“Been to Magnolia Grill 3 different times and all three times the food was excellent. If you are looking for a quiet and romantic atmosphere then you need to keep looking. If you are looking for an excellent steak or pasta with decent service and prices that match the food then you should enjoy this place. All three times they had somebody playing the accordion and it was packed from door to door, so plan on waiting 20-30 min for a table.”

• Be prepared for whole shrimp. They are great! But it is a bit strange at first.

“Slow service, maybe because the two individuals serving also seated, bussed tables, waited tables, and did the drinks. Everything was at a slow pace. Bread was some kind of pizza though cut up and served with oil and spices that included anchovies, which our two children would have liked to known in advance. The Chicken Masala was so blend, I thought maybe it was prepared for retirement home residents. The girls had spaghetti tasted like it came out of a can. My Chicken Alfredo was actually not bad. Again the chicken was very blend, as if it were boiled then cut up and added to it. Too much money, not as good as the chain stores. Never again.”

“My family and I have vacationed in Destin for the past 25 years or so. There are many a restaurant, but our favorite by-far is staff's. From the homemade salad dressings to the German potato salad; the spiral stairs to the wishing pond; the succulent amberjack to the delicious dessert bar. Staff's has so much to offer. The ambiance is amazing, the food is fabulous and the staff is super. We would never miss out on staff's.”

• My wife won't let me go as often as I would like!

“I used to drive into Destin to go to outback Steakhouse for continually reliable steak. Now, I eat at in another hotel on every occasion, Birthdays, Anniversaries, Father's Day, all of it! I've never had a bad meal there. Friendly wait staff, great service! I highly recommend this restaurant!”

• No matter how I try I can't eat more then 30 wings at a time.

“After being true to the other Wing establishment, I have to admit Buffalo's Wild Wings is the best. Quick service with a smile. The general manager is very observant and a pleasure to talk to.”

• The hostesses need to be a bit more out going. They are too shy.

“They are absolutely incredible. The wait staff is well trained and the management team is just wonderful. The general manager was just delightful. Being a local it is very important for restaurants to cater to you but when a restaurant does it for everyone equally it is just outstanding! They are very professional and I recommend Red Lobster over any of the ones on the beach any day. If you let your server know that it is a special occasion then they will make sure they cater to your needs even more. A+ rating on this end! Thanks and keep up the great work!”

“We go to Fort Walton Beach often and always make a point to eat at Rick's. We love the location on the water, and it is so beautiful at night with the lights shining across the water. The Cream of Crab Soup is wonderful, and we love the king crab legs. We have never been disappointed eating at Rick's. It is one of our favorite places.”

“Another said this is a dirty little restaurant in an old house. I agree. Table cloth was dirty, service was bad, and the broiled fish was the absolute worst I have ever been served on the Gulf Coast, bar none! My advice is stay away from this place. .”

• Really liked the food. We had a table of 5, with filet, the t bone and cheesy chicken ordered. All delicious!
• Furnishings were a little on the corny side. Could really use a spruce up!

“We wanted to take my son out to dinner (a Fort Walton Beach Resident) to a nice steakhouse. We heard from the locals this was the place. If you want to go for great food this is it. The atmosphere is kind of a hodgepodge western theme, cute but not expensive taste by any means. The service was good not great but they made you feel welcome which was nice. I highly recommend if you want to get away from the "chain restaurants" and enjoy a local favorite. It was slammed packed at 6 pm on a Friday with a long line waiting to get in.”

