“I was visiting the area from Chicago, and back home we have really good (legendary, even world famous) pizza. I called the number from my hotel, and the call was answered quickly. I placed an order for delivery, which arrived sooner than I thought it would, and it was still nice and hot. A really cool thing about this place is that they deliver beer too, not something I am used to at home. The beers were double bagged, and there was ice to keep them nice and cold. I was impressed. The delivery guy was friendly and courteous, and even brought the order right to my room. This order is looking Aces! But, the pizza wasn't great. I ordered the medium (14 inch) pepperoni and sausage. The crust was thin, and wobbly browned well on the bottom, but doughy on top. Too much moisture in the toppings. The sauce (what little of it there was) had no flavor, the pepperoni had no flavor. It did have a nice texture though. But it was better than this singular dough boy pizza. Maybe it was an off night and if I tried them again I would be wowed,”

“Ordered seafood platter and gulf snapper. Platter came incomplete with Coleslaw missing. Server stated Coleslaw not on menu. (Not correct). Chef substituted another fish for ordered snapper and served with a sauce which was unappetizing. Server was not attentive to our table and neglected us for a larger group.”

• Food served in dining room and left on table before being served. Waitresses use bare hands to lift baked potato to individual dish.

“After enjoying a wonderful appetizer of calamari, my main entree of stuffed fillet of sole-to my surprise was stuffed with a rubber glove finger in my food! The waitress offered another dinner which I declined. I was highly disappointed that the manager never came to apologize and our 37th anniversary dinner was ruined. Not a place to return to.”

“Peter pan is the consummate diner. It offers a great variety of foods with some awesomely prepared. You can not beat their breakfasts. Their lunches/dinners vary from truly excellent (duck on a good day) to at least average (lamb varies from ok to very good). their meatloaf is pleasant as are most entrees (egg plant parm) and veggies. over all it's a very well run establishment and you can dine at this diner at amazingly low cost with high quality food prep.”

“I have a pallet for fine food and this restaurant was no where close. The food tasted like caned sauce and plan noodles that you can buy at the grocery store. The soup and garlic bread was not special either and the dessert tasted stale (they must of made it days ago). Nothing special at all. The atmosphere was loud not romantic (and a lot of children). Sorry mom's and dad's, but when I go out at 9:00 pm on a Friday night for a nice romantic dinner, I don't want to hear babies crying. I will never return to this restaurant. It is over priced garbage. If you want good Italian food, go to Cafe Vico's. They are also pricey, but they are worth it.”

• No bar, would of love to had a Gin and tonic, but we had wine.

“I had a great time the food, was excellent the service was very nice. I especially their salads and pizza they were made on the spot for us and it looked it. I am Italian and have a coffee shop in New York I am very particular about the food I eat and serve to my customer and this was great. I met Rosario and true Italian born in Sicili near Palermo. Were my parents are from. I would come back hear again and again. Great Job.”

• The food, the chef and his entertaining.

“I had dinner with some friends at Benihana on July 4, 2008. Our dinners were delicious and our chef was excellent. My choice for an entree was the Benihana Excellence, (Teriyaki Beef Julienne with green onions and shrimp). The restaurant was very clean and the personnel very professional. I currently live in Fort Lauderdale and would highly recommend this restaurant.”

• The price was ok and it was all you can eat.
• The quality of the food was on the same level as McDonalds (very cheap).

“I came here as a tourist from up north and read an ad in a Fort Lauderdale guide recommending this restaurant. I was disappointed by the neighborhood which looked like a hurricane hit it. The inside of the restaurant was even worse. It looked very old and dirty. The food was priced well, but the quality was definately reflected in the price.”

“The place is absolutely beautiful if only the food were to follow suit. The conch chowder was "conchless" and the crab cakes were like having bread cutlets. I was very disappointed as this place came highly recommended. Seems to me like we went at 6:30 PM and got a bread cutlet leftover instead of a real crab cake. If I could calculate correctly, maybe there were about 3 lumps in each bread cutlet.”

“My first 2 beers were flat, and there wasn't a third because they had run out of Heiniken. The waitress, who was useless, rude, and only able to speak a total of 3 words in English decided she was entitled to a $102.00 tip even though her service was shockingly bad. I decided to order the Seafood medley (Jewel of the Sea) for a main course, which was basically a stew, was terrible. The white fish, shrimp, crab, mussels and scallops all tasted the same without any distinction because the sauce was so over powering, the chef must have been heavy handed on the spices. The restaurant decor hasn't been update since the 70's, and the least they could do is remove the paper spit balls on the wall, probably shot there by a previous patrons child. If they had a zero on the rating scale they would have got that instead of the 1 I gave them.”

