Firehouse Restaurant
Sep 16, 2009 by Jim from Florida

Overall Rating: 4 User Rating Score: 4
Food:[7] • Service:[2] • Atmosphere:[5]

  • Food was great.
  • Servers/bartenders were awful.

“The food was very good but that was it. The service was terrible. From getting a drink at the bar took forever. You need 2 bartenders behind the bar who are not drinking. Also the serving staff acted like they were drunk or on drugs. This restaurant is supposed to be owned by 2 volunteer firefighters. You need to do something new with the staff if you want this new restaurant to be a hit.”

Makotos Sfood Steakhouse Japan
May 29, 2009 by Laura from Hollywood, FL

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10
Food:[10] • Service:[10] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • Loved the food, drinks, service and quietness of this restaurant.
  • Nothing wrong with it.

“I usually am not into Japanese or Chinese dining because from previous experience its better as a take out. Was visiting family in Melbourne and I have to say that the food was amazing, the chef, the service and the atmosphere was perfect. I definitely recommend this to anyone that is looking for a good dinner and the prices were very fair.”

Pizza Gallery, Inc
Apr 15, 2009 by William Pond from Palm Bay

Overall Rating: 3 User Rating Score: 3
Food:[4] • Service:[2] • Atmosphere:[5]

  • Drinks were okay.
  • Wait staff is the worst.

“The service was terrible. The food was cold. The hostess Christine was rude. When I complained to the manager, he just didn't care. This place was not worth the ride and not worth the wait. This was our second time there with the same results!”

Applebees
Mar 24, 2009 by Gabe from Portland

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1
Food:[1] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[1]

  • Absolutely nothing.
  • Inedible food, terrible service and worst dining experience ever.

“The worst food I have ever attempted to eat. Both entrees were returned to the kitchen because they were inedible, and I have never returned food in my life. The ceasar salad was a pile of lettuce with stale bread crotons and mayo for dressing! The ribs came on blank white plate with nothing else on it and looked like beef jerkey wrapped bones. I wouldn't go back.”

Valentnos Ny Style Pizza Itali
Feb 3, 2009 by Coach Jerry Glanville from Georgia

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8
Food:[9] • Service:[8] • Atmosphere:[8]

  • Loved the food and the dinning experience. The owners are great people and come out to talk to you.
  • None.

“The best Italian food I've had in Florida. The Veal is fantastic no matter which way you have it. By the way, I had the Marsalis, Piņata and the Scaloppini. Then another night I had the Pizza because everyone says you can't find good pizza in Florida. The Pizza here is as good as the pizza in New York. The food is authentic Italian not Italian want to be. When you go in, tell them the Coach sent you.”

Makotos Sfood Steakhouse Japan
Jan 16, 2009 by Ariel from Palm Bay

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10
Food:[10] • Service:[9] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • Best Japanese food in Melbourne.
  • Long wait.

“It is the choice restaurant to go to for celebration dinners. All the cooks try to make it a fun time for you to be there and every way you look you can see other tables having a great time. It might appear to be kind of spendy for the food, but you are actually getting approx. 2 meals per person. I can't eat a full plate of food from Makotos! Be prepared to take home lots of leftovers.”

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10
Food:[9] • Service:[9] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • Great family place with good food and good value (lots for the money), and clean!
  • No negatives, really.

“Great place, clean, good staff, great food and really good free live music on Friday and Saturday evenings. We go there often. Great for the kids - soundproof kids game room with large window so you can keep on eye on your kids, but not hear them!!! good value for the money, too - always lots of leftovers, and the free cinnamon rolls are great!”

Austin's California Bistro
Mar 22, 2008 by Renee from Mooresville, IN

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8
Food:[10] • Service:[8] • Atmosphere:[7]

  • Food was delicious and attractive.
  • Waited a little too long for each course.

“The picnic lunch portions were small but great for a light lunch. The lobster bisque was delicious. I also enjoyed the salad with goat and feta cheese, and pine nuts. The grilled chicken sandwich was great also. I would recommend...food is better than atmosphere.”

Makotos Sfood Steakhouse Japan
Feb 1, 2008 by Amy from Melbourne

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10
Food:[10] • Service:[4] • Atmosphere:[5]

  • Great food.
  • Long wait and not so good service.

“I love to eat at Makotos. The only thing is that the building is to small. I think they should relocate to somewhere larger so the service is better. That is one of the main reasons we don't go there more than we do because of the service and it is a very long wait even with reservations. But the food is worth it.”

Mighty Mushroom Pizzeria
Jan 21, 2008 by PAULA from MELBOURNE

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1
Food:[1] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[2]

  • Clean/new.
  • Everything else.

“This is the worst restaurant I have been to. I would've rather been at McDonald's. The salad bar had only four toppings to choose from. I was there for over an hour and not one pizza was put out fresh. The cheese looked like plastic, the toppings fall off when you pick up the piece, it was barely warm, the crust looked like the Jiffy mix crust. I could go on and on about how bad it was. It was clean and that's the only nice thing I have to say. It was very loud and echoey. The waitress took our plates as we were eating our last bite, as our hand was still over the plate. We ordered for some friends to go, and it took 45 minutes! Terrible restaurant.”

