“Beautiful restaurant, food is good for the price, service leaves a lot to be desired. Server gave me a hard time because I didn't finish all of my food. I didn't deserve the snide, nasty comments or the way my plate was carried away in a huff. The server's nastiness is enough, unfortunately, to keep me away in the future. There are plenty of other places to eat at.”

• The restroom was clean.
• Food and service were very below par. Regular priced menu was very high especially in light of quality and service.

“They have an unannounced early special which promised to be a good value of $19.95 for a 2 lb. lobster. The lobster was undercooked and served split but very messy to deal with. The salad was inedible. The coffee was bitter and undrinkable. Even the water was undrinkable! The server was the worst ever. The bread was stale. For example, when asked (not offered) she brought ice water with lemon although we specified no lemon. Then she proceeded to remove the lemon with her fingers! The bread she brought was stale. The salad, although we asked for dressing on the side, was brought with dressing mixed in it. We knew about the lobster special otherwise she did not offer it to us. Her behavior was smirky and inattentive. The manager was worse. All I can say is stay far away.”

“I had a great time sat at the bar. Bartender was great and refilled our drinks all the time. Had appetizers and it was great. The place is great if you want to stay local and not drive far. Apparently what needs to be changed after reading the reviews is management. It's basically a hit or miss but our bartender was awesome!”

• Chef must be on vacation, too many restaurants to go back there.

“After enjoying two scotches at $10.50 each we were seated and perused the menu. I ordered a mussels appetizer. Whoops. None left on a Saturday evening. I can't describe what they replaced it with Entrée? Fruita da mar. (linguine with shrimp (1), mussels (2) linguine? Believe me, it was spaghetti or cappellini looked like it was fried in a pan. What happened to the other ingredients?”

• Our waitress was very pleasant. We were a party of 8. All our orders were perfect.
• Manager not nice. Food could have been better for the price.

“The Manager was not helpful and was rude. Smoking in the restaurant (at the bar) made the entire restaurant smell of smoke. I have never been to a restaurant whereby a 3 for 1 was not allowed to be shared. This is not advertised that way and it encourages a customer to drink too much. $8.00 for a glass of wine is excessive when not shared. The food was only so-so. The special salmon was $24.95 expensive for salmon. The lobster was a buy but not of good quality.”

“I frequented this place for years. Then out of the blue the owner started her rule of not sitting one person in a booth. I have no problem with rules. But rarely does this hold. Only when she was there. She offered me a small table crunched in between two large parties. This used to be a place where one could stay and linger and have a cup of coffee and relax. An old style local place with great waitresses and a crackerjack short order cook. I would go at least twice a week and maybe three due to the rude, unprofessional way she has treated me. A long time good customer, I will never step foot in that place again. Fill your booths with a party of four that comes in once a month and see if that was a wise business move.”

“The food was definitely substandard. To take our drink order, we had to bus our own tables 3 different times & when we complained about the food or the idea of busing our own tables, we were told she's not the cook or the bus boy. We asked to speak with the manager, what a character he is he could care less. I went to talk to him he seemed very annoyed he came over & examined the food & with hesitation took it back, & explained about the service he did not even apologize & said if we weren't happy don't come back. The lobsters that they advertised 2 lbs are not more than 1-1/4. I can assure you and are definitely substandard even the table next to us asked if we could bus their table & complained about the food & service. I must say the entire staff seemed very shady. Oh, and also please make sure you double check your bill very carefully, because they will over charge you.”

“This was the worst experience I have ever had. We had to wait 2 hours for our food. Also, the lobster was no way 2 lbs. Maybe 1-1/4 lbs and was very dry we wanted to send it back they refused, one person in our party never even received his food. Soup was burnt how do you burn soup. The waitress was so unfriendly & rude. The bus boy was threatening to my son, my daughter ordered Chicken Quesadillas they gave her Sliced Chicken on a plate. He would not supply the owners information. Then the manager proceeded to get the bouncer to embarrassed our entire party. The manager was asked to come to our table 3 times needless to say he never showed until we were leaving. The manager has no idea of what customer service is. They will never see us again. Plus I will tell everyone I know never to go there. I have been in customer service for over 40 years I have never been treated so poorly & I will let everyone I know not to go there. The table that was next to us also agreed.”

“Lobsters were close to two lbs. as stated. Happy hour 3 for 1 a good deal no sharing of drinks. Service was excellent (Thanks Ashley and the bus). Chill out and enjoy yourself, don't be obnoxious. I did not have any steaks, but the Lobster was hot and not over-steamed.”