“I have been going to this bar for ten years. Yesterday the drunken manager kicked me out for ordering a shot with a chaser. He said that chasers aren't allowed. Nice manager they have there. I wont go back to that Nazi hangout.”

• Good service, trustworthy valet and waiters/waitresses those are mature.
• Possible waiting time, but has wonderful cocktail bar/ appetizers.

“Service is great from couteous valet attendants, great waiters/waitresses, and best of all the seafood and old florida atmosphere! Definetly worth a trip, it has a old Florida feel that is very comfortable. Enjoy the scenery and courteous employees. The restaurant is directly on the fort lauderdale beach and access to the beautiful sandy beaches is steppes away from the restaurant. I left 5 dollars on the center console of my car and it was still there when I picked up my car from valet. Very trustworthy people and makes you feel a sense of security knowing that good management are doing there job. I had a very small request for the manager and He fulfilled it immediately! enjoy this trip”

“I have run several big restaurants in NYC and I am absolutely appalled at the shoddy service, terrible management and mediocre food during our unfortunate visit to the upstairs dining room at this restaurant last weekend. The server misordered my girlfriend's fish (ok, mistakes happen), and it took them 35 minutes to bring her a new dish. Meanwhile, I'd asked to have my fish kept hot while she was waiting, never imagining that it would take so long to remake hers. Instead of bringing me a fresh piece of fish, they served me the same one I'd started, which, of course, was disgusting after 35 minutes under the lights. I'd started with crab legs, which were delicious, and were on the menu as an entree for $40.00 with a notation that they were also available as an appetizer. I never thought to ask about app. price; since the average appetizers cost about $10 - $15, I figure this one should be somewhere in the ballpark, certainly not more than $20.00. And, my girlfriend had asked them to substitute a vegetable for the rice, which the server said he'd try to do. Not only were we charged for the additional side, but were charged $33.00 for the appetizer. This was the last straw, after the wrong order, long wait, etc. Even our wine was NEVER poured for us after the first glass, even the few times the server did approach the table and our glasses were empty. We spoke with the arrogant, glorified host-manager and he condescendingly explained that the "appetizer" was the same size as the entree only without the side dish (which we ended up paying for anyway), and that yes, the server probably should have mentioned that this appetizer was three times the price of the others, but there was nothing he could do for us. No apology for any of the mistakes, just a bad attitude. We are New Yorkers, we are restaurant people, we never complain about prices and try not to judge service too harshly, but this place is a travesty. Avoid at all costs.”

“I had lunch there with a friend. Ordered 2 glasses of wine with lunch. Owner poured both glasses half full and when I finished the half glass I went to get the rest of my wine. He tells me it was hot so he had sent it to get it cold. Almost finished with lunch I ask him to just charge me for one glass of wine and I would just have some water. His comment to me was "No way, you were only a little short". I am in the service business and it is not the customers problem that you do not have cold wine that you sell. Under normal situations most all owners would have comp the wine due to the delay, especially after I had told him while waiting for my food that I own a hotel on the Beach and had ask him for menus to place in my guest guides in all the rooms. The lunch ended up costing me 40.00 and too me that was a totally rip off and I will never go there again. My friend had a sandwich, chips and I had a pie and 2 glasses of wine, that's all. The owner was counting his money when we arrived and made us wait for everything. Can not recommend and would not do so. Keep your menus!”

“Very nice people but the sandwiches were FAR from my expectations. I live in Ridley Twp. PA and thought I was ordering a "LaSpada's" Hoagie. This was not even close to my LaSpada's in Ridley. Nice try though. Are these people (owners) even from the DELCO, PA Area. I think they should take the trip to Delco and find out how to really make a Hoagie.”

“The Water Taxis advertised a 10% discount. The manager refused to honor it. For $5 goodwill the manager dismissed our party. I also had a 20% discount coupon with no expiration which was refused initially. Not a good place to go.”

I brought guests from out of town there on several occasions, but the last time was when we ordered lemonade, expecting good old fashioned lemons, but got drowned with rum and another liquor in it. They do not serve non-alcoholic lemonade.”

• You will greet and thank the clerk, not the other way around.

“This location consistently provides the worst service of any McDonalds I have ever been to, in the entire country. The crew is completely clueless as to what customer service is. Unfortunately this is not all that unusual for the poor work ethic of the local youth in South Florida. However, it is a shame, the management cannot direct their employees in a better manner. Speak with them, and you will see that they are just the same and obviously feel everything is just fine.”

• Owner, waiter, cook, (all staff had bad attitudes), small crimpy place, customers were unhappy, if you like being stared at while eating good place.

