Alex Family Restaurant
Mar 29, 2009 by katz from lansing

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9
Food:[9] • Service:[8] • Atmosphere:[8]

  • The owners, the food, more family oriented, proximity to beach.
  • Old building, but they made the very best of it. Very clean.

“Family atmosphere. Mom and pop run. Best breakfast on the beach. Great costs - omelette's around $6. Not where I come from. Love The Twos - two of everything for breakfast for under $8. The owner is so charming - wildly funny Greek woman who loves to share her world travels and experiences. We love her and her restaurant.”

Tucsons
Apr 29, 2008 by Chris from McLean, VA

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10
Food:[10] • Service:[9] • Atmosphere:[9]

  • The Cuban sandwich, the buffalo wrap, the gunslinger flatbread.
  • None!

“I was on vacation in Clearwater, and I dined out at an outback the first night, and this place all the other times I ate out. Tucson's embodies what I love about eating out. The restaurant/dining area was large and well divided to minimize noise. The lighting was not too dark or too bright, and the music was low and pleasant. I loved the decorations; the southwest items/pictures/murals are pretty and well placed. The kids love this kind of thing, and the menu had items that they chose easily. Although the southwest classics were all there (Tacos, Enchiladas, etc.) there were also things like Cuban Sandwiches, Fish, and Filet Mignon (The best, by the way, that my grandfather has ever had.) Mostly the basic tastes were flavorful and simple, with side items, sauces, and garnishes that were complex to compliment (such as the tequila lime sauce). There are also creative menu items like the Gunfighter Flatbread and pasta dishes. The salsa is made in-house and the chips are fried in-house as well, which makes the time waiting for your food all the more enjoyable. Affordable, great service, great food, great ambiance.”

Sam Seltzer Steakhouse
Apr 18, 2008 by Ron from Windsor, NY

Overall Rating: 5 User Rating Score: 5
Food:[5] • Service:[8] • Atmosphere:[7]

  • Decor was nice. Service was good.
  • Over priced for quality of food.

“We arrived at the restaurant on a Tuesday night about 6 pm. We waited an hour before we were seated. We figured this must be a really good place but we were disappointed. We ordered the French onion soup and were not pleased. It was bland and they used garlic croutons instead of pumpernickel bread. My wife's steak was over cooked so she had to send it back. It did come back correct and she said it was good. Of course I was already done with my dinner. We felt the steaks were ordinary and over priced.”

Bellini's G Brick Oven & Rotisserie
Mar 2, 2008 by Joseph from Clearwater

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8
Food:[8] • Service:[8] • Atmosphere:[6]

  • Good food and good service.
  • Can be loud in the restaurant on Friday and Saturday night.

“This restaurant has changed names 2 more times. It was G Bellini's. It was Bracci. Now it is Ponte's Tuscan Grill. The food is better since Bracci days. The service was good. We had a representative waiting on us and she was knowledgeable about the menu and very professional. It is more of a Tuscan restaurant offering grilled items, pasta, pizza and specialty items. We ordered the Antipasto. The appetizer was served on a wooden cutting board and had a variety of meats, cheese, olives, grilled eggplant, etc. It was very good. The sea bass was awesome. We also liked the Lamb with the Barolo sauce. We looked at the dessert list. It had some interesting items. We were too full to get dessert and next time, we will save room. Reservations were recommended for Friday and Saturday night.”

Post Corner Pizza
Feb 1, 2008 by Ida from Clearwater Beach, FL

Overall Rating: 4 User Rating Score: 4
Food:[3] • Service:[6] • Atmosphere:[6]

  • Great location and fast service, pizza was hot.
  • Terrible crust and too greasy and bland taste.

“Such a disappointment after reading great reviews on several sites over a period of many years, even one that compared it to the best pizza in the world. The crust was a bland type of greasy soft bread. The tomato sauce and cheese were not terrible but certainly lacked any of the wonderful flavors of great pizza. We weren't actually expecting pizza comparable to the world's best but at least worthy of the good reviews. Please whoever is their pizza cook, please; learn to make a pizza well so we can enjoy your friendly service and great location again. We're not looking for perfection or even excellence - just great pizza.”

IHOP
Jul 5, 2007 by Kim from Orlando

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8
Food:[9] • Service:[7] • Atmosphere:[7]

  • Food was good value for money.
  • Terrible wait. No parking due to popularity of location.

“Loud, noisy, busy. Outdoor seating available. Hard to get seated. I'm one person who stayed at the linking hotel and it took me 45 minutes for a seat. Casual, slow, and under-staffed. Popular spot due to location. People will skip the line when others have given up and left. Don't depend on them to find you and seat you.”

  • Nothing negative, everything was awesome!

“I have never written a review on any web site for anything, but felt obligated to praise "crabby bills". The best food and service I have ever had anywhere. Go and enjoy the ice cold beer and the grouper sandwich. I thought the sandwich was better than franchise! Cheers!”

Britts Laguna Grill
Aug 14, 2006 by Stephanie

Overall Rating: 4 User Rating Score: 4
Food:[7] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[5]

  • Food is alright.
  • Only plan on stopping in if you have PLENTY of time to waste.

“The food wasn't bad, but the service was absolutely horrible. My boyfriend and I went there twice, the first time, it took a good amount of time to receive our food & drinks but overall it wasn't that bad until we received out ticket and it already had gratuity taken out. This isn't all that big of a deal, because we usually tip really well, but we aren't too keen on the gratuity thing. Well, we assumed that maybe the restaurant automatically took that out, so we gave her a bigger bill than what our ticket price was & then she didn't even offer to give our change back, she actually asked to keep it. The second time we went to eat at the same place, the service was incredibly slow. We waited no telling how long to receive our food, then after our plates were finally cleared, our server walked back and forth past us numerous times while we waited for our ticket. I even asked her if we could have it... and we still had to wait 45 minutes to receive it. Not to mention that the gratuity wasn't taken out this time so apparently the girl from a few days before just didn't expect we'd tip much & took it upon herself to take a few of our dollars & then 'ask' for more...”