“We live in Boca and have eaten at many high quality restaurants and Lilly's is not one of them. The management do not care if their patrons are happy. The food is even worse. We ordered the butternut ravioli which the waitress described as heaven. It was drowned in sauce and way undercooked. The chicken & mushroom risotto had chunks of raw risotto in it and was way too salty! The salad tasted like it was washed in dish water. We waited over an hour for our meal, the waitress never came by to give an explanation or see if we needed anything. When we expressed frustration, the waitress became very rude. When we asked to see the manager, he was too busy to see us! We will never be back. There are way too many great restaurants in Boca for this place to be in business. Try Trattoria Romano instead.”

“The food was substandard. Two pound lobsters were, but in actuality they were more like 1 1/4 lb. Also they were lukewarm, obviously precooked, and not particularly tender. The steak had a funny taste (reported by 2 in our party) and was tough. Manager was rude and said I can't do anything about the taste and walked away from our table and my lovely 88 year old aunt who was speaking to him. This meal was not up to par and certainly not worth the cost.”

“The lobsters were in no way 2 lb. The were 1 1/4 lb at best. They were cold and it was clear that they were precooked. The baked potato was warm, not hot. The soup was lukewarm. The strip steak that too in our party ordered were inedible. One was tender and had a funny taste. The other was tough, grisly and had a funny taste. All at the table that tasted the meat agreed. The manager was called. My aunt explained that her steak was tender but tasteless and he said, I can't do anything about the taste, and was quite rude to an 88 year old gentle woman. He did not offer her another entree but simply walked away. When the gentleman in our group mentioned his steak was tough and tasteless, he was offered another entree. He chose salmon which was dry and also left uneaten. The table next to us had a similar experience. A gentleman at that table had sent his chicken pram back three times and said it was horrible. The manager was likewise rude to him and another woman at the table. On a positive note, our server was wonderful. He was efficient and apologetic. None of these bad experiences could be attributed to him. In summary, we will never return to this establishment. Their manager is rude, insensitive and knows nothing of customer service.”

• If I want to be treated like trash I'll go to the actual Boca raton dump.

“Used to go there often until one night we were treated very shabbily by the waiter and manager. Too many problems to go into detail but I am a firm believer in treating people the way I want to be treated and this joint failed miserably on that count. It's been a few years since that last fiasco so I thought I'd give it another try to see if things had gotten any better.”

• The onion soup is by far the best and cheesiest I've ever tasted anywhere.
• Not enough people seem to know about this place - deserves to be busier.

“This pretty restaurant is delightfully located and takes advantage of the scenery by having a lovely, outside, patio-style area. The surroundings are quiet and peaceful and the atmosphere inside is equally pleasant. The chef, who is also the owner, is a superb cook! The menu covers most tastes and is on the Mediterranean side. The salmon is especially delicious but my all time. Favorite is definitely the onion soup, which is to die for. There's a thick crust on top of succulent, melted cheese; totally awesome soup! On some occasions, they have live entertainment which is never too overbearing - just adds a nice addition to the friendly/romantic vibe of the place. The restaurant is as far west as you can go on Camino Real, right at Jog.”

“One of the worst nights our party ever had. We all ordered the 2 lb lobsters. They were maybe 1 1/4lb & that was the biggest one in our group. The baked potato was not cooked & was cold. The veggies were not done & cold. The lobsters were cooked but cold. The manager was without a doubt the most nasty sarcastic man we ever met. He was more concerned to hit on girls at the bar, drink & smoke rather than make the patrons happy. He told us if we were not happy never come back. He was lucky I am a gentleman. There was a Christmas party the night we were there. We were the only table at the moment in the back where the party was. The door was open & was a cold night. We asked George if he would be so kind as to move us to the main dining room. He was rude & would not move our party. Ten minutes later another party came in was seated next to us, they complained & he moved them right away. Ten minutes later another party came in was seated in the back. Yes you guessed it they complained & were moved to the main dining room. In closing we overheard the parties complaining about the same problems we occurred. I have no clue if he did anything for them.”

“This was literally the worst food I have ever eaten. Its a great place for drinks and to watch a game but don't order food. I sat for 4 hours to watch a game and I ordered five different things in an attempt to get something edible. I finally gave up after the buffalo explosion, made me ill. Even the French fries were mildly terrible. And the service was awful. Trying to get a refill on a coke or water was impossible. Not to mention that they made no attempt to apologize or compensate me for the inedible food that their kitchen was producing. A cool night club, and a great atmosphere, but their free drinks on ladies night contain the least amount of liquor possible in order to call them alcoholic beverages.”

