User Reviews for Pensacola Restaurants« Go back to Chico HotelsResearch User Reviews for Pensacola (1-20 of 30)Joe'S Crab Shack
“We went to this address thinking that we would be eating at Joe's Crab Shack, but instead it is Landry's Seafood House. The food was good. It does not have the same atmosphere that Joe's Crab Shack has. Would I go back? No.”

“I loved the Shrimp basket and it has the best crab legs!”

“The wait may have not been so long if the food hadn't been so good! My husband and I took our extended family to Joe's Crab Shack last weekend. The food was great and prices well for what you get. I personally had the Rubyreds/Crab plate and it was about $20 (one of the more pricey things on the menu). Adult beverage prices are very reasonable. Their kids menu was good and the kids food had real flavor. The kid's mac-n-cheese was actually penne paste in a white cheese cream sauce (good even for an adult's taste). The restrooms are very nice and even the gentleman's restroom has a baby changing table (good to know). We will be back.”

“Now, over 30 years later, my family and I still enjoy the show and food. Since then, I have lived in five other cities (including Atlanta) and traveled to numerous others (DC, New York, Las Vegas, Denver, San Fran, etc) for work, but I have yet to find another Japanese restaurant that can hold a candle to the quality of the show and food at Nobusei. The owner has built a lifetime of friends and followers. Every time I am in there I hear him asking someone "How is your mother" or "father" or "sister" or, well you get the picture. Point is, for many in Pensacola, Nobusei isn't just a place to eat, it is where family and friends gather. I dare say many relationships got their start with him behind the hibachi grill. My wife and I still laugh about the things he said and did on our first dinner-date! You can find a fancier building with all the trimmings, but you cannot find better food or value.”

“I have been dining at this Applebee's for a few years now and it seems as if the quality of clientele has diminished a bit. I had noticed children running wild in the isles.”

“Dharma blue in my opinion was awful. A group of us went there before homecoming and we got horrible service and Ive never needed a knife to cut grouper.”

“5-30-08, the restaurant itself is gorgeous and had Cuban music playing in the background. We got there at rush hour and it was a bit noisy. I had the Seafood Zarzuela and my wife had the Palomilla steak. The Zarzuela was outstanding and I would definitely order it again. The Palomilla steak was not as expected. Normally in south Florida this dish is prepared with boneless round or Sirloin steak; the one at Verona's was prepared with cubed steak. It was good but different. Had for dessert Tres Leches cake and a Guava Puff pastry; both were outstanding. Can't wait to go back to Verona's.”

“The Global Grill is my favorite restaurant in Pensacola! I've been to Jackson's and Global beats it hands down! The best thing on their menu is the New York Strip steak entree with crab and ale sauce. It's a must and worth every penny!”

“We waited for 1 hour to be served. It took the waitress 30 minutes to even take our drink order and that was after I had to run her down. The food made all of us sick! Bad food and horrible service!”

“Fantastic eclectic menu. A "must eat" for travelers and locals alike. Great bar and sushi also. Who could ask for more?”

“I used to think Skopelos was a good place for special occasions, but not anymore. One really bad experience has colored my view of it forever. It was my 50th birthday and both the service and the food were entirely mediocre. My husband and I said we'd given it one last try and it hadn't improved, so it was off of our list. But that wasn't the end of it. We went out to the parking lot and backed the van up to leave and heard a ripping sound. When we got out, we saw that a long steel rod that was holding the parking bumper in place in the parking lot was sticking out about 2 feet and had caught up under our bumper and tore a 1-foot gash in the bumper of our brand new van. We couldn't get it off, so went inside to tell the manager. He came out, once, to see what the problem was, but offered no help, then went back inside. We had to jack up the van about a foot to pull this steel rod out from under the bumper! It cost $700 to replace the bumper, so I sent a copy of the bill plus a letter to the owner explaining what had happened that night. I never heard a word from the restaurant. I called once and left a message, but still no answer. This place stinks. I will never, ever go back for any reason, and will tell everyone I know (and have been telling them) not to go there. That is the worst customer service I've ever heard of. They should be ashamed.”

“Our company supervisor meetings have been booked in several restaurants in our surrounding area. Coach-n-four accommodates our meetings very well, a private room, and excellent steaks with a good variety menu. The service is always good and a very friendly staff. We would recommend them for any occasion or event.”

“My wife & I have been enjoying nobuse I for many years. The best hibachi in town! Be sure and ask for "nobu's" table! Sushi is exquisite. I love the sashimi, tuna! Nobu is the most entertaining hibachi chef I have ever met, and we stop at hibachi everywhere we go! (Forget bennihana!).”

“You can't argue that it has an awesome selection of draft beer - probably the best in Pensacola, and plenty of TVs. The food is "ok¿, but look at is something to eat while you're drinking the beer, not as a reason to go. Appetizers are generally better than the "main courses". Service is terrible; sit at the bar if you can. The kind of grungy decor somehow works, although I¿m not sure why. Not a family place, not a "date" place; a good place to "stop by for a few" on a Friday or weekend, or maybe to go and watch a game. Also, pretty close to both NAs Pensacola and curry station, so it's a cheap cab fare home if you can't drive.”

“My wife and I love the angus; it is one of Pensacola¿s best. Our favorite is the petite filet and the grouper pan fried with jumbo lump crabmeat. We visit at least 1 time a week. Very reasonable.”

“The restaurant was busy, but there were plush armchairs in the front where we were able to wait for a table in comfort. We only had to wait for about fifteen minutes for a table. The atmosphere was charming: local art on the walls (for sale) and the place looked like it used to be a dress shop (long and narrow space, with good lighting). The bar was long and well-stocked. Martinis are their specialty. We stuck to the tapas and dessert portions of the menu, we were able to try four different dishes for the price of two entrees. Everything was delicious and fresh. Sticking to the "global" theme, there were Spanish-inspired salads and funky fusion tapas like the mozzarella egg rolls (strange combination, but gooey and crunchy and well made). We ended up spending about $40 for our meal of tapas and dessert for two. Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable, he asked all the right questions to make the exact martini that we wanted, and the service was prompt and neat. We will definitely eat at the Global Grill again (once we save up enough money). It was definitely worth the price!”

“The Global Grill is an eclectic dining experience, with a full tapas menu as well as daily specials. Although the ingredients used in the tapas were not presented in the same way as they are in Spain, they were made one better with interesting takes on the some of the same basic ingredients as Spanish tapas. Try the Baked Brie with Pecans, the Squash Fries with Chorizo Gravy, and the Crab meat/Artichoke/Spinach Dip. Also, the Pork Tenderloin in Chorizo Gravy and the Salmon Roll were delicious. This restaurant is best suited for older children (10 and up) and would be a great place for a first date or even an anniversary. ”

“The hibachi table meals are the best in Pensacola and there is a sushi bar besides. Foods served to a regular table are served piping hot, and the restaurant is small enough that the wait staff can keep an eye on you without hovering OR ignoring you. They use no MSG. Hibachi cuisine rivals any I have tasted, and the showmanship of the chef is quite excellent and personable. ”
