The Plaka Restaurant
Jun 17, 2009 by Todd from Cincinnati

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10
Food:[10] • Service:[10] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • Everything. Try the Souvlaki.
  • Makes your brother cry.

“I have been eating at the Plaka every June for as long as I can remember. I love everything about it. My family enjoys it so much, my brother cried when he thought they were going out of business (they were just renovating). If you ever visit Fort Myers beach, please don't miss out.”

The Plaka Restaurant
Jun 6, 2009 by Theo from Pgh

Overall Rating: 5 User Rating Score: 5
Food:[4] • Service:[7] • Atmosphere:[8]

  • They know how.
  • The portions are insultingly small, they must be going out of business.

“McGregor Blvd location. They have pretty good food but their portions suggest how cheap they are. When you cut too many corners it ruins a restaurant. They need to get more creative to survive in this market not milk the customers that still dine out. Where's the beef? What other corners are they cutting?.”

Food:[10] • Service:[7] • Atmosphere:[7]

  • Great food, inviting and cozy atmosphere!
  • A bit dark inside, nothing for kids to do.

“The name leads you to believe it is a chain restaurant, but that is definitely not the case. Much more appealing and inviting on the inside, than it looks on the outside! I don't think we would have every found the place, had someone not told us about it. Old world atmosphere, very quaint! Kids are welcome, but bring your own bag of tricks as there is nothing there for them to do. The food was wonderful! I personally thought a bit pricey, but worth it! My 8 year old son loved the lobster bisque!”

Snug Harbor Waterfront Rest
Aug 21, 2008 by Sal from Atlanta

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9

  • Service, view, food.
  • Out of the way.

“We can't say enough about this restaurant. Our meal and the staff were the highlight of this visit to Ft Myers Beach. We have vacationed in this area in the past but have never been to Snug Harbor. Our meal and service had us wondering why we had passed this place up in the past! We will make sure we make it a yearly stop from now on!”

Food:[10] • Service:[9] • Atmosphere:[7]

  • Liked the varied menu selections.
  • Would like to see outdoor dining.

“This restaurant is not very noticeable unless you are looking for it. It is located in a small strip mall near the Winn Dixie store. As for it being family friendly I would say yes, but the atmosphere is somewhat subdued for most young kids. The atmosphere is sort of old world and quaint. Very friendly staff and wonderful food. You can definitely feed 2-3 people with just one order of pasta.”

Fishmonger Restaurant
Jun 8, 2007 by Georgia from Fort Myers

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10
Food:[10] • Service:[10] • Atmosphere:[8]

  • I love the fresh fish, especially tuna.
  • Where are the baked potatoes? I prefer them to mash.

“The fish monger is a favorite among locals. I have eaten there on several occasions and cannot believe someone would have such an awful experience. It's impossible. As winners of the seafood award for the taste of the beach, everyone has high praise for the awesome orange and tomato salad with tuna served. Obviously, the judges really approved of it. My experience there was excellent. I have had wonderful service and wonderful food. It's a great value because all the fish is very fresh as they have their own boats that bring the fish in daily. The fish monger has been around a long time. It's easily located before the beach on san carols. I think you should try it yourself before taking the word of someone that probably did not even eat there. Otherwise, if the service and food was so bad, why did they stay? Something fishy about that last comment.”

Strawberrie Corner Cafe & Ice Cream Parlor, Inc
Nov 22, 2005 by Dave from Washington DC

Overall Rating: 2 User Rating Score: 2
Food:[4] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[4]

  • The air conditioning worked.
  • Bad customer service and worse customer relations on the owner part.

“My family and I went to Strawberry's while on vacation Saturday, 19 Nov 05, for lunch. Strawberry's is a sandwich and ice cream shop. After standing at the counter for a few minutes with out any assistance we realized there was a waitress and you could seat yourself. It took another 5 minutes before anyone came over for our order. All six of us ordered. Two of the orders came back incomplete. My wife's (who ordered soup and chili fries) and my niece's (who ordered the daily special chili dog with chips and a side order of fries). The chili dog came without the chips and neither of them received there fries. Since we could not get the waitress' attention, my wife got up to ask where they were. A few minutes later the regular order of fries came out. My wife then had to ask again where the chili fries were. They finally showed up when the rest of the table was done eating. We sent them back and all of us except my wife ordered ice cream. The order again came out wrong, too many chocolate cones. After 10 minutes waiting after we ordered the bill, I asked the waitress where it was. She then told us to go to the counter. The young lady up there was figuring it out. My wife and I went up to get the hand-written bill. There was a 18% tip already added in. We indicated we though the adding of the tip in was a bit much based on our bad service. The owner of Strawberry's came over and instead of listening to what had happened during our lunch told us based on the amount of food we had it wasn't too much to ask and walk off. This was even more inappropriate than our bad service.”