“Porterhouse Bar & Grill Club. You're either a bar & grill or you're a club. I've never been to a bar & grill with a dress code. I was pretty let down in the end. There's no doubt that this is a nice place to have an ok meal and maybe a few good drinks. However, if you're looking to have some after hours fun then I would highly recommend that you head down to the beach and find a club near the water instead. The place was designed as a bar & grill but they've turned it into a want to be dance club. Yeah there's dancing and people really got into it but just to move around the bar, or to go outside, you have to walk right through the middle of the dance floor. Don't bother bringing your drink with you because you're not allowed to order at the bar and then walk around unless you start another tab with the server in that area (the bouncers make sure of that). Speaking of bouncers they try too hard to impress the manager. They love to show you who's in charge and probably have a bad case of little you know what syndrome. We were a group of 7 going out for my birthday and the bouncer is telling us that we're too loud (we were on the patio, in the corner, minding our own business. And if we were loud it was just because the music was loud, game a break). Our server in the end was really nice, if not lazy and didn't forget anything. Her problem was just that she was so pushy with the drinks. I like to drink my drinks not chug them. Apparently this place is under new management and I suppose that they're still working the kinks out. I can tell that the management wants to make you happy and give you all deserving services of a good night out. I just can't get over the fact their staff made us all feel unwanted. We're all easy going, don't ask for much and just want to have a slightly warm atmosphere to hang out in. I can't explain everything, but I'll simply have you know that I don't ever plan to go back there upon my own free will.”

“Stopped in with friends for a drink about 1 am Sat. eve. Couldn't take the smoke due to health reasons, went out front for fresh air, walked to outside seating, wasn't permitted to enter unless walking through smoky bar to outside seating. Stated that we were already patrons inside, friends that we came with were at bar. Asked to speak to manager. Manager rude, indignant, I got indignant and told to leave. Would not give reason for not letting us enter outside seating from outside. Will never return and thinking about contacting news.”

“I have been going there for years. Disappointed, only once, with the service. Having been in the industry over 30 years, I can tell you what's good and what's not. The Porterhouse is all around excellent. On any occasion that calls for assistance, we have been treated like royalty. Fine, fine dining without the price & snootiness. “I love this place. The gentlemen making the Sushi rolls are wonderful and fun to talk to! They treat you with respect when you ask questions, and make fun little salads and desserts! I have never gotten anything there I did not like, and they are very open to special requests when you want to replace a certain fish with another on rainbow rolls and such! I will go there until it is not there anymore, or until I move from this area! God Job Guys!”

• All you can eat is not worth it unless you love rice.

“Went to Taisho last night and told the owner/manager that we had left the coupon at home and would he honor the $1 off. Well, three of the four of us went for the all you can eat Sushi and the fourth ordered off the menu. We all felt the same the all you can eat Sushi is much more loaded with rice than the off the menu items. And you can't leave anything over or you get charged for it (and they do charge you, even if you leave over so much as rice from underneath the fish). The quality of the fish was good, not great. Don't waste your time on the shrimp tempura as they're the tiny little 1" shrimps and have no taste. It was disappointing on the whole. None of the waiters/service people speak English (they're all Mexican) so anything you want, you have to use sign language (point to your glass for more water or lift up the ginger dish for more ginger). For $16.99 or $17.99 for all you can eat, be sure you're in the mood for a lot of filler rice, because that's what you're getting. There are so many great Sushi restaurants around, but if you do go to this one, I'd order off the regular menu rather than having this rip off all you can eat rice special. This is the second time we ate here (we always give a restaurant another chance just in case it's a bad night) and each time we've had the same experience with the food. The bathrooms and entrance to the bathrooms are really gross and filthy.”

“We were there on a Friday night with another couple. The other couple requested a server that they had the previous month. He started out very well and then totally fizzled out to nothing. We could not get refills, dirty dishes sat on our table through the entire meal and the food got cold while we were waiting for condiments. The server kept saying that he would be right there and he would stand at the bar, look over at us and talk to the bartender. When we complained to him, he said he was busy. The table next to us was complaining about the same things and complaining to the manager. The server said that he was buying dessert. When I finally complained to the manager, the server brought the wrong condiments to the table and our baked potatoes were cold. Fifteen minutes later, he brought new potatoes, so we had them for dessert since everyone had finished the rest of their meal. Finally the manager came over, still unable to provide us with the owner's name or phone number. Another server threw four pieces of cheesecake on the table and said that the manager was buying dessert. It was left untouched. The server publicly screamed at me because I finally gathered up the dirty dishes and placed them on another table. He told me that he didn't appreciate what I was doing because they had a busboy to do that. He attracted the attention of the whole restaurant and I was humiliated. I have thirty two years in management in the restaurant industry and this was the worst experience I have ever had in a restaurant. I don't care what they serve and how good it is; any manager and owner who will allow his employees and manager to address and treat customers like that dont need my business.”

