But the food was horrible!”

“This is our favorite pizza place in Savannah. Don't expect a fast food pizza; your orders are made fresh! Their menu has a great selection for all tastes and they have their own signature beers. You can choose to sit inside where the feel is young and upbeat you can also sit outside at their cafe tables (and bring your pet along). Our waiters have always been friendly and great with our toddler (providing crayons and a picture to color) on top of everything the food is amazing!”

“The food and atmosphere were a great combination for a laid back "Bar and Gill" type restaurant; however, the service was the worst I've ever had. He was unprofessional and uncouth. I heard him swearing within earshot of my child. I'd recommend this place to my friends, but only for cocktails and never with there families. I doubt I will be back to this location.”

“I dine out regularly in Atlanta, so I know great food and wine. Avid was fabulous. The wine list was creative and the owner, brain will get you anything you want. He suggested an outstanding bottle of pinot noir for only $30 and it was amazing. I will come back every time. And it was obvious from the crowd this is where the locals who want great food and wine dine.”

“This was the worst restaurant experience I had in Savannah, GA. We were the only patrons and received our food in fits and starts. I ordered the andouille sausage and potato salad, my husband shimp and fried potatoes. He got his potatoes and ate them before he got his shrimp. I got my sausage and had to ask for my potato salad two times. The rest of our group experienced the same. I think $8 for one sausage is a bit pricey, especially when it wasn't very good. And $4.25 for a side is outrageous. Our server seemed to be "in the clouds" most of the time. The chairs were uncomfortable and it was dark and hard to see.”

“My sister and I eat here every spring when we go to savannah. We love the quick service and the availability of seating. It isn¿t the finest establishment (as far as looks) but it is on river St. And it has that "river" feel. They have the best hushpuppies and shrimp wraps! Our kids like it too, lots of variety for our picky eaters. They don¿t just have fish; they have a pretty good selection of home cooking. I recommend highly! Enjoy!”

“Our experience dining at moon river was disgusting. Our food was not tasty (veggie burger, onion rings, crab melt) and took a long time to prepare, particularly for a slow Sunday night. Had I visited the ladies room prior to ordering, we would have not eaten at all. The bathroom was filthy. There was toilet paper in only one of three stalls which was littered with used feminine hygiene products. Two hours after dinner, both of us got sick with severe intestinal symptoms and remained sick for 2 days, ruining our weekend vacation. I contacted management twice over the next 2 weeks and never received a reply. This was inexcusable.”

“I'm from new England, where great pizza isn't terribly hard to find, in fact it's everywhere. Something about the water or something down here makes pizza. Less than par, however, venue van go-gob's has circumvented the problem area. It tastes like it came from back home, and that is a very good thing.”

“Atmosphere was great. Right on river street. The service was ok, nothing special. And the food was not that bad. I ordered the jambalaya, which I am used to making at home. First off, hues jambalaya was mostly pasta, not rice, there was a canned-tomato taste and I maybe got one piece of shrimp and one piece of sausage. Not the best I¿ve had. My friend ordered the underlie sausage rice and beans and got half a slice of sausage on top, the rest rice. Not the best either. If you forget your cash and can't a drink at wet willies, maybe you might try the bottled beer at this place. By the way, say hello to chef Boyardee while you're ay hues¿.”

“My parents recently took a trip down to savannah from NJ, for their 30th wedding anniversary; I wanted to surprise them with a night out and booked a reservation at old pink house restaurant based on reviews I had read and a recommendation from their hotel. It was the best dining experience they've had in a long time! All I did was make the reservation and mention to the hostess they were visiting for their anniversary, but the restaurant welcomed them in for a "very special night". My parents are still raving about the food and service (my father is a very hard man to please in this area). They loved every minute of the night!”

“The food was the best part and it wasn't even that good. I came here from out of town and expected it to be a decent place based on what I had heard from friends that live in Savannah but it wasn't. There was also some creepy old guy who said he was the owner who kept hitting on me and my friends asking us to go upstairs with him.”

“This is the ONLY place in Savannah that has good sushi and stir-fry. It is a small restaurant with limited seating, but the waiting is well worth it. We go once a week and we're there when the doors open at 5:00 pm. Eichi and Harry really know their craft as the sushi is FABULOUS!!!”

“My family and I stopped in after reading about the this restaurant in the USA Today. This was the best tasting seafood that we have ever had, as well the steak was wonderful. The portions were huge, more than one person can eat, and the price was great. Anyone who is traveling through Savannah, needs to check this place out! In a time where fast food, and chain restaurants dominate, it was nice to see the owner present, and even cooking! ”

“Spanky's is a Sport's Bar type establishment located adjacent to the river on the Savannah River Walk. It has a very friendly environment, great food and excellent menu options. It is a great place to wind down and relax after a busy travel day, break from River Walk shopping, etc. We have been there 5 times in the past 5 years and plan to visit again in October, 2006. It is very relaxing and family friendly for children.”

