• The wine list was fair.
• The food quality and presentation.

“Since arriving in Naples, 6 months ago, we have had exceptional dining experiences in Naples fine restaurants. Unfortunately, not so at Bice last evening. We were a table of 6 and out of 6 meals, 4 were extremely disappointing. My skewered shrimp (4) were presented with the little black eyes looking back at me, they were soft, dry and extremely small. The entree was served with uncooked spinach and sliced tomatoes only. I also ordered a spinach salad as an appetizer not knowing this fact. An experienced, caring waiter would have pointed this out. The veal meals were very tough and sent back. The fish presentation was very unappealing and again was very disappointing - served fish only - no sides at all. The pasta was the best choice. It wasn't our table of 6 only as a table of 12 sent back a good number of their meals and they too expressed their disappointment with the restaurant. When the manager was approached he was very defensive. I have enjoyed wonderful meals in Bice in Montreal and New York but certainly not Naples. The prices reflected 4 Star dining and in my opinion we received 2 Star quality at best. Incidentally, the restaurant offered absolutely no compensation - not that it would have mattered but it would have been a gesture of good faith. In my business I am responsible for food & beverage for large and small groups in Canada, the USA, Europe, Mexico and throughout the Caribbean and am very knowledgeable about food quality and service. Unfortunately, I will not visit any of the other Bice restaurants given this very disappointing experience with Bice Naples.”

• The broiled fish was excellent.
• The service was terrible.

“In all my years I have never had poorer service. Our server was downright nasty, but we were treated poorly by three individuals. When I simply asked for a fork when the salad same, the person barked (and I do mean barked!), didn't you get one in your napkin? The waitress hurried off with drink orders before we could get out that we wanted some appetizers. Stopped the next guy going by who informed us, I only do drinks. Stuff like that went on all night until it became almost comical. She forgot the order for one in our party, so his meal arrived when the rest of us were almost finished. The fish was excellent, but veggies were very overcooked. The big wedge of lettuce with dressing was served on a small plate, making it difficult to eat without creating a mess. I was at this place several years ago on my last visit to Naples, and had a good experience. So I recommended this restaurant to our friends. I must say that I was embarrassed Won't go again.”

“I have lived in Naples for 3 years and have tried most of the seafood restaurants. After eating at Steamers there really is no other place that you need to go. The food was very fresh and very tasty. Had a lazy mans lobster dinner which was a whole lobster that they take out of the shell for you, it comes with grilled asparagus and zucchini and salad all for $23.00. The waitresses are the friendliest I have ever seen. This is a must eat dinner.”

• How smoothly things are run.
• Noise: we don't mind but if it bothers you, don't go.

“At Alice's the food is extremely consistent and delicious. The locals eat there and the restaurant does very little advertising it does not need to! At off meal hours it is relatively quiet. At mealtimes it is noisy but pleasant. The wait staff have a marvelous system: when meals are ready someone will bring them to your table even if your waitperson is otherwise busy. The atmosphere is funky and fun. It is a place where the patrons chat it up with each other while waiting for a table.”

• Food presentation (lack of color and texture).

“When I was five years old, my grandmother taught me the importance of color and presentation of food. I am not a steak lover, so I chose the tilapia. It was served on your plate with absolutely nothing else. I had to request a lemon wedge, but it should have been on the plate along with a bit of green and, perhaps, a sauce. The "German" potatoes were also colorless. How about a little paprika? All in all, my experience was not positive.”

“Restaurant is extremely loud; people have to shout to hear each other. Food is poor to average. One diner with me took two bites of her entree and declared it inedible. When the "manager" cleared the table he asked if she liked her meal. Duh, the plate looked and was untouched! We skipped coffee and desert to exit this place quickly, but were told the manager was giving us a Tiramisu and Lemoncellos. We sampled the Tiramisu and the Lemoncellos and politely asked for the check! To my surprise, they charged me for the Tiramisu!”

• Entire experience. Don't order lobster wait till you go to me.