“Our first time here. Food was good. We had lobster (2 lbs) but it was not 2 lbs., more like 1 1/2 lbs. We eat lots of lobster in New England and know the difference between 1 1/2 and 2 lbs. However they were very good so we did not really care. Our server was very nice and attentive. We would go back for sure.”

• Rude staff and over-charges on bill.

“We are locals that wanted to spend sometime at a good place not too far away from home. Big mistake! We were treated rudely by the manager and his staff for the simple reason of wearing a hat. This young punk without even asking me knocked my hat off my head. Soon we were being escorted out of the place while the manager had his little temper show. But that's not the best of it. Today (the next day) we found out that they charged us an excess of 300 dollars on our credit card. We have two receipts less than 45 dollars total. We called to dispute the charges and spoke to another manager and were told that they couldn't do anything about it. We should have known from the start being that there was another person sitting next to us complaining about her bill too. What is up with these people charging extra on bills? Perhaps they think that out of so many people some might not even notice they are being ripped off. We certainly plan on disputing the charges with the credit card company and submitting a complain with the better business bureau.”

• Lovely décor.
• Terrible service, spoiled sushi.

“My husband and I love sushi, so we were thrilled to find Sushi Yama so near our home. Unfortunately, each time we went we had rude waitresses or less than fantastic sushi. The last time I went, I noticed that a piece of fish had an iridescent purple color and I left it aside. I had already eaten most of my meal so I was a bit worried. A few hours later after we had gotten home, I was sick to my stomach. I threw up all night and felt terrible for 24 hours. This was my first case of food poisoning. Needless to say, I have vowed never to step foot in Sushi Yama again. I thought that this was an isolated incident, but a colleague of mine just told me that she had food poisoning after eating sushi. You know I had to ask where she had eaten. And, yes, it was Sushi Yama. So, a word to the wise is sufficient be careful!”

• Roaches and horrible service.

“Horrible. We arrived at 7:50 for an 8pm reservation. The woman hostess promised us countless times "you're next, you're next" then kept giving away the next open table to other parties who arrived after us. Some of whom did not even have a reservation. While waiting for our table at the bar, we saw a huge cockroach crawling on the back of a woman while she sat at a table eating. She did not notice, but a waiter did and knocked it off with a menu. A few minutes later, it was back and crawling on the woman's friend. It was already 9pm, an hour after our reservation, and we still were not being seated. We decided it was time to go. Of course, on the way out the hostess told us, "but you're next, you're next!" We told her about the roach and she said it was probably just because the door was open. Disgusting, dirty, and horrible service. Don't go. Ever.”

“I live 4 blocks from this restaurant but had never gone into it although it always looked so quaint and inviting. I finally had the opportunity to dine here this week. I am still in awe over how I had never heard of this place! The food was amazing - all freshly prepared (they even make their own pasta!), made-to-order (my dish came with a parmesan cream sauce, but they offered to make it for me with a pink sauce) perfectly seasoned and well-displayed. The atmosphere was wonderful - like sitting in a big Italian family dining room. I went with my grandmother and aunt who are very particular and do not hesitate to complain if something is not to their liking, and the only complaint they had was that the glasses sweat too much on the beautiful dark wood tables. As we left, I grabbed a take-out order and plan to eat here again and again!”

• Liked everything. Have a great priced fixed dinner menu.

“My wife and I have been to Lynda Bs of Boca on numerous occasions. For birthday, anniversary and special affairs. This is a very friendly place and a delight to be at. Linda is a great person. The food is great. The best split pea east of Solvang. All of the entrees are so tasty. Save room for the dessert. Excellent service.”

• Louder than a rock concert, lousy food, and poor service.

“Without question the worst restaurant we have been to in south Florida. The service was absolutely deplorable. We arrived on time for our 8pm birthday reservation. The waiter did not come out and take our order until 8:30. Drinks did not arrive until 9pm. Most disturbingly no food arrived until 9:30pm, and then it was only stale bread and no butter even. Keep in mind this was an hour and a half after we arrived.”
