“I came with two others to celebrate a 71st birthday. It took 40 minutes for the salad and that was brought over right after one of us approached the manager about the time and then very shortly after the salad was delivered we got our main entree. The food was only warm and it was not exactly what we had ordered such as rice (which was under-cooked) instead of veg and coleslaw, with another entree. The cooks need to get the food out and have the servers take it out ASAP while it is hot and pay attention to changes on the tickets.”

“My husband and I had dinner at Le Vallauris the last week of December 2007 while on vacation. We chose this restaurant because it came highly rated and we wanted a private, romantic dinner. Unfortunately that did not happen. When we arrived we were sat in a huge room with large tables packed full. Each table had two newborn infants and it was obvious that all the people sitting at these tables were family. So, it was a large family gathering, with us in the middle. My husband and I had to sit side by side facing out toward the room. We felt we were staring at these people, and they too felt uncomfortable (they spoke to us later). Because of the mess of the room, my husband and I asked not once, not twice but four times to be moved. I'm a business owner of a large company and when a customer is uncomfortable or unsatisfied for good reason I bend over backward to make it right. Each person we asked told us no. Not allowed. There were many tables available, but with more than two chairs. It was obvious that we were not going to be moved just because we had only two people, nevermind that we were miserable. To top off our evening, I got up to use the restroom. Mind you, my normal experience in an upscale restaurant is that if one of the wait staff sees you walking by, they allow you to pass before moving in front of you. Not so at this restaurant. As I was returning to my seat, one of the wait staff flew by me in such a hurry that he bumped my shoulder and I fell over into another customer sitting at a nearby table. Not so much as an 'excuse me' or 'pardon me' from the waiter. He also didn't stop to see if I was OK. As we were leaving, we spoke with the family sitting at the various tables around us. They apologized for all the noise and distractions from the babies. They were told by Le Vallauris restaurant when making their reservation that they would have a private room. Shame. The food was good. The wait staff and customer service is something entirely different. Plus, the owners are pompous. Don't go! I don't want others to experience a complete waste of money as I have.”

“Salisbury steak is better. Great place to celebrate Halloween, but not romantic.”

“We made reservations for 6:00 p.m. We arrived at 5:30 p.m. We were told that it would be a 1 1/2 hour wait. When I brought up our reservation, we were told, We don't take reservations. We waited the 1 1/2 hours and still were not seated. They then told us it would be another 45 minutes. We decided to get our food to go rather than wait for a seat. While waiting, I observed the following. Food workers were wearing plastic gloves, while preparing food, but were dripping sweat from their heads and arms, all over the pizza dough they were rolling out. I witnessed a worker drop pizza pans on the soiled floor behind the counter, only to pick them up from the floor, wipe them off with his apron, which he also used to wipe sweat from his forehead, and then used them to make pizzas. Then another employee who was preparing pizza dough, wearing gloves while handling the food, picked up a ringing phone with his gloved hands, took an order, then hung up the phone after taking the order. He then grabbed a napkin from the counter, wiped the sweat from his forehead with his still gloved hand, and proceeded to go back to rolling/tossing pizzas with the same gloved hands, without ever washing his hands. This is going to make someone sick and is unsanitary. The entire time, the manager was standing at the counter, and said nothing to the employees. I pointed out the unsanitary conditions that I observed to the manager, who then threatened me with assault. We walked out without ordering. I have warned all of my friends, Relatives and co-workers about these restaurants practices, and hopefully, now you have been warned, and we can keep someone from getting sick from this. I also notified the Riverside County Department of Health.”

“Great locals hangout since the late 70's. Nice separate bar area. Also has separate dance floor on off-side of bar where dance classes occur. Food is exemplary for the money and diverse. Weekday specials start @ 11 am and on through dinner. My favorite is the filet mignon on Thursdays. Interesting Hong Kong style Chinese chicken salad. Highly recommended.”

“Davey's is a great restaurant for the money. The staff is always friendly and the food is great. The patio is a great place to people watch!”

“ Our waiter was polite and knowledgeable and his recommendation for the winter salad was 100% right on - a superb salad in itself deserving a 10 rating, this being the consensus from our group. As for the balance of the meal, while quite good, we honestly found it average in comparison to other quality restaurants but not anything outstanding or above average. For the money one would have expected. One in the party was quite happy with the mixed sea food.”

“Vegans rejoice! This restaurant boasts a 100% vegan menu! I can't say Iżve ever tried a dish I didn't like here. They always have fast, friendly service and reasonable prices ($5-$15). The atmosphere is extremely casual. Don't be surprised to see a lot of natural "hippie" types. The menu is well rounded, with something for everyone. My personal favorites include the Philly steak sandwich, the chicken run ranch burger, the mad cowboy, and their save the chicken salad. For dessert, try their yummy parfaits and carrot cake! There are other native foods restaurants in palm desert (el Paso), Costa mesa, and Westwood.”

“A true delight to stumble upon! My partner and I moved here to Palm Springs 2 years ago and kept hearing about the Uptown Grill but never went. I drive by nearly daily and see that the parking lot is always a buzz of activity. It always seems to be busy, which to me was a good sign. Well.... during the heat of the past weeks, we decided to give it a try. What a GREAT restaurant this. We have been going there ever since about 3 times a week. we find it to be one of the most friendly and consistent eating establishments in town. To our surprise however, you do need to make reservations even in the summer! We have never had a bad meal or been treated badly. We have dined all over the world and this is a world class restaurant. They are making gradual changes to their menu and it has been a pleasure to be a part of that transition, as both of the owners and the chef have asked our opinions of various meals. EVERYTHING has been delicious. As far as price, it is a medium range from $16 -$25. We have entertained several guests taking advantage of their special 2 for 1 and we are all amazed at how they can do it. Especially since they have live entertainment every night, which is the best I have heard in years. The only draw back is, it can be noisy but nothing like some places I've been. What we find amazing is that much of the noise comes from everyone greeting one another at other tables. It is truly a place where locals go as everyone seems to know someone else and it is this family atmosphere that is so much fun. The mix of people from straight to gay to young and old are all mingling and making or renewing friendships. I have learned that the owners, Eric & Steve have only had the place for a little more than 3 years. In that time, they have created an iconic gem unlike another in town. You get to town or are new to town, you need to get to the Uptown Grill... and make reservations. As their ads say they "The art of fun casual fine dining at its best" is so true. ”

“The service was the worst I have ever experienced. The waitress forgot three tables toast and then after delivering my husbands to another table tried to take it off and give it to us. We could not get a refill on coffee and several people got up and left because of the service. I will not go back.”

“Fun place to go. Very noisy but lots of things and people to watch especially if you sit out in the patio and watch the people stroll by.”

“Fantastic tasting Mexican restaurant that's been around for years. Atmosphere is wonderful and you have a choice of dining inside our outside. I would not hesitate to eat there next time I come to town.”
