Big Daddy's Crab Shack

• One of the quirks about the crabs is waiting in the long line.
• Nothing negative to say.

“I use to live in Florida cape coral as a matter of fact. I lived there for eight years. Got home sick moved back to Colorado but the whole time I was there I went to big daddy's crab shack every chance I got. The garlic eggs,shrimp,corn were the best the garlic crabs were to die for. There were times me and my wife sat up until midnight eating the crabs and drinking beer. I wish they could ship the crabs I would definitely order and pay what ever it costs.”

“Without question the best seafood in Ft. Myers. Large portions. It is located in a strip mall and is not much to look at but it is clean, friendly and great, great food.”

• Good choice of basic sea foods, reasonable prices.
• Not great location, atmosphere - good casual place.

“Good seafood selection for casual, non-gourmet dining. Plain atmosphere restaurant in strip mall near Sams with good service in several visits. Prices are reasonable for food and atmosphere.”

• Awesome food, fun atmosphere, kids love it.
• Refill empty drinks faster.

“Excellent restaurant! The food is delicious and each and every chef is highly trained and also funny! My only complaint is that every time we go there we are constantly waiting on one particular waitress to refill our drinks. Garlic makes you thirsty! All the other waitresses are fast with refilling the drinks, it's just one and she must be family because she has worked there for the last 16 years that I have been going there. That is definitely no reason not eat there though, as the food is stupendous!”

• The food is wonderful.
• Sometimes it is so busy, but when it is the Owners/staff make sure to walk around and check on you.

“Great food, large portions, I would never go to the "cookie cutter" restaurants that people wait in line for ever again, the food is fresh and cooked from scratch, all my friends and family say it is the best that they have ever tasted. Love it, love it love it!”

• Drinks, pool and smoking.
• Skimpy on posters and other decor but positive, lots of neon signs in their place.

“Enjoy a drink? A smoke or two? How about a couple rounds of pool? If yes to more than 2 of those questions you, yes you, should stop by this pool hall/bar. Miles away from Ft. Myers beach and right on US-41 (Tamiami trail) this place is easily accessible to everyone in Ft. Myers or at the most Naples. Have fun at the 8 ball lounge.”

• One of few seafood restaurants that have fresh local fish.
• Not easy to find in Sams plaza on Cleveland ave.

“Not the most elegantly viewed atmospherically but this is not important when you taste the great fish of all sorts cooked anyway you like it. Great steaks too.”

“Dined there twice as it was located in the hotel where I was staying. Service the first night was fair and the burger was ok. Second night I went for the special of "Buy one, Get one free" wings. Get your sports and beer at a Sports bar leaves the wings to Ker's or Hooters. (I'll be taking my own advice on that from here out!) The real heartburn started when the bill arrived. First was a bill for two orders of wings so I questioned it. Then came the corrected bill for a discount in the amount of a single order of wings, but now they had attached a gratuity of 34%! When I questioned this, I was told that the gratuity was for 19% of the total bill prior to any discount! The inattentive waiter said that was "to cover their butt on the discounted food"! I couldn't believe that one. Oh well, they won't get any more from me. There are too many places to do business with out there that are fair and up front about there policies. At the end of the day, it really didn't amount to that much, but there is the matter of principal and fair play.”

“On June 21st 2007 about 6:40 pm I stopped in the waffle house located at 9420 Daniels pkwy, fort Myers, fl all three employees were outside working on crossword puzzles. I walked inside was hoping to have t-bone stack and waffle dinner. The smell of the place was awful. On the counter bar was dirty dishes, the waffle cookers was real Nasty. I lost my appetite because of the Nasty odor in the place. I have traveled over 35 states in the past year and have stopped at over 1000 waffle houses in my travel and I must say the one at 9420 Daniels pkwy , fort Myers, fl is the most un clean Nasty smelling place I have visited ,one other in Virginia on interstate i-77 near the NC border was also very bad. If you could send all employees to the cities of Lumberton, NC, Asheville, NC, apache junction, as, Shallotte, NC for some training there would be no more Nasty smelling filthy waffle houses. The manager should be replaced and so should the employees. I will never go back there.”

• Consistency of the cooking--generally pretty good.
• Sometimes too heavy on salt.

“I eat here frequently. For a diner, the atmosphere, food quality, and service are fine. It is not a fancy place, but it is clean and friendly. There is a long table down the middle where people sit and invite others to join them. This is a fun place to grab a bite.”

• Friendly service fantastic food.
• There was nothing to dislike.

“We started with the corn chowder which was outstanding with a hint of Mexican spices yummy, as a main course we had one of the shrimp appetizers which was delicious and plentiful, the bread served with the oil dip was excellent, the dessert menu is not extensive but all desserts are fresh great tasting and made to order, the white zinfandel was a very nice wine, will come back again have dined here twice.”

• Wonderful food, cozy atmosphere, fabulous desserts, good wine list.
• Unpredictable service, but usually fair to good.

“This place was recommended to me and I am so grateful. It was delicious. I still crave the risotto. The sea bass was beautifully cooked with a light golden crust. The pizzas are great, too wonderful crusts. I quickly became addicted and every weekend I visited, I demanded we return. Their desserts are out of this world and all made in house. This is a chef owned restaurant who knows how to make excellent Italian food. Fresh ingredients. Looks are deceiving. Stuck in an odd little strip mall. However, step inside the oddly romantic and understated interior and experience quality and beautifully presented meals. I only discovered Bella Rosa through a local recommendation, never been more grateful. Breakfast inclusive of fresh bread and surprisingly playful side salad. The pizzas are great, too, wonderful crusts. I quickly became obsessed.”

• The food was great and the entertainment was fabulous.
• At hotel, the restaurant is chopped up into several rooms.

“Recently on our vacation to Fort Myers, we were drawn to the Wind Jammer Restaurant to see the fabulous duo Jackie V. and Joey Diamond. Not only was the entertainment exceptional but the food was plentiful, delicious and moderately priced. Our waitress Shawna was pleasant, courteous and helped to make our evening enjoyable. There was no cover charge for the entertainment and we will be on the look out when we return in the spring to catch the duo Wop Motown show of Jackie V. & Joey Diamond and enjoy another great evening! ”
