Dizzs As Is
Apr 3, 2008 by Mark from Redlands California

Overall Rating: 10 User Rating Score: 10
Food:[10] • Service:[10] • Atmosphere:[10]

  • I have never had a bad experience.
  • I cannot eat at Diaz's when I am in Redlands, Carmel, or Hawaii.

“I have been going to Dizz's As Is for many years. It is my favorite restaurant. I have eaten at all the upscale places in town both old and new and there is not one place that has the combination of incredible food and attentive service that they offer. It offers truly elegant meals in a charming unstilted atmosphere. It feels more like a club than a restaurant. The chefs and most of the wait staff have been there for years and the owners sons are often on hand as bartenders or waiting on tables themselves. I love a place with old world charm and it has that, too. I especially like the Veal Marsala as a main course choice, but I have tried everything on the menu several times over the years and have never disliked anything or had to send it back to the kitchen because of something not being prepared to my specifications. The soup is so good that I have had very few salads there but they're good, too. I don't have much of a sweet tooth but they offer quite an array of treats. It is quite simply the best place to dine that I have ever found.”

  • Sushi was the best I've had.

Five Feet Restaurant Inc
Aug 22, 2006 by tay from san clemente

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1
Food:[1] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[2]

  • Leaving, our choice of wine.
  • Sitting on the corner in the foyer of the men's room, cold food, inattentive waiter.

“My husband and I - and most of his law firm - have come to Five Feet for almost 20 years and always been pleased. Saturday night we opted for "the Taste"; we had never done this before. Every thing that could have been unsatisfactory was. The salad - the crab was smaller than something you could remove from under your finger, sounds gross but it was terribly small. The fish was utterly tasteless, watered down and weak. We were told by the waiter that the reason the pot stickers were soggy and cold was because the things have to sit on the counter a while before being served. BTW, the waiter was wretched - he never gave us any attention, never came back to give us our second bottle of wine - he should be trained better. The lamb was cold, the duck had 'gone bad', should never have been served. Our anniversary dinner was ruined. Of all of places we could have gone; Five Feet was our first choice. Never again. And why, because my husband asked me to marry him at your restaurant. And to top it off; we all had diarrhea for almost two days after our dinner at your establishment - check the duck. I would appreciate a response to this complaint from Mr. Kang. ”

Five Feet Restaurant Inc
May 8, 2006 by Ellen Van Camp from Laguna Hills, CA

Overall Rating: 1 User Rating Score: 1
Food:[2] • Service:[1] • Atmosphere:[1]

  • NOTHING.
  • Over Priced - moderate food - Poor Service - No resolution to problems.

“The worst restaurant experience ever! Wine list is extensive, but try to find one in stock under $100! After 3 attempts we finally were served our wine one hour and fifteen minutes after sitting down! Dinner came another 45 minutes later. Food was poorly prepared and was either over spiced or tasteless (lamb). When I expressed my complaint on service & beverage and was told dessert was comped. Well, they brought 2 terrible desserts (undercooked creme brulee and pineapple sorbet that was awful) to a table of 4! We didn't even order it! I told management that we would not return and she offered a free appetizer on the next visit. What a joke! Overall, we spent over $250 and left disappointed and angry. Do not give this arrogant business your money.”
