User Reviews for Santa Ana Restaurants« Go back to Pingree RestaurantsResearch User Reviews for Santa Ana (1-20 of 30)El Nuevo Monterey
“El Nuevo Monterrey is a restaurant and a night club. They have a live band, good food, and friendly staff. Ei Nuevo Monterrey is great for a night out. The music they play are Cambia's, Salsa, Ranchers, and more. All of the music is Latin music.”

“This place is off the hook, great service, fun crowd, and the band was fantastic, I think they are called 3rd step, a family band, two brothers and a sister that kept everyone on their feet. Can't wait to go back when they are playing there.”

“My Wife's family has been going to La Chiquita for more than 30 years. The owner is a great guy. The food is authentic and delicious, and the prices are incredibly reasonable. Nothing fancy about the ambiance, but you go for the food!”

“They allow smoking at the bar when it is illegal in the entire state. The staff looks the other way as long as people are drinking to get drunk. When our party asked the bartender, she cited some falsehood about state law regarding how many employees are on duty at the time. Please spare the lies and just tell us the truth - you don't care as long as people are tipping you enough not to care.”

“I love George's Thai Bistro. The food is the best Thai food I've ever had. The flavors are so bold and I have not found any other Thai food that comes close. But the service is the worst I've ever had! They take your order correctly, but it feels as if you're not wanted there. They are not polite, they are not friendly. They never come back and ask if you need anything. First they take forever to take your order. Then the only time you ever get a visit from your waiter is when they bring your food and the bill. I have waited 45 minutes for my food when the restaurant was busy, but not as busy as it had been in the past. I used to eat here 3 times a week for like 6 months. I probably have only had a handful of good service compared to the 100's of times I've been there. But unfortunately. I'm addicted to the food. So I've compromised and only take the food to go. I do not waste my time there anymore! The second I find another restaurant with a similar place. I will stop going to George's Bistro.”

“Karaoke, live bands, pool, darts, cold beer, stiff drinks what more could you want in a local neighborhood bar? Colorful locals add to the ambience.”

“This little take out place makes pizza the right way. Hot slices, real cheese on crispy (not chewy) crust. Ordered a pepperoni and sausage, and what I got was medium sized (not too big or small) slices on a light but solid and crispy crust. Just the right amount of mix of sauce and cheese. Not too much cheese. But the best was that they used real sausage and pepperoni, not the balled up sausage that most places use. Real slices of sausage, and just a bit of seeds on the meat for flavor.”

“The food here is very good at reasonable prices. My place of business has clients who are vegetarian. There are a good number of dishes on the menu that work for them. You tell your server how spicy you would like your meal.”

“This food was delicious. I had the lemon and thyme roasted chicken. I still to this day have cravings for the chicken. The price was reasonable and I cannot comment enough. You do not have to be a hotel guest to eat there and the view is just breath taking. ”

“Whenever I¿m in a mall (or working in one like I do) looking for food, I look for a steak escape. It stands out from other fast food restaurants as they actually cook the food fresh to order, not sitting on steam-tables for hours. They use fresh ingredients to produce some tasty sandwiches. Their freshly cut fries, fresh lemonade, and brewed iced-tea are also some of my favorite. (Little tip: ask for your fries well-done. Since they cook the fries on a per-order, per-serving basis, sometimes they don't get cooked quite enough and they are thus a little soggy and limp, and won't be as tasty!) This location in the Santa Ana main place mall food court recently opened under new management. Service has improved, seeing as the former manager could be downright rude...”

“I've eaten in the worlds best kosher ankh kosher style delis. Save your money! I had a brisket on rye which was full of fat and gristle. I took it home and my dog wouldn't even eat it. Your better off eating at arby's.”

“I was traveling on business in California and happened upon this deli. It did not look like a NY style deli. The decor was very California "contemporary". I found the food exceptional! I had pastrami on rye with mustard and a bowl of matzo ball soup. I would compare the food to the best of anything I have eaten in NYC (including Katz¿s and stage).”

“Chilling Rincon has the best food for your money. The food is fresh and hand made at the time of order. It takes a bit to get the food but is all worth it. The food is Devine. You haven't eaten real Mexican food if you haven't eaten here. The quesadillas are real tasty. The tortillas are hand made and so they are crunchy. The gorditas are the bomb. It takes what we as Americans know Mexican food to the next level. Try the licuados and the tacos de canasta. These tacos are fried a little in a red sauce but are to die for! They are not spicy for people who don't like spicy things. Good luck! Your eyes will be bigger than your stomach! The prices are very reasonable. I have never had bad luck here. I wish I had this restaurant in my neighborhood. I drive 25 minutes away to just savor the food.”

“I was in Santa Ana California on business and found a place called Tommy Pastrami, a self-professed New York style Deli. I must say, the food was exceptional. I had the signature pastrami on rye, and could not finish the thing! I talked to one of the employees, and they told me they are going to open these delis all over California. Great place. I hope they open a couple in the Bay area.”

“When we left, the owner or manager angrily told us "we made about $5 out of your lunch, but because you took the table for 4 hours, we had lost $50 or more". Some more-crowded restaurants around, such as Claim Jumper, Kaisen sushi or China Olive, always politely said thanks. Service is not fast enough for quick lunch, you may be kicked out for long staying.”

“Sumo is the type of sushi restaurant you'd find in a business section of Japan. Not traditional by any means, nor is the sushi very original. ”