“My wife and I had no reservations and were seated fairly quickly outdoors on what the hostess referred to as beach or patio? Only a few feet apart we chose the "beach". The atmosphere was unbelievable as you are seated very close to the water. However, as we waited, and looked closely at our table, it was disgusting, felt like we were at the Chikee bar we use to frequent for lunch not dinner. Our table covered with scratches and deep ground filth was only enhanced by our chairs and torn umbrella that was pushed up on its poles. I heard reference to 16 whether that was a table number, a station number, or server, either way you are doomed. Our server approached the table and he was very pleasant, offered us a bottle of water and we opted for Naples finest. The server we had again was very pleasant but this was one of his many frustrating moments through out our visit which was visible. He appeared to have tables inside the restaurant as well as a couple of us outdoors which did become a problem. I noticed this as they too looked around for him. Again he was wonderful but his circumstances were not. We finally had, after good 10 minutes smelly, big, very big, older gentlemen water our table and though his grammar not with a table presence, basically wished us a very nice dining experience. Our waiter then returned visibly distracted, again very sweet and pleasant but obviously too much on his plate went to take our order; we asked if there were any specials and he truly apologized thinking he gave them to us. So, my wife ordered the signature dish with triple tail, and I ordered the lobster tail. Her food was cold, plate red hot and my lobster tail was tough and dried out. Imagine her plate a 30 something and mine a 60 something and neither was what we were told it would be. Upon the sweaty return of our poor waiter which was sweat of running and probably wearing black all over not so much the heat was made aware of our problems. He said he would be back after we requested a manager. A manager came out with waiter and close to our table seemed to be scolding and gritting his teeth at the poor server, visibly there was bad feelings between our server and the manager. 5 minutes or as later as we were almost laughing about it, this person in a black suit, still wearing sunglasses long after the sun went down, came to our table, said he was the "New GM" after our grievances said he would take our meals off bill and apologized. He looked like something out of the terminator. Stated he just got here and was here to "fix" these kinds of problems they have been having. Got our bill and were charged for everything including the complimentary dessert we were given. The server's gratuity did not suffer as his anxiety and frustrations were rightfully had. This probably is the most over rated restaurant I have ever dined in and never will be back. I was referred from a local hotel concierge and the server she wanted us to dine with, she was off. Our server, he was very good with the mess he has to deal with. Hope he sees this and knows he would do excellent somewhere else. Shame on Turtle Club and lose the loser in the black suit.”

• I did not like having the machine that places the orders right next to our table.

“Food, ambience and service were excellent. We arrived with a two year old child that was sleeping. The management immediately assisted us by placing two chairs together so that she could continue to sleep. We ordered the veal, cordon bleu and the lobster special. Everything was delicious. Last, but not least, desert was excellent (tartufo).”

“This was the worst restaurant experience I¿ve ever had. Our food was mediocre, and the service was beyond poor. Our server accidentally spilled margaritas on two of the diners -- which happen. The drink completely ruined a purse and the contents in the purse. The outrageous thing was that a manager never stopped by our table to apologize -- and when we requested to see the manager, and explained the situation, we were told that the waitress said we knocked the drinks off of her tray. I've been a server, so I understand that sometimes accidents happen. I never once blamed a customer for my mistake, and always asked the manager to at least stop by a table if something serious had occurred. Unbelievable!”

“More aptly named ' Try a Miss ' Originally from NY? Maybe they came south because they couldn't compete with the big boys. It's not a terrible restaurant, it's just not that good. There is a ' sweetness' element that starts with the olives, appetizers, through the entries. It's just a little atypical. One of our entries and a neighboring tables was underdone. So if you decide to go, order the oneness 1 level higher than you would normally. Salmon entry OK, entry was doughy. Desserts were just average. Wine list very pricey for this level of dining. gregarious owner introduced himself at our table, made subsequent visits, but didn't say good-bye (was drinking wine at another table). lots of oddities here.”

• Hated the margarita glass!

“One of the best place's I have ever eaten or worked. After 18 years in the restaurant business I can tell you these fine gentleman have absolutely have it down to a science. The Malo brothers strive for excellence and have definitely achieved. As a former employee and diner I was never so impressed. One of the things that made my job so easy was the perfection of the food. Taking pride in my job there is nothing more gratifying than never having to take a plate back because it was not good or correct. My apron is off to the chef's, the owner's and unique staff that makes The Watermark Grille what it is. They are loved and missed dearly. ”

“This was a big disappointment. The hostess hardly even acknowledged us even after my husband told her it was my birthday. She seated us at one of the worst tables in the restaurant and walked away while we were talking. I guess this should have been our first clue. Although this is a waterfront restaurant our view was someone hosing down the back of a warehouse. Being this is a predominantly seafood restaurant we ordered accordingly. My husband's food was ice cold and undercooked and even after the server brought it back it was still cold. The food itself was terrible the only taste being a pseudo charcoal flavor. The only thing that was any good at all was the bread which isn't saying much. The fact also that the staff did not even care made it all the worse. Please do not waste your time or money on this establishment.”