“Tonight, we went to this pizzeria, and the service, and staff attitude was horrible. It was a horrible experience. After we received our food, the first waiter, slapped his hands at his side, and stormed off (for some odd reason). The second waiter, who actually gave little service, did not bring us silverware for fifteen minutes after our food arrived. The food is not real Italian either! Florida people do not know real Italian, like New York people do. The sauce is canned sauce, and the dough is brought in from a factory. Real Italian food is cooked many days using fresh squeezed tomatoes, which is slowly stewed with fresh garlic and spices, for may hours.”

“I had never been there before, but stopped by to grab a menu. The hostess and owner greeted me with such pleasure I stayed for dinner, and drinks at the bar. I dont normally enjoying eating at a bar, but it was so comfortable, it felt as if you were eating at a table. The bartender was a real hoot! She was laughing, cracking jokes, and pouring me great drinks. It seemed as though she had her own little cheering section. As I got to know the patrons, they told me that all of them come here 2 4 times per week every week. Sadly I am not from the area, travel allot, and hate to go out to dinner alone, but that experience made it ok. I loved the food, it was incredible, and I look forward to going back when I am in town again.”

• The band.
• The whole set up of people walking in and out in front of the stage floor, and the open doors making to hear a nightmare.

“There are certainly better Irish pubs in the Fort Lauderdale area (The Field for instance), having said that, the band, and in particular Bob ODonovan is absolutely brilliant. The management of the pub shows him and his band no respect at all, we were there on a Saturday and there was a very loud, awful rock band playing just outside of the pub, making listening to the band a difficult experience to say the least as they refused to shut the doors. If your looking for a good night of traditional Irish folk music go to Sally OBriens on the weekend, if your looking for the whole Irish pub experience drive a couple miles further down 95 to Griffin, and head west.”

• A bit small restaurant needs more seats, gets packed at lunch etc.

“You must go to La Spadas (on sea grape drive in Lauderdale by the sea) for an "Italian special" sub sandwich. I grew up in fort Lauderdale and have been eating these since I was a kid. The place is a tiny little hole in the wall restaurant/deli but the food is to die for. If you like really, really good sub sandwiches, look no further. Over the years I have tried numerous items on their menu and have never been disappointed with any selection but I always come back to the ole "Italian special". You have a choice of what you dont want on it but I get everything (except salt) and absolutely love them. The cool thing about this place is that they will (dont laugh) ship their subs anywhere in the world you want them sent. I heard about this once and thought it was a joke but it's true. They cold pack it and leave the oil and vinegar off for shipment. The subs arrive, cold, fresh, and ready to eat. Trust me when I tell you, when in the area and hungry for a good sub go to La Spadas.”

“We found this jewel on a gray, rainy, cold day and the host was happy to dry off a glider for us. Because once I saw those seats, there was no where else to sit, even with a few drips. It was quiet and lovely; the staff was very attentive and fun; the food was fresh and excellent; and we were gliding on the beach! What more could we ask for? Highly recommended.”

• Owners and friendly, polite and enthusiastic.
• Romantic view of Davie blvd.

“The very definition of "hole in the wall". A converted gas station. The only "seating" is two decrepit picnic tables near the pickup window. Pete's is one of the oldest businesses on Davie with two generations of loyal fans. The pizza is awesome. The pasta is about as good as you'd get at a good sit-down Italian place for about half the price. Get a menu and order your food to be picked up.”

“Horrible service and menu not traditional Irish at all the only good thing is the Irish band on sat. Night had a problem with service the general manager did not even acknowledge the problem and did nothing to fix it. There are many other Irish restaurants that offer better food entertainment and service. ”

• Somewhat price, but not overpriced for the quality of food.

“Probably one of the top 3 restaurants in Ft Lauderdale. One added attraction - it isn't very hard to get into, even on the weekends.”

• Fresh food, very good prices, fast service.
• Gets very busy sometimes and is hard to find a parking.

“This is a place for fast food, but don't get me wrong is nothing like McDonalds. The food is real quality and they prepare everything in place - no pre-prepared food. The service is fast and the place is nice. I'm going there for lunch for last few months everyday and I don't plan to change it. The food is just really fresh as the Name of the place "fresco". They have very good burritos and quesadilla. My favorite thing there is service - kind of raw fish dish with salt and lemon - they make it great. My only complain is that they don't have it every day - just Friday and Saturday.”

“I was disappointed with the slow service I received. Also, the waiter mentioned the margarita was $6.50 and then said do you want the large one. He never said it was going to be $14 each. He saw that we didn't like the margaritas and didn't drink them. He never offered to exchange a different drink or anything to be accommodating. He just said that he noticed we didn't drink them without any further interest in making us enjoy the experience. There really was no personality or personal interest in the dining experience. I left there feeling that they really just needed the money and had no interest in their customers being happy with the service.”