“We woke up early one morning, wanted to walk on the waterfront and maybe catch an early breakfast next to the water. We had just before, been to New Orleans and grown accustomed to beignets. As we were walking we noticed Hueys opening their doors for breakfast and maybe one other table inside with coffee. We decided to take a look at the menu and noticed beignets on it, which we desired to try. The friendly hostess, who was the only person on duty there at the time seated us and proceeded to bring us coffee, beignets and whatever else we ordered. We left the restaurant with a very positive outlook and feeling about it saying we must try it again when we were back in town. We were just there, April 1st, at night. They were not crowded and did not appear to be closing any time soon to the time we decided to go there, again, and get beignets and coffee. The lady at the door was nice, who seated us. We sat down and assumed we'd wait, maybe 5 minutes. We were very happy when we saw the very expansive and diverse menu, however, the servers saw us sitting there, and no one came to wait on us. There were many servers, who did not appear to be very busy at all. We sat there, sat there, sat there, and no one even gave us a second look to see if we needed anything. I'm going to guess that it was approx 15 minutes before we could get anyone's attention. Sometimes I understand these things, however, a 2-top was sat right behind us, and a waitress who was working that area saw them sit down, walked over towards us, almost said something to us, then passed directly by us to help the table behind us. This is not customer service, it's not good for reputation concerns and it is not right. There was no reason what-so-ever to bypass us and ignore us like the servers at Hueys did that night. Unfortunately, the only thing going for them I believe is their very diverse menu and the crowd that attends hueys is quite nice and easy-going, not high-end, posh, or ritzy- which is why we decided to go in, knowing we had such a good breakfast 5 years before. I recommend the servers pay a lot more attention to their clientele than the attention we received that night. The server who eventually walked over to us didn't bring us silverware until after we received our beignets. Our beignets before had been light, round, and petit with just enough dough and just enough sugar. These beignets were much different and probably ordered-frozen, not handmade like before. The coffee was still good and the clientele around us were nice, those were the only, if that, enjoyable aspects of the restaurant. This is one of the worst restaurant experiences I have ever had and I've traveled many places and eaten out most of the time. I do not wish to go back, ever, and will never recommend it, and tell people it's not worth their time.”

“The Warehouse is a bar and grill in a renovated cotton warehouse facing the river. The staff is friendly and caters to tourists and their prices are reasonable. Enjoyed lunch there (crab stew is house special, pretty darn good). Typical lunch fare, all served promptly and tasting great. Good place to sit back and watch the crowds stroll by. Good mix of locals and tourists. Was recommended by a friend and I would definitely go back. ”

“We have dined at many fine restaurants over the years and, although Elizabeth's came highly recommended, we found it highly disappointing. So much depends on the room you are in, the table you have, the server assigned to your table, etc. so one's experience is very individual. Offered three choices of noisy rooms, we took the least noisy, which was still plenty noisy. Our table was positioned such that my chair was brushed by one of the bustling waiters about eight times. We repositioned the table three times to eliminate the problem. It did feel, however, that I was still stuck out in the traffic pattern. It took 45 minutes before our appetizer came and then only because we inquired about it! After an apology, the rest of the meal came rapidly, almost so rapidly that we felt rushed. The walls were covered with awards and articles to impress us all. However, the poor service, lack of ambiance (could easily eavesdrop on several conversations in the room), and unfriendly attitudes all detracted from the decent (not overly outstanding nor worth the awards in our opinion) food. Parking lot holds about 2-3 cars so plan on street parking. We would definitely not recommend Elizabeth. There are so many more wonderful restaurants in Savannah, especially the crab cakes at the Chart House. Worth the wait for a table on their open porch! You'll find very friendly staff at the Chart House, great food, great wine, and great ambiance!”

“I have lived in Savannah for 4 years, as a student- and lived downtown for 3 of those years. I used to eat at Sushi Zen, but discovered Sushi Time Towa and fell in love with it. There is never a wait, and the sushi is always fast and awesome. My husband and I take our daughter there who is under a year old, and they are great about kids. The atmosphere is laid back, and not pretentious like Sushi Zen. The food is SO much better and you pay a LOT less than downtown. We dont eat sushi anywhere else in Savannah- we have never gotten sick, and never had any bad things to say about this place! DEF. try it before you spend the cash on downtown places. Its worth the few minute drive to the southside. They just expanded, so we have never had to wait for a table even when theyre really busy...and you can watch Sumo Wrestling on TV there while you eat! FUN! HIDDEN GEM!”

“The attitude of the owner ruined the evening- he was pretentious and rude to us and was snobbish to many of the diners, treating the wait staff like they were "beneath him." The restaurant has a nice ambiance but he made everyone uneasy with his attitude. As long as he's not in the dining room or pouring wine- it is probably a nice place to eat.”