• Quaint, charming, picturesque, scrumptious little tea room.
• Younger men may have to be dragged, or it's the perfect place if you have to make up with your girlfriend/fiance/wife!

“While walking along the posh 5th avenue, you find this quaint side trail to lead up to Brambles, nestled in quietly to the backside of one of the shops. Brambles is a charming tea room to sit and have a warmhearted chat with friends as the world turns. Please don't miss out on trying the 'Blue Lady', it's my personal favorite. ”

“we stayed at the hotel and ate at the restaurant one time for supper. The food was great and it was very busy inside and on the beach. We met some nice people from Chicago and the service was very good. It is considered the place to eat while in the napless area and we will go back. I recommend having lunch on the beach .”

“The food was so good but the manager was very rude and left such a terrible impression that we will never go back. A party of ten, all couples, asked for the check to be separated and the manger refused. He was extremely hostile and yelled at our party. I don't know what his problem was but it ruined our evening to be treated so badly. The restaurant had a large party in one half of the dining room while we ate---they had a guest speaker and made award presentations. We could hear their whole program though tout our dinner but we did not complain. We couldn't even go to the restroom without walking past their podium---it was very awkward. Then to be treated with such disrespect was just too much--it wasn't the waiters, they were wonderful--it was the manager.”

• Excellent atmosphere, super waiter and bartender, tasty food, and reasonable price.
• A little slow on the food delivery and we waited an hour for a table, although we did not have prior reservations.

“The weather was fantastic, the table located at the foot of the beach gave a breath-taking view of the sunset over the Gulf, the food was well-prepared, drinks and bartender were super, the valet parking was quick, and the waiter (Mike) was friendly and eager to please. It was a relaxing, pleasant dining experience for the family in our preparation for our daughter's wedding later in the week on the beach. Thank you Turtle Club!”

• The Nut crusted Brie was good.
• Enters lacked flavor.

“The entrees had no flavor what so ever, a dish that was supposed to be apple cider brine marinated for 24 hours had no flavor besides the breading that was coating the meat. It was tough and dry as well. The vegetables completely lacked flavor and the rice has a wax like texture. ”

“The Turtle club has a near-monopoly on beach front dining in Naples (due to the value of the adjacent land as condos). We visited the Turtle Club on the recommendation of the concierge at the Ritz Carlton and we were looking forward to it. Unfortunately, our expectations were way too high. After a brief wait at the bar (the highlight of our visit), we were seated on a nice beach table. Two waiters came by after 20 minutes and informed us that they were on "rotation", whatever that means. Eventually, we ordered the lobster, the lamb special and a crab cake starter. Our salads arrived, pretty limp, and then we did not see our waiter again for 40 minutes. We were not offered a wine list. Nobody checked if we wanted a drink. After eventually locating our waiter, a server delivered (rather crashed) our now cold crab cake from 5 inches in the air. Not usually the complaining type, we asked to see a manager (Frank), who could not have cared less. This place is super-busy and booked out weeks in advance because of it's tremendous setting, but that is really all it has. Hope the Turtle Club gets some non-hotel beach front competition soon. A decent restaurant would really suit Naples.”

“I like yabbas it has a real tropical vacation feeling the food is really well prepared but not giant portions only what you need. I had the jerk chicken it was really nice. Scotch bonnet corn bread is really nice but I thought it would be hotter it was really very mild. They have really nice tropical cocktails too!”

“The service was just horrific. Our waiter was arrogant, condescending, and insulting. We waited over an hour for our entrees. We asked to speak to the manager, but he refused to come to our table. The food, after all that, was mediocre. I would admit that the restaurant had a lively atmosphere, but the service was so bad and so hateful that it spoiled our evening, and we would not return under any circumstances.”