Dons Famous Hoagies
Jul 27, 2007 by Rick from Merritt Island

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10

  • Friendly, hard working employees.
  • Seats have no padding.

“Good sandwiches and great customer service! Odd pricing, like $6.37 for a sandwich is typical. Don's is never open on Sunday. Friendly atmosphere with interesting photos and humorous cartoons and plaques on the walls.”

Continental Flambe' Inc
Jul 14, 2007 by John from Melbourne

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1
Food:[1] • Service:[10] • Atmosphere:[1]

  • Service was excellent.
  • Bread was old and stale and I saw cockroaches.

“The restaurant Continental Flambe may seem like a fantastic restaurant but it really is not. I have personally seen the owner of Continental Flambe take cheap vodka and put it into the Grey Goose bottle. I have also seen them drop food on the floor of the kith and then pick it up and serve it. The bread that they serve is not fresh. About half of the bread they serve in a night has already been on a table once or twice. They reuse all the bread that comes back from their tables. This is by order of the owners and by no way means any fault of the servers. The oils that you dip your bread in are left out over night; so you never know what has gotten in them. They also have a bit of a bug problem. I have seen cockroaches all over the restaurant. The silverware is left out over night so anything could have crawled on them. I have also seen the chef (the owner) take a couple of steaks back that were over cooked and then serve them later that night to someone who had ordered that temperature. This is a horrible place to go. Yet be the servers are excellent and friendly but you never know what you might be eating.”

Makotos Sfood Steakhouse Japan
May 31, 2007 by TONY from MELBOURNE

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10
Food:[10] • Service:[10] • Atmosphere:[9]

  • The food is great and their shrimp sauce, steak sauce and salad dressing is perfection.
  • I like their old location on US-1 in the Ramada hotel better.

“I am 32 years old and lived in Florida from 1982-1995 and went to Makotos on a weekly basis, even back when that were on US-1 inside the Ramada hotel. They moved because of a fire to their new location. During the time they were closed about a year. I felt I lost my best friend. I was giddy when they open back up. I live in New York now, and have since 1996 but I still have dreams about Makotos. They sell the Makotos salad dressing in some stores up there in NY and I am blown away about that. Every time I come back to visit Florida the first place I go when I get off the plane is Makotos. The best place to eat in the state of Florida. I wish they would open one in New York.”

Sweet Tomatos Pizzeria
May 9, 2007 by carol from cocoa fl

Overall Rating: 6 User Rating Score: 6
Food:[10] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[2]

  • Food yummy.
  • Bad service.

“I have eaten here many times - delicious food and service is good. However, the last time my sister and I went in, we were served our drinks and waited a good 20+ minutes to order, finally went up to counter and asked for our bill (to pay for our drinks and leave) and the two girls were standing at the counter yakking. There were empty tables - they were not too busy. I do not know what their problem was but we never went back. I miss their delicious food but it is not worth it to be treated like that. They did not charge us for our drinks. This is a very casual place, no frills. ”

Makotos Sfood Steakhouse Japan
Feb 25, 2007 by Steve from MELBOURNE

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1
Food:[1] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[1]

  • Not Much.
  • Overflowing toilets, filthy.

“We waited almost 30 min for just a bartender, still no drink while waiting. Called to table, still no service for 20 minutes! Finally, a waiter and still 20 min for our first drink even water! Food was typical, a good meal, Except for the abundance of carrots. But the cheery on the cake, the men's room - total filth, just a mess, made me want to puke! As I had just eaten a meal there, and saw all the children as well. Never again!”

Food:[10] • Service:[9] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • Wonderful food, and great ambiance.
  • Wait time, even with reservations.

“Makoto's was a great experience, the food was wonderful, and the service was very good. We had reservations, and still waited for over an hour to be seated, that was the only downfall that I had with this restaurant.”

Makotos Sfood Steakhouse Japan
Jul 26, 2006 by Anthony from Cocoa, FL

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8
Food:[10] • Service:[8] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • Talented cooks, fun for family and you won't leave hungry-
  • SOMETIMES the service leaves a bit to be desired. (Teenage workers and such)

“If you are tired of "that same old' buffet"; you really owe it to yourself a trip to Makoto's! My wife and I found this restaurant by accident, but I'm sure glad we did. From the moment you sit down at the table and are given a hot towel to wash your hands- you are almost sure to have a good experience. Your meal will be cooked for you, right in front of you. Make sure you have room in the fridge for left-over. ”

Austin's California Bistro
May 29, 2006 by Tom from Melbourne

Overall Rating: 7 User Rating Score: 7
Food:[3] • Service:[8] • Atmosphere:[5]

  • Friendly staff.
  • Poor quality of food.

“I found the food to be very expensive for what you received. The rib steak that I ordered was mostly fat and grizzle. The service was very good and the staff extremely friendly. This however did not offset the poor food served. I mentioned the poor quality of my meal and the waiter took it in stride and made no response. I also found the wine to be a bit over priced. Sorry, I will not return to this Bistro.”
