• Nothing except it is convenient easy off/on to the Merritt.
• Food, service, price.

“As diners go it is passable (and I mean pass right by). I wouldn't bring anyway I am trying to impress here. Mornings are about cycling through customers. Rushed to order and then sat for 30 minutes for eggs. Apparently the "chef" prepared our order quickly but no one decided to bring it to us. Not that it would have been tasty-it was overcooked and of course ice cold. Ate one bite and left. You could tell they didn't care. Owner himself was the cashier and just snubbed us (I guess because we weren't regulars). $16 for 2 cups of coffee (never even got a refill). Only reason they have any business is because the alternative down the street is even worse. We make our own breakfast now.”

• Best French fries in the Stamford.
• Had fish and chips once. Overcooked and unpleasant. This was the only bummer out of a large menu.

“Excellent platters. Some of the chef's specials sound like things best accomplished in non-diner restaurants. However, when the platter arrives, you look at it and gasp at the artistry and size. Then, while you're eating, you keep saying to yourself, "and to think, this is from a diner."”

• You need to have some dough to eat there¿

“Great French vibe with delicious food located in the heart of Stamford. Wood floors and bar with low lighting and romantic atmosphere. Food is fantastic as I have eaten here a number of times on business and personal. Warm and inviting and honest¿”

• Atmosphere, senior citizens only waiter, rude.

“I went here about 6 months ago with my husband looking for a romantic dinner. The food was very good, but we felt very uncomfortable. I would say the average age was about 65 and elite/snobby, nothing wrong with the older crowd, but we couldn't even have a conversation without everyone staring because we were the only people talking. The waiter was very rude as well. It basically got to the point where we rushed our dinner and check to just get out of there.”

“The food was so so.. and they tried to sell me a filet mignon in a diner. Come on guys you are a diner.

a don't wanna spent 30 dolars in a meal with no tablecloths and cheap silverware.”

• Excellent Greek food, polite and attentive wait staff; great salads; inexpensive.
• None.

“Restaurant is small, but staff is polite and attentive; Food is "Greek" and "excellent" as long as you're not expecting to spend the evening over dinner. Its a great neighborhood pizzeria restaurant with beer and wine as the only alcoholic beverages, great salads and a complete menu of Greek specialties.”

• Personal touches, friendly staff.
• Steak was a little over done.

“My husband and I ate there on Christmas Eve and had the reduced menu, but the amount of food for the price was incredible. It was extremely busy, but we were seated in under 10 min and the waitress still wore a smile. The Manhattan chowder was wonderful and the owner came around greeting everyone, that was a nice touch. I encourage others to try it.”

• Family style, extensive & interesting menu, excellent

“If gut-busting Italian meals are your thing... this is the place! Tucked away in a little-known section of Stamford, this family style restaurant mixes classic Italian cuisine with top notch service and a friendly, sometimes raucous atmosphere. Bring lots of friends so you can sample more just a few entrees.”

• Great diner food
• Bit of a dump, but it's an institution around here

“the curley's have run their diner here for about 50 years, and not even Target department stores could get them to move. Target tried to buy the land the diner is built on, but the sisters who own the place took them to court and won. The food is great diner fare, but the cheeseburgers and chocolate shakes are the reason to go.”

• Food was excellent, decor was great
• Service was slow, though we weren't rushing, a bit pricey

“This is an excellent northern Italian restaurant. I feasted on the osso bucco and the waiter came up with a house red that went very well. A bit pricey, but it's worth it.”
