• Great food, great prices, awesome service.
• Parking, then again. Its always like that in South Beach.

“My now husband and I love this place. This is where he proposed to me at! The waiter was so nice and was even in on surprise. He let all the other waiters know and those waiters told their tables so the entire restaurant was aware that my fiancé was going to propose to me and everyone clapped and joined in on the excitement! The food was great and the prices as well. The atmosphere is so "Miami" if thats what you're looking for with the live entertainment. Its over all an amazing place to be.”

“The food was good, but there was a big problem. The service for one was horrible; they pretty much just tossed the plates to your table. The waiting time! The waiting time for the sushi was like 30 minutes, just horrible. There was this one time were we had to wait like an hour for just 4 plates of sushi. The environment was not that good though because there was like an echo in the room so it sounded like there were 100 people instead of 20.”

• Most menu items and specials were extremely delicious.
• If something is wrong with your meal; i.e. overcooked pasta or chicken, they will say you are wrong.

“The food is quite delicious, especially the chicken gorgonzola, however, one of the brothers, who is also one of the owners, tends to be a bit "bi-polar" and can be rude and snippy. Our family used to frequent the restaurant on a regular basis, but his bad attitude just got to be too much and we stopped going, even though we do miss the delicious items on the menu, we would leave with indigestion on his "off" days and it just was not worth going since it was a crap shoot as to what his mood would be.”

• Food is very good. Prices are very good.
• Service is pretty slow.

“The price is really good and the food is very good. So far I have try most traditional food, but they do offer true Colombia plates. The only think I don't like is the service, they are usually pretty slow, so plan ahead for that. We even have names for the people that takes our order depending on they specialty. For example, this guy is big but slow as hell. Also, refuses to take orders on paper, he tries to remember all but always forget something. The are only two outstanding people there, This guy is small and moves like a bee, non stop and always make sure you have what you need. None of the less, this restaurant is a must go. Ah! Always order some empanadas, you will love them!”

The only think I don't like is the service, they are usually pretty slow, so plan ahead for that. We even have names for the people that takes our order depending on they specialty. The are only two outstanding people there, This guy is small and moves like a bee, non stop and always make sure you have what you need. None of the less, this restaurant is a must go. Ah! “Maybe it was an "off" day. I had heard Norman's was a good place close to the Sherry Hotel, home of airline crews. Very disappointed with the white/yellow (no romaine greens) Caesars' salad, with a pitiful 1/4" slab of over seasoned and dry mahi-mahi. There was so much dressing that salad leaves swam in a milky/watery mess, making the croutons mushy and inedible. I asked for tarter sauce with my calamari that turned out to be a dill mixture. The batter reminded me of KFC without any taste. Sorry, Norman's, the food was awful. The only saving grace was the waiter; his English was limited, but his demeanor welcoming and efficient. Keep the staff, improve the food, and you've got a gold mine. As if, it's a click below mediocre for the money.”

“This place is a hidden gem. We came here on the day after New Year's and were impressed with not only the world class churrasco and the nacatamal but also the hospitable, unobtrusive service. They have a good inexpensive selection of wines, a cacao to die for and a lovely atmosphere. Highly recommended.”

• Food was good and the servings were generous.
• A sports bar atmosphere which was a bit noisy.

“Were there for supper Dec 10, 2007. Baby back ribs were excellent. My wife and I both ordered the full rack @ $18.95 and had to struggle to finish the generous portion. A better strategy would have been to split a full rack or each order a half rack of ribs @ $16.95. The ribs come with fresh rolls, a green salad, and one side. We chose the roasted potatoes and they were good. The other couple ordered Caesar salad with fish and thought it was good. Generally good value for the money.”

“This restaurant is very delicious. I went today for the first time with some of my friends and let me tell you I would go back in an instant. The Philly cheese steak is to die for and so are the garlic rolls. Not to mention the fact that the ice cream is great too. Great place to eat!”

“My husband and I were in Miami last valentine's (Feb. '06) and stayed at a hotel near this restaurant. The desk manager at the hotel recommended it and boy, were we glad! We ate there 2 nights in a row. Loved the food, the mojotos and they had a kick ass salsa band on the Friday night we went. Highly recommend this restaurant for wonderful food, mojitos and authentic Cuban flair.”

“My "food" ranking may be somewhat misleading because, at first taste (and for a few hours afterwards), it seemed like a fantastic dinner. The sushi was divine and my shrimp pad Thai had an amazing flavor as well as. Count them. Ten huge and beautifully cooked shrimp! But, it's now 4 a.m. and my partner and I are wide awake with headaches and hearts racing. Why? We're sensitive to msg. We didn't know it was in the food, weren't told (of course) and (surprise) it wasn't noted on the menu. I haven't felt this in years, since all of the Asian restaurants we now frequent have banished it from their foods. Now we (unfortunately) know why Sushi Siams food was so tasty. Take out the Msg, guys we know you can cook without it!”

“The food was extremely horrible. I had the snapper fish sandwich and I couldn't get the first bite down. My husband had the lobster ravioli, the cheese on top was not melted the limes in the mojito were bad there was no passion taste in the passion colada. The food is overpriced. Really horrible.”

• Good gathering place and sports bar convenient to the Marriot and the Doubletree Grand.
• Hard to find unless a local clues you in, but maybe that's another thing that makes it so good.

“Mike's was a rare find hidden away on the 9th floor of a condo tower next door to the Marriot Hotel. I am a burned out restaurateur and I can honestly say it was nice to find a place with "normal" prices, food and people in Downtown Miami. It's pretty much locals only and one of the best kept secrets in Miami. Fantastic service from friendly people that care (one server I met has been there for 15 years, another 8), extensive bar, large variety menu plus daily specials, lots of TVs, 2 pool tables in back and outdoor seating by the pool.”

