Emma's Taco House
Nov 21, 2008 by AAA from Sacramento

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1
Food:[8] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[2]

  • Food is good if you're hungry.
  • Service stinks and pending litigation for my injuries.

“Food: I ordered the special of the day, the shrimp burrito with toppings. It was pretty good considering I was hungry at the time. The size of the burrito was like the size of your leg! The price ($9.95), however, wasn't reflective of the value of the food in the area. Service: We were served by this old waiter who mumbles when he took our order. When he brought out our food, I got burned by the hot plate containing my food. When I complained, the manager and the service without a smile waiter took turns berating me for my clumsiness, thinking they just foiled a freeloader. The food is very good, but it'll be our first and last time going there.”

Emma's Taco House
Oct 2, 2008 by Mark from Bryte/W.Sac/Sac

Overall Rating: 5 User Rating Score: 5
Food:[5] • Service:[3] • Atmosphere:[3]

  • Margaritas to die for. Also if made correctly cheese enchiladas.
  • Servers need a energy and nice.

“When the parents ran the place it was all about consistency. Nothing ever changed and you couldn't mix items on the menu. Now I don't know what he was doing except losing customers! Don't change the chips, you should always put green onions on the cheese enchiladas that's the way it was. Now you have to ask to be put on. Your new customers don't know what they were missing. Don't change what isn't broken. Keep the house hot sauce on the tables, should not have to ask. I been going here a very long time. I kind of think it's to do with money. Make your portions a little smaller. But don't change your parents dream. I would like to see you make it! I really love this place but may only come back when you change back.”

Eppies
Aug 19, 2008 by Dave from Queen Creek, AZ

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10
Food:[10] • Service:[10] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • Great food, reasonable prices especially for California.
  • Really have none at this time.

“I have visited this restaurant twice now, and both times I have not been disappointed. The food in great, especially the garlic mushroom rib eye. The service is spot on. A great location, especially for truck drivers as it is across the street from a truck stop. Definitely recommended.”

Food:[10] • Service:[8] • Atmosphere:[7]

  • Clean, tasty, good value.
  • Neighborhood is a bit sketchy.

“Can't believe this place is still open. Actually has pretty decent portions and the food is clean - which is something that can't be said for most diners.”

Eppies
Apr 20, 2008 by Elizabeth from Reno

Overall Rating: 8 User Rating Score: 8
Food:[9] • Service:[9] • Atmosphere:[7]

  • Good portions, fresh, tasty, clean, good service.
  • Interior could use some remodeling.

“I go out of my way to eat here when I want some good comfort food at a fair price when coming to and from the city. It's not fine dining, then again, it doesn't pretend to be. Specials are made from scratch by the owner and there's the occasional complementary cookie.”

Sals Tacos
Dec 5, 2007 by Julian from Elk Grove

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9
Food:[9] • Service:[9] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • Best taco in west Sacramento.
  • Some items just a little pricey.

“Good tacos! Some of the best Ive ever had, also the beans are very tasty! 8 different types of homemade salsa at their salsa bar. I suggest the number one; you get a taco, enchilada, rice, beans and an ice cold mug of Pepsi or what ever soft drink you prefer. Also the Super Carnitas Burrito is seriously almost a foot long, all the fixins inside. I'm a big eater and I only finished half. Sal's has great food, great service, Ill be back soon!”

Emma's Taco House
Dec 5, 2007 by Jules from Elk Grove

Overall Rating: 3 User Rating Score: 3
Food:[1] • Service:[5] • Atmosphere:[5]

  • Food was okay.
  • A rubber band in my Flauta.

“Emma's Taco House is nothing special. Service is mediocre, waitress came by only to take our order, serve us drinks, bring the food and give us our bill. The food was just okay, overpriced, lunch special average is $12 and this is your 1 item, beans and rice. The Flauta I ordered was okay, chicken was very dry. My wife and I got out of there spending $27. I took my Flauta home and the next day when I went to zap it in the microwave; I flipped the Flauta over and found a green rubber band at the bottom of the Flauta, gross! Notified the owner, he refunded my $12 for my Flauta lunch, but nothing else. You won't catch me at Emma's Taco House ever again. If you want authentic in west sac, try some of the hole in the Wall Taqueria's, better food and you won't go broke eating out!”

Vince's Italian Restaurant
Jul 25, 2007 by Ryan from Sacramento

Overall Rating: 3 User Rating Score: 3
Food:[6] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[7]

  • Old fashioned family Italian feel.
  • Bad service and mediocre food.

“My search for an old fashioned family Italian restaurant in Sacramento remains unfinished. The service was very poor. Unhappy and disinterested waiter than couldn't wait to go home. Food was half decent, but not good enough to justify the high prices.”

Emma's Taco House
Jun 17, 2007 by JB McGuire from Citrus Heights

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10
Food:[10] • Service:[7] • Atmosphere:[7]

  • Consistently Great food and Margaritas.
  • Closed on Sunday and Monday.

“The best Tamales in the world. Consistently great. Been going there for almost thirty years. Come out happy every time. Fantastic Margaritas too. Richard is missed, but he has Emma's downtown for lunch and it's the same great food. I wish they were open 7 days a week though. a lot of times would like to eat there on Sunday or Monday, but they're closed then I got to travel about twenty miles each way to eat there, it's worth it.”

Togos Eatery
Jun 10, 2007 by shauna from west sacramento

Overall Rating: 5 User Rating Score: 5
Food:[9] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[1]

  • The bread is fresh.
  • They put away the soup early and tell you there is no more!

“We really like Togo's but this particular restaurant likes to put away the food at 7:30pm when they don't close until 9:00pm and tell you they do not have any soup or mayonnaise left. Togo's, you really need to keep your food available for customers or better yet hire somebody that wants to work!”

Emma's Taco House
Apr 6, 2007 by Judy from West sacramento

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1
Food:[1] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[1]

  • The Nachos are always great.
  • The service thanks to the owner Linda - the chicken for tacos etc - no taste rice and beans new recipe needed...

“This used to be the greatest place for happy hour margaritas - but the owner¿s wife Linda was very rude to several customers who have been returning customers for many years as well as my family. She needs some customer service training on how to approach - greet - and serve her customers - myself and several others will not return to this restaurant the food is not authentic especially for the Hispanic community but the Nachos I would say are the best..”

Emma's Taco House
Feb 16, 2007 by Hal from Sacramento

Overall Rating: 9 User Rating Score: 9
Food:[9] • Service:[9] • Atmosphere:[8]

  • Friendly service.
  • Out of the way location.

“I have been to Emma¿s on many occasions. It is authentic Mexican food prepared by the same family for over 50 years. The atmosphere is casual and family friendly although most customers are couples or small groups.”
