• Great staff, every ones really friendly and professional. The owner may come out to make sure your doing well.
• It rained when we were eating outside on the deck but the staff brought out extra umbrellas.

“A great way to celebrate a special occasion. Definitely a romantic setting outside with small lanterns lit around. Cool day. No worries, there are heaters to warm up the deck area. The inside is quaint and cozy. The food is great, for pasta lovers try the Fettuccine alla Marengo (fettuccine pasta, strips of chicken, roasted bell pepper, olives, sun-dried tomato, and white wine sauce). Enjoy this plate with garlic bread. And Finish off with their Tiramisu for dessert, yummy!”

• I have eaten there a dozen or more times and it's always excellent.
• They do not serve dinner.

• The best value for good old home cooking, plus more.
• It's not fancy, it's a cafe with great food!

“As we were driving home, we stopped by Bert's since the parking lot looked full of local residents. Well we were met with a warm welcome. The food and service was awesome, but this is not a fancy restaurant, it's a cafe and they do it well. So after a night of drinking, smoke filled air and gambling, or coming off the mountain, Bert's is a place for everyone.”

“I recently was in charge of hosting a bachelor party. I searched for a good sushi place in South Lake Tahoe. I read the previous review which I cannot disagree with more. I asked many locals as to where the best place for Sushi was, they all pointed to Naked Fish. We showed up after 8pm with a party of 8, the wait was about 45-50 minutes, a young gentleman offered us drinks while we sat in the waiting area. The food was more than worth the wait, excellent in every way! They had Toro, which was amazing! The staff was professional and eager to serve us. We even saw a few of the folks at the Casino later that night; they remembered and were all smiles. Perhaps the gentleman with the poor service review would be more comfortable at a larger less personal spot. I spoke with the Sushi Chef, it was clear he was passionate about nutrition and quality, his food showed it.”

• The food is bad and expensive.

“The salad bar provides very simple food or vegetables, and it is a cheap way to fill you up before the main meal because the amount of food served is very small for a big price. The food tasted terrible.”

“I have nothing to complain about the service or the food, but the owner of this restaurant is nothing else than a robber! Be careful and when you get your bank statement check that they didn't take more than what you signed on the receipt.”

• Small indoor area of too cold to eat outside.

“Tizzy¿s is a very, very casual fast food hamburger place that has great hamburgers, French fries, and onion rings. There are picnic tables outside to eat and a very small inside area. If you are looking for fine dining in a great atmosphere, this is not the place, but if you are looking for great burgers, fries and onion rings, this is the place. Dumpy looking but great food!”

• Help that we were able to see were clean and extremely busy. We were greeted right away.
• Food was "bad" biscuit was hard, chicken fried steak was sickening. Had to spit it out.

• The waiter Rory (I think I spelled it right) is always very pleasant.
• Need to call ahead on weekends, always busy.

“Love the place. It was recommended several years ago by a local Tahoe friend. We have visited there many times a year and have always had excellent food and service. The menu is great; try the sea bass and the scuba bread, always my favorite. They also offer many great wines to choose from at fair prices. You will leave very pleased every time you visit.”

• The service is superb - food excellent!

“As long time residents of South Lake Tahoe, we have been steady customers of Scusa. We have never had one bad meal or bad service. I must disagree with one review about bad lasagna, we have the lasagna regularly and it is fabulous! Try the linguini it will make you cry it is so good. I recommend this place to anyone staying in Lake Tahoe, it is not a tourist trap like some other places, and you will leave satisfied that you came.”

“The food was terrible and way over priced for what it was. Their "Mole" sauce tasted like death and their service was horrendous! I've had more authentic Mexican food at Chevy's. Save your money and go somewhere else. You've been warned! ”

“this is the real deal for take-n-bake. no other pizza i have ever had can touch this place, take-n-bake or not. i will be getting at least one nik-n-willies pizza every time i go up to tahoe.”

• efficient and attentive staff
• really bad lasagne, at least one staff member was drinking wine.

“If anyone decides to go to this place for dinner i would suggest that you don't order lasagne. I did and recieved what amounted to 3 cheeseburgers (without the bread) stacked on top of each other, all covered in what seemed like a tin of chopped tomatoes. As far as i know, i only could manage two small mouthfulls, there was no lasagne pasta and no bechemel sauce - both pretty essential in a lasagne.

I didn't complain at the time as my girlfriend would not have liked it but i will probably not be going back to Scusa again.”

• Only serve beer and wine

“Although during my last visit to Scusa, we were greeted by a bitter woman who gave us a bad start to our dining experience, our waiter was excellent, and the food is ALWAYS excellent! Scusa is my favorite restaurant on the south shore.”

• me and my friends
• just about everything except us. (hated food most)

“The food was cold which was a great bonus, as it probably helped to disguise the intense horrific flavor, not to mention the great vegetarian option that my friend was offered...bread. There were no people there except for our school group as I can see no sane reason why anyone would ever eat there voluntarily. If only I could shut down that restaurant so that no one would ever have to be subjected to such a would-be-failed-if-there-were-no-tour-operators miserable existence of a 'restaurant'.”