“My wife and I ate at Ricks crab trap for a night out, and are very glad that we did. From the outside, Ricks is very appealing. It sits bayside, on the shore of ft. Walton beach just across from Okaloosa Island. It is at the base of the bridge between ft. Walton and Okaloosa. The restaurant is accessible by car (requires a bit of driving off of us-98) or by boat. There is seating outside on two sides, on a deck overlooking the bay. This is where we sat, so I can't say much about the interior. The tables were fairly rustic, wooden picnic benches, and the tablecloths were a bit worn and weathered. For a casual restaurant, this did not disappoint us. Our waiter was friendly and very laid back. We both ordered soup - my wife ordered crab soup, I got seafood gumbo. As her entree she ordered the crab cake appetizer while I ordered the fried seafood plate. Our soup and my coleslaw came out quickly, and the soup was excellent. My wife threatened to leave me and marry the cook who made hers. When our entrees came out, her crab cakes were good sized, and my plate of seafood was generous. On my plate were one deviled crab (stuffed crab), one piece of fried fish, and a pile of French fries, fried clams, fried shrimp and fried oysters, along with hush puppies. On top of all was a single steamed blue crab. I have few complaints about my meal: one is that tools (a crab fork and something to crack the crab) were not brought out with the meal. I think this was just an oversight; they were brought quickly when I asked the waiter. The other complaint (if you can call it that) is that the fries were nothing special. The seafood, however, was. It tasted very fresh, and nothing was disappointing. After tasting my clams, my wife expressed surprise that they weren't chewy like she expected. We did not get dessert at Ricks crab trap, so I can't give any comment on their dessert quality. After finishing the fried seafood plate I had room for nothing else. After a bad experience with the seafood platter at another local restaurant, Ricks crab trap was a refreshing experience. This was a night-and-day difference in quality. I recommend Ricks to anyone looking for good seafood in the ft. Walton beach/Okaloosa island/Destin area. One final note: on the outside deck are vending machines of fish food. Our kids weren't with us there, but this would certainly be fun for them. Hint: the fish will eat leftover French fries too.”

“I love the sushi here. The best in the area. The hibachi is okay, but will probably not return for hibachi. The service is terrible though. I continue to eat here, but will usually get my food to go. I frequent about once a month (usually to go). Try the volcano rolls. They are awesome!”

“These Folks are very nosy and money-hungry. Why, I walked in with three children and before I had a chance to sit down, the waiter made sure to mention his tip. He informed me he needs tip or I have to go. I will never give business to that place, or suggest anyone else, quite a shame. The food did look appealing.”

• Fantastic customer service!
• The large size 'waterside" is far less in amount compared to the other fast food chains.

“The whaterburger is great. The service is the friendliest and most customer service oriented out of all the "fast food" places around. The food is good quality. I go at least once per week. My order is usually right on the money.”

Los ponchos are tucked away and a little hard to find which makes it a great local place to go without long lines and a long wait. Excellent Mexican food in a very good environment. “Angler's used to have great food, and the view of the beach is really nice. However, something happened to the restaurant over the winter of 2006-2007. The food quality has taken a dive. I ordered Cajun shrimp over linguine. It came with no linguine, so I sent it back. The teenager that claimed to be a manager said they have changed their dishes, but she said they haven't changed their menu yet. They were all out of linguine and would not be getting anymore in. I asked them why they don't put notes on their menus about the changes and all I got was a blank look. So, I ordered shrimp kabobs, and the menu said it came with 3 skewers of shrimp. I got was 2 skewers and all they did not get them cooked right. $19.95 for soggy fries and 8 little shrimp that didn't taste good. Other complaints are they never wiped down our table, the coasters they gave us had food encrusted on them, waited forever for one drink refill, never brought us the ketchup. .”

• No sides, veggies, soup or salads come with the entrees at a moderate price, one would expect more.

“Good food, served as requested and in a timely manner. The service was poor this evening. Waitress shuffling/almost a jog disturbed our conversations and detracted from the atmosphere. The service was average and we received our bread and entrees but the waitress failed to ask on one check or 6 for our party. She was unprofessional with her response when we asked for separate checks. Since this was my first time here, I was disappointed.”

“I am from Texas so I am not from here but this place is not what I thought it was going to be. My husband and I went to dinner here for our 3rd anniversary. We felt that there wasn't much of a selection to choose from. The food was alright but nothing to brag about and for what we spent we had a list of places we should of went to. This isn't a place that we plan on trying again.”

• Fun, friendly place. Great food and excellent wait staff. Prices are great!
• Sitting on the porch overlooking the kiddies playground isn't the best for single women.

“My friends and I vacation each year at Fort Walton Beach. We stay in a hotel right on the beach and we are within walking distance from Anglers. The first year we went we tried a few other restaurants just to shake things up a bit, but we quickly discovered for the price and view you cannot beat Anglers. Everything is delicious from fresh seafood to cheesy burgers. You cannot go wrong sitting on the porch with a beautiful view of the beach. We will spend our 4th year in Fort Walton in May and you can bet we will be back at Anglers. They welcome you in your beach gear, and even provide a small shower to rinse off. The best part for us is we can have a few drinks and not worry about getting in a car, we just stumble back up the beach to our beach chairs. ”