• Was difficult to find from the directions provided.

“Was recommended to take a business guest there. Wanted to eat good authentic Spanish cuisine. The food was great, the drinks were substantial, and the service was efficient. The Mariachi music was great. I highly recommend this place. Really nice atmosphere. There was a big birthday party next to us and it was obvious that they were having a great time. My business guest, visiting from Toronto was extremely satisfied.”

“This place is excellent ! I've been going here for years ! Order the "Patacon Pisao" with everything and "Maracuya Juice". The food is very heavy though, and the portions are huge - go with big appetite or split a meal.”

“I went a month ago for the 1st time to that restaurant more for tourists than locals. The food was really good for the price. (Special: rib eye + shrimp $22). I went back last night, we ask for our steak medium rare and we got a medium well done. We tell the server that try to convince us that's a medium to medium rare. And the chef doesn't want to replace the steak. Ok, if it's like that we'll never come back. Few minutes later the server comes back to tell us that we will receive another rib eye. This one was rare and anyway we were not really hungry after that.”

• I disliked everything: food, service, and the included gratuity.

“I know there aren't many Indian restaurants in Miami, but this is one to avoid. The service here is terrible. We waited 1.25 hours before even getting our appetizer. The food is eh, not so great. I've had much better food at places that are less expensive. And the prices are too much for what they give you (i.e. rice = $5, your dish doesn't come with rice - are you supposed to eat it with your hands?). Oh, and in case you are irritated about the service, food, or whatever you'll still end up paying the 18% gratuity for the awful experience. Avoid!”

The variety of foods imported from Argentina is extensive; however, lately, they don't bring the best brands like Havana (albacores) or la campanula (canned products). “Spent six days in Miami and the keys and this were the best food my family had while there. Food was fresh, service was friendly and prices affordable. The grilled shrimp wrap is amazing. Don't pass this one by based on looks. It has a bar type atmosphere but we went as a family and ate outside and were made to feel very welcome.”

• Drove 20 hours and still couldnt sleep hair on my bed.

“The bed had hair in it then, the clerk at the desk refused me new sheets or a new room. The bathroom was no different; the tub drain was full of hair and actually proofing out of the top of drain. There was an unlocked door behind the mirror dresser that has sliders under the legs for easy sliding that was actually access to the next room or to my room I am glad I found it before I left my room. Not only is this place Nasty but rude staff but unsafe>. I contacted the reservation company they easily gave me my money back with a big I am sorry. I hope no one else has to experience this.”

“First off, this place is expensive! Hers what we got (and what we paid): 2 plates of ravioli (cheapest dinner on the menu): $17.00 per plate (total amount of raviolis on each plate: 5) 1 jack and coke: $11.00 automatic 17% tip: $7.62 it took us several minutes to have our drink order taken. The food was good, but we left hungry (5 raviolis for $17.00? Are you kidding me?). This was a recommendation from the hotel (river park), who probably gets a kickback. Menu given at hotel was completely different than the menu at the restaurant.”

• Limos were very nice and also very prompt in pick up and drop off. Food was good and man playing the electric piano served up appropriate Italian favorites.
• Beware the costly bottled water and non-alcoholic drinks for kids ($9)!

“My family of 4 enjoyed the limo ride and the meal. I thought our bill of $225 (including 18% automatic gratuity) was high. While the food was good, I wouldn't say it was worthy of the prices charged. I got the impression the limo service was a gimmick to get patrons into the restaurant.”

“Usually disappointed with the service but today was the worst - a surly waitress. My potato pancakes came out a dark brown and I asked to him a new batch brought out. She brings out basically the same pancakes 5 minutes later and just dumps them down. Too bad the food is usually good so we would put up with the poor service but that's it no more. ”

“I had received mixed reviews about Anokha, but since it was in the grove we decided to give it a try for my friend¿s birthday party. The enters were more expensive than what we would normally pay. Since we weren¿t sure of the quantities we ordered a platter of kebabs as appetizer, 2 biryanis, 1 veggie curry, 1 chicken curry, and naans for 6 people. The curries were decent quantity but the biryani was too much we would have been better off with one biryani. Barring the appetizer the other stuff was average. Having said that I will give an A for the service which we received. The host was extremely courteous. We had reservations for sitting inside, but we decided we wanted to sit outside when we got there and the host willingly obliged. When he got to know that we had a birthday girl he went the extra mile to bring out a home made cake fashioned out of a dollop of carrot halwa with whipped cream and candle. That was quite touching, and that gesture alone made the trip to *Anokha worthwhile I did not leave the place as a big fan of their food, but I had a smile on my face and felt that I had a good time.”

• Delicious food in huge portions.
• The surrounding neighborhood would give people the impression that it's not good quality. Don't let it scare you, the place is clean.

“I'm a local and I go here all the time for late breakfasts on the weekends. The people are friendly, the restaurant in clean, and the food is delicious. It's not the right place for a romantic dinner, nor for a power meeting with your clients, but it's a fabulous hometown place. I would definitely bring my out of town guests and friends here.”

• Love the Birch Beer and the burger was a little bigger, but tasted the same.
• Not the best part of Miami.

“Arnold's reminds us of a time in the fifties and sixties in South Florida, when there was a Burger chain called Royal Castle. A White Castle knock-off, they sold all beef hamburgers cooked with onions on a soft roll and topped with a pickle chip. The burger was $.15 and a glass of Birch Beer was $.05. If you grew up in South Florida, you might stop by Arnold's to remember those days of your youth when life was a little simpler. ”
