La La Land Restaurant

• Atmosphere ok.
• Mediocre food-poor service.

“I was very disappointed in the quality of the food and the service. My daughter and I dined at the restaurant on August 18th, and I had Escargot which had no taste and I didn't finish. The pastry was hard and the Escargot was not good. The waiter didn't even ask how it was or why I left most on my plate. The crab cakes were mostly filler and not great. I only ate one of the two. My daughter had the Asparagus for an appetizer which was very good. The waiter did not come back to our table on a timely basis except at the end when he came to collect the money for the bill. The restaurant was recommended to us, which is why we came, but we will not be back.”

• The veal marsala is delicious.
• Owners have an attitude.

“The food is quite good but the restaurant is very noisy. I usually leave with a headache. Also, the wine by the glass is very expensive. The waiter encouraged us to bring our own wine after we complained about the high prices. We saw that people around us were doing that. So, the next time, we brought our own! They charged us 25.00 to open two bottles of wine! Outrageous! Oh, and did I mention that the owners make you feel like they are doing you a favor by allowing you to dine there! I boycotted Zebra last summer for these reasons. The food is excellent if you can put up with the attitude!”

“Even though I come from the connecting town, I have never been here. I have heard a lot about it, but always thought it was only a gay place. A group of us went there on a Saturday night for dinner, which was incredible. Then we heard there was a show later so we stayed. We had no idea what kind of show, but are we so glad we stayed. It turned out to be a drag show. I had never seen one, but it was hilarious, and very entertaining. I am glad my girlfriend was with me, because we couldn't tell that these were not girls. The place is a very cool Key West/Island atmosphere and makes you feel like you are on vacation. If you are lucky enough to be there when the owner is there, you will be guaranteed a good time. He is a nut, made our night and every one elses. Great food, staff and owners. Love that place. Will always bring my beach guests there. Good time guaranteed.”

• Very reasonably priced dinner, cheapest drinks at beach, great staff and owners.
• No negatives.

“This place is so cool. I have heard about it from a lot of friends, and even though I live in the connecting town, I have never been. I did not know what to expect. We went on a Sunday night. The food was unreal, Key West/Island style atmosphere. We were eating and found out that they had a show. My girlfriend and I had no plans so we stayed. Wow. It turned out to be a drag show. We had the most fun we ever did at any rest/bar. If your lucky enough and the owner is there you will even have a better time. He is a nut, love that place.”

“We made the mistake of going to Zebra last summer. The service was terrible. He tossed our menus on the table and talked to us like we were putting him out. We have eaten in many fine restaurants all over the east coast and internationally and this was the absolute worst service we ever experienced. The food as so-so.”

• Food is just plain bad.

“After many visits to zebra the one thing we have come to count on is the inconsistency. Our first several visits were very good concerning the food service on the other hand was bad. Recent visits (the last time being October 07) the food was so bad we left three fourths of our meal. After complaining nothing was done except they boxed up the leftovers for us to take when we asked them not to. We threw the boxes in the trash. It just wasn't worth trying to eat. Pasta was overcooked, sauces were bland and thin, and meat was overcooked and dry. The service had improved but we are going to think long and hard before spending money at zebra again.”

“During the summer my parents have a standing reservation on every Friday night. We get to enjoy the wonderful food and friendly service when we come down. It is such a treat and Roberto takes special care of us! The food is the best in Rehoboth.”

• The service was great and so was the food.
• Had to wait to get in. It was Friday.

“The place was jammed packed and we had to wait 25 minutes to get in. But the wait was worth it! The service was great and so was the food. Real family friendly. It was a tiny pricey for my taste but the food was really great. Everyone was really friendly.”

• The place is pretty.
• Not worth the money. Too little food.

“Our family went on Family night. It's supposed to be pasta for $25. We are not big eaters but for a family of four there was barely enough for 2 people. The waitress did not bring a bread basket, we had to ask for it. Had to because we had to fill up on something. The place was pretty and clean. The food, what little there was, was okay. The service was okay. Not worth the money. If you want Italian go to DiLeo's Pizza. The food was great and they aim to please even turning off the A/C when I said I was cold!”

• The homemade pasta dish with mushrooms and truffle oil is better than anything you can imagine.
• Can't find a thing.

“This is one of the best restaurants I've ever been to. I frequently bring family and friends to Zebra's and they all rave about it. My brother, who is a gourmet chef, and has traveled the world, sampling find food, says its the best food he's ever eaten. I give it as many starts are there are! ”

• It was great last year.
• Last time for this place for me!

“Excellent staff for a very busy night. Extremely noisy place, great vegetables and bread on the Wednesday night, half price dinner when paying cash. After having the tuna I was lucky to make it home before the dinner made me run to the bathroom, difficult to taste bad tuna covered with an tasty sauce. They should have thrown it out instead of inflicting it on a customer.”

• Pricey but worth the debt.
